Just came back from Bali. Actually if you shop at a local mart, eat at local shops not cafes, the cost of living is way cheaper. Don't need to stay in a villa, a decent condo or apartment will do. Their grab is significantly cheap. But I have to admit, their shopping is becoming more expensive. Did my groceries at one of the big indomart, very cheap. To each their own way of life i guess.
i didn't give any. but i ask them to keep the change when i took transport like Grab (southeast asia version of uber). went to restaurant, didn't tip as well. @@lisalee3490
You're absolutely right. For expats from Europe, living in Bali or other big cities are not too expensive. But for me as local it's sometimes not affordable because of low salary or income average.
100$ a day cost lower level life in March 2024 + fly 1500$ + very small house they call „villa” 2-3k$ so at least 5k$ a month is higher like in south Europe but very low standard compare to Europe

I read that the cost of a property in Bali tends to be quite low too, but I’m not sure of the laws in buying something as a foreigner out there (I’m from U.K.). Definitely a good idea to invest in the long term too, but I think it’s also important for viewers to understand trading is not the same as investing. I assume you do the latter though, which is the tried and trusted for people putting their money to work.
Buying property is tricky as a foreigner, because you can't own land - so you have to agree to a lease with a local Balinese person, and I've heard about a lot of people getting ripped off/ scammed. I'd probs steer clear, but if you do go ahead then try and get at least a 25 year lease, and have it agreed with a proper lawyer.

Turis asing pun pada kecewa setelah datang ke Indonesia yg mayoritasnya islam terkenal ramah, katanya, tapi mendapati motor motor dgn knalpot yg asapnya mengenai wajah mereka. Mereka merasa orang Indonesia tak ramah. Turis asing jadi malas datang lg ke Indonesia.
Things have changed in Bali- the rent prices are outrageous and have tripled with WAY too many people/crime there now! Do NOT go there especially if you are Russian- STAY (TF) AWAY!!!
I lived in Bali for 12 years up till around 2011. I've been back to visit but have ZERO desire to live there again. The traffic has become insane and I'm sorry to say the charm of Bali has been damaged with too many ugly villas swallowing up the rice fields. It's a shame because there was never good planning on infrastructure, just greed by both local and foreigner that grew too fast without the roads to handle it. Also, beware of swimming in Sanur. The old school hotels there run their sewage directly into the ocean. PARADISE LOST. KASIAN BALI.

Bali not have any condo , only Thai 4-5 * condo 300-400$ a month

It seems like everything costs about the same in Bali and Singapore except for rent.
Only if you eat in posh restaurant in Bali which costs almost similar with cheap restaurant in SG.
