    I finally obtained one about four months ago just like the one in this video and I couldn’t be happier. I’m a large man at 6’7” and this 50 AE fits me like a glove! To get use to it as my everyday carry what I did was I started carrying two full frame S&W M&P’s at the same time with both a IWB holsters to get me use to the weight. After a couple weeks of that I found a nice concealed IWB holster for my 50 AE and I’ll never carry anything else.

    • @NightwoodGuns
      @NightwoodGuns  ปีที่แล้ว +2

      That’s actually awesome! Which IWB holster did you go with? And what load are you carrying in it? 😎

    • @theautodidacticman_
      @theautodidacticman_ ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@NightwoodGuns I went with an Alien Gear cloak tuck 3.5 IWB because I already had that holster I carried my full frame M&P’s with. With Alien Gear you can buy countless outter shells to match any pistol you own and they’re easy to change out with just four screws. Just buying the new outside shell to hold my 50 was only about 25 bucks so I just purchased the new shell and installed that. I’m sure there’s better IWB holsters out there, but for 65 bucks you get a holster and shell to fit any pistol with both having a lifetime warranty if ever damaged or worn out you’ll send it in and they’ll ship you out a brand new one. The ammo I’m carrying is 50 AE Speer Gold Dot 325gr. HP Ammo. Here recently I’ve completely stripped everything off the frame and slide and I’ve been working on polishing out the stainless. Had to do a lot of sanding in the beginning getting some of the pits out of the mag area. Never thought this was a casted firearm but I’m guessing it is since there’s a bunch of casting imperfections around that area and inside trigger area there was a big cast line I had to sand down first before polishing. I’ve been working on it a couple hours at a time maybe three days a week and I still have a long way to go to get that mirror shine I’m looking for, but it’s getting there.

    In the 1990s I had a DE in .44 Magnum with a 10" barrel. I also mounted a Leopold long eye relief scope on it, which not only was a huge improvement over the very basic iron sights, it looked wicked cool. The thing was a hoot to shoot, much softer shooting than my S&W 629. While it was fun to see people's reactions when I hauled that thing out at the range, for me, it was definitely a white elephant. I came to the realization that when I said, "I'll hunt with it someday" I realized "someday" will never come, and I sold it off. I do miss it, though.

      Since it’s so expensive, it’s hard not to look at it sitting in the safe and wonder if there’s anything else you’d rather have for $2k, lol. It’s an awesome gun, but it’s definitely not a keeper for everyone.

    I have owned a TiN .50AE for four years now. Bought it from a doctor who was moving and wanted it gone. The only problems I've had were cartridges preventing the slide from returning to battery. I bought a case gage after Magnum Reasearch inspected the pistol and found all the cartridges I had problems with wouldn't drop into the case gage. I check all my ammo now and haven't had a single problem. Hornady is the best, no problems, there is one brand every single one is too long and will jam the pistol.

    • @NightwoodGuns
      @NightwoodGuns  ปีที่แล้ว +3

      Congrats on the TiN .50! Sounds like you were in the right place at the right time! 🙌 I was so close to picking up the Gold Tiger Stripe but decided to opt for the ported stainless model. Kinda wish I would’ve splurged, lol! I run Hornady, Underwood, Speer, and Buffalo Bore with no issues. I haven’t tried any other brands yet, so I appreciate the heads up! 👍

    I own 4 or 5 1911 Pistols in 10MM, and a Glock 20 and XDM Elite in 10MM. That is as big as I go, as far as handguns go. I just want to be able to “Carry” all my pistols if I want to. I like watching others own them however. This is a good looking one. Congratulations!!! Never sell it if you enjoy it, as they are hard to come by.

    Agree with the safety, can’t stand flip up to fire safeties. I have a Ruger P95 and it’s the same. Have a hard time parting with it though cause it was my first handgun.

      @@NightwoodGuns good thing you mentioned that, because of the few ammo types i've used in my .44 Magnum variant, it seems to like the Hornady and the Federal Premium 240-grain rounds that I have tried out. however, it REALLY likes the Underwood Ammo 240-grain rounds the best, due to the increased muzzle velocity clocking in at 1500-feet-per-second. And they also have 160-grain Xtreme Penetrator with a velocity of 1800-feet-per-second, so I might get a box or two sometime closer to Christmas
