my advice as an Indonesian: regarding dengue fever mosquitoes come out and suck blood only during the day not at night, so use mosquito cream regularly during the day
@@drippingout6154 Thats right, kind of a grey striped critter. Best to regularly check and empty any still water around the house/property, in pot plants and saucers, puddles, any catchment item.
Get a kamus, English Indonesian dictionary, just a pocket one and there is no worry about flat batteries. Used it in the 1990s and picked up a useful amount of bahasa Indonesia pretty easily.
a little tip regarding MSG in Indonesian foods (mainly street foods). In some food like bakso, mie, or soup, they add the MSG just before they serve it to you. So you can ask them to not add MSG when you order.
My introduction to Indonesia was the chaos known as Jakarta, but Kuta remains the only place in Asia where I've been physically accosted by a shop owner.Even pre-pandemic, there was a level of desperation that stunned me. I had some persistent beggars in Cambodia but no-one laid a hand on me.
You forgot to mention one important thing: "VALID INTERNATIONAL DRIVING LICENSE". If you plan to rent a car, motorbike or scouter. And you don't want to have any trouble with local traffic police. You're welcome. ♥️
Wear and helmet and ignore the police, never used an international licence, if you don't make yourself obvious and wear a lid you don't need to be waste money on one

Green hair from chlorine, easy fix ,tomato ketchup, this is true especially if your fair haired, and your hair is long , the longer your hair is ,the more tomato ketchup you'll need to use , example shoulder length best use the whole bottle once your hair is completely covered ,just wrap a towel over your GREEN hair for a couple of hours and hey presto ,wash it off and it gets rid of 90% , if your a bit consous, repeat as nessasary ,just make sure someone doesn't use your hair to dip their chips, but it does really work,,,

As a local person Dengue fever is pain in the *$$ Just keep yourself consume more water/juice etc above normal amount, it will help you recover more quickly. #cheer have good day
Two things. It's been a couple years since I was in Ubud, but, when I was there, Grab, Bluebird, etc , were not allowed within the city limits. One was at the mercy of the local taxis and their touts. Secondly, if one is over the age of 69, one is ineligible for SafetyWing insurance.
Respect the local culture and people, mingle and be one, anywhere in the world, then life is easy and beautiful :) also a world traveler since child here. edit: use pure lemongrass essential oil to repel mosquitoes, it also nourishes your skin :)
Thank you for this very informative video. Are there mozzies everywhere in Indonesia and is the water hard throughout Indonesia? I would appreciate your feedback in this regard. Thank you 🙏
One really important one came to mind while I watched this. Scooters are a cheap and tempting way to get around but make sure you're fully licenced, wear a helmet and check your insurance. Accidents happen and you don't want to be stuck in Bali on life support.
One more thing, if you have to ride a motorcycle as a daily transportation, please be patient & careful on our traffic in Bali. I’ve seen many tourist rode their motorcycles like being chased by a ghost and ended up in hospital with severe injuries. Learn how to ride a motorcycle at first then enjoy your ride while in Bali, those will totally save you.

12:40 is there a way to tell if something has MSG in it? Or what kinds of foods normally do? I'm allergic, but living in the US, it's not really a problem 😬🤷♀️
MSG is good for you, I know because I ate it since birth! I'm Indonesian 😂 Just remember to balance it with local fruits & fresh veggies 😍 Another point I think quite important is: Criminality is very low in Bali. 99.99% originial Balinese people are very religious and will not steal. 99% of the time you will get your wallet back if you dropped it somewhere. If it is not returned, it must've been picked up by a non-Balinese.
