I just picked up my Desert Eagle 44 mag a couple weeks ago. I ordered a conversion kit before I even picked it up but couldn't find one in burnt bronze so I just bought one in black. Looks great on a burnt bronze gun with the black 50AE barrel and its a simple swap that takes about 5 seconds.
I actually bought a CA Desert Eagle a few years ago although I left CA long before Newscum just cause I wanted an IWI DE. It was cheap and easy to make it a normal DE with a new firing pin and back plate. You can only tell cause there's and extra cut on the slide to make room for that stupid spring block.
CA is definitely something else…. Yeah that plate is a pain, if I were changing the bolt often I would swap it out. I’ve had the bolt out a few times for various reasons, like anything else, it gets easier every time. You want frustration, it’s putting the spring (the one on the outside) back on the slide lock lever! I bought the gold appointment kit for my black D.E. and that was one of the parts swapped. I guess that one is technique also.🙄
They can, but only IF you send it back AFTER purchasing it from CA and then send it back as a “currently owned gun for service.” As a used firearm, they will charge you to disassemble, send the loose parts out for plating, reassemble, and send it back to you as a “serviced” gun (same as if you sent any CA CA firearm back to them for major work). YES they will, I know this for a fact. How many CA TGTS 50AEs have you seen other than mine? (view my channel if you haven’t already) All it takes is money and patience, the whole thing including initial CA gun is about $4K.
@@991turbogeek I emailed them again. This is the response. We do not currently have that service available any longer. We will only refinish guns in the finish they left the factory. Were you contacting their customer service before?
