I’m so excited to visit. I started watching your videos a few years ago and you gave me the travel bug. I’ll be leaving the country (USA) for the first time in my life in just over a week from now to visit a friend in Indonesia. I’ll be spending about half my time in Bali, then Medan and Jakarta. Finally someone that understands. I am tired of these rich Americans spending hunders to thousands of dollars per day in every country they visit and make people think that it's very expensive when in reality they can survive with just 500 dollars for a week.. this inculdes accomondation, food and some activities! Especially in countries like Indonesia, Tanzania and many more!
He's saying "what I spend" emphasis on the I. Most Americans that have the money to visit are going to splurge, no one is going to go on vacation and be broke.

i live in indonesia and still dont want to visit Bali. but this video makes me want to add Bali to my bucket list! Awesome video Brett!!!
Bali is great if you are single or a young couple who’s adventurous but for a family or for the majority of western population. The bar they go to, what they don’t show you is the road that leads up to it has no sidewalks and if you try to walk there are stray dogs that will randomly chase you, the customer service is horrible. Changuu beach, you can’t swim because the waves are too strong and it’s rocky. In changuu there are some cool places to eat and yes it’s affordable but you have to go to one place then scooter to the next then scooter somewhere else forget driving. You could be stuck in traffic for an hour to go a mile going from changuu to Ubud. Bali is over hyped there are so many other places in the pacific where you get a better experience for the same or cheaper. If you are in your 20’s and early 30’s without a family yeah sure go to Bali and experience it. If you don’t want to be chased by stray dogs, get into scooter accidents and be able to walk places. Sorry for the hate, on this love your videos but no one ever tells the truth about this stuff and it’s a huge shock when you get there.
Families tend to stay in hotel / resort / villa in Nusa Dua / Uluwatu area to get more peaceful beach / cliff environment, or Ubud for the jungle

Bali not just Canggu n Ubud where most tourist come to visit.. eastern part of Bali more authentic balinese vibes such Sidemen,Amed n Tulamben... Or go to surrounding islands near Bali like Nusa Penida, Lembongan, the Gili's n Lombok... Even go further to the east like Sumbawa,Flores n Komodo island, Sumba,etc... Indonesia so huge man.. from western part to eastern part the same size like from California to New York.. many tourist didn't know that facts... They're only know Bali, Bali n Bali is so small island..
If you watch youtube videos of Bali, they are mostly done by young singles/couples which should give you an inkling already that they see and experience Bali from their point of views.
Would be helpful if you gave an alternative, instead of just whining and complaining without offering a solution/alternative.
This makes me miss Balis so much 🥲

Do you have a video or guide on how to travel to Bali? Like how it works with customs etc, the best way to go from the airport, find a villa in a good space like you? Would love a video like that as I’ve never traveled outside the US before?
from airport u can find Grab or Gojek booth ( ride hailing app seems like Uber in US ) to go to your destination or hotel. Grab or Gojek apps also provide oder for food & beverages.

We are now on a ball in canggu, the most terrible holiday destination we visited in 70 countries, after the hotel is such a nasty environment, dirty streets, ocean and terrible beaches, tourists can see that from the lowest social spheres from Russia and Australia, USA lol
