    My name is Crosby and I'm a solo traveler, digital nomad, and full-time traveler! After a few corporate jobs throughout college, I quickly realized that the 9-5 lifestyle wasn’t for me. So in 2019, I took the leap into the freelance world and started traveling the world full-time - from solo traveling Mexico to road tripping Portugal to living in a travel trailer, I'm absolutely addicted to this lifestyle. At the moment, I'm traveling solo through Bali, Indonesia and documenting everything here on TH-cam!

    It's worth noting she's talking about the most popular and expensive part of the entire island of Bali. It caters to westerners and things like western food cost way more than local Indonesian and Balinese food. Also accomodation pricing is very seasonal. Another thing is a lot of prices have gone up dramatically in the last year, since the island's struggle during the Covid-era.
    Source, fwiw: I spent 3 months in Bali in 2022 and 2023, travelling extensively, as well as 4 months in a number of other countries in Asia.

    Liked your video and agree Bali can be a great lifestyle but one expense you didn't mention was Travel Insurance. Also making sure it covers you while riding your scooter. So many go fund me stories of late of those who face huge bills after coming off bikes and did not have Travel Insurance or didn't have motorbikes incl in their insurance cover. Stay safe and enjoy your travels.

      @@twinsizeadventurethey have few rules relating to safety in Bali. Last time I went there, I heard that there were 3 Australians that week that died bungee jumping. That would not happen in Australia. I also was in a car crash with my kids in the car we had a driver and his van, so he would have been out of pocket, the people were nice to myself and kids after the crash, however I still had to pay for the trip that we never got to the destination lol. I paid as he would have got in trouble from his boss. I spent nothing really there, I paid for my accommodation before hand and spent less than a thousand for 2 weeks high rolling at the best resort eating the best food, the only downfall was I had a very expensive watch stolen (prob by hotel cleaning staff) do my cheap trip ended up costing 5k more. I wouldn't take anything expensive to Bali, you don't need anything there you could buy all your clothes there which will only last a wash or two and throw them at the end.

    I lived in puerto for awhile and something u learn pretty quickly is negotiation because it’s a HUGE part of their culture, and could also save u a lot of money especially being a tourist. Did u find it was the same in Indonesia or more specifically Bali?
    Also, I was curious to know if Anyar fell into like a middle ground sort of price range for accommodations in Bali or if it was more of a higher ground/ luxurious accommodation? Just to put into perspective what it would be like for say a luxurious stay or more of a budget friendly stay.
    Hoping to visit Bali soon, one of my really good friends from puerto just got back from a longer stay in Bali :) I would love to travel- backpack full time but starting out is a bit difficult with monthly bills at the moment :( but u definitely inspire me & motivate me to not give up living out my dream and I find it so fascinating seeing other peoples perspectives of places I’ve been in the world, which is how I originally came across ur page!

    • @primemarketing7218

      As a local indonesians and been in Bali almost 10 years, yes negotiation or bargain is part of our culture too for the store or public market not in the groccery store or mall how had the fix price 😊, that anyar is a basic, you can stay at a villa with a private pool, or a bambboo villa house 5 star rank, Bali has so much variety of a budget for everyone, the luxurious you can imagine also

    • @CrosbyGraceTravels
      @CrosbyGraceTravels  11 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Amazing questions! Bargaining is very normal in the local markets and small outdoor shops, but at grocery stores and nicer stores there are set prices. Anyar was definitely mid-tier - there are wayyy nicer places (like private villas) that are super luxurious. I hope to do this with a group of friends or my partner someday!

    • @lvthud
      @lvthud 8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Just got back from two weeks there. In the grocery store everything is set price, markets are negotiate. As a white guy the markets start with the white guy price and slowly bring it down to just above grocery store prices, it took me one trip to a grocery store to figure out what was going on and that was that, no more markets. BTW, I don't mind negotiating at all, but, when their lowest price is more than a stores price I am not going to waste my time.
      The local dishes are dirt cheap and oh so good, Nasi Goreng ranged from great to out of this world, $3-$6 a plate and one plate is enough for a good sized meal.

    Yes, it’s for sure comfortable for people who are spending a short time in Bali. Otherwise you would have noticed that accommodation has increased by 150% after Covid. For people who live here since a long time, this sudden rise is an issue as they also need to come up for costly working permits, a digital tourist doesn’t need to consider in his budget.
    If you spend 40 million a year just to be able to work legally, rent a place for 220million (if you don’t live out of a suitcase you might want that) which cost 100 million before, then costs of living in Bali are not „oh so cheap!“.

    Generally when I think of Bali, I would expect to go to a beach, perhaps swim and walk around looking at things. Pretty disappointed to hear you can't walk around so need to pay $50 for a gym for 10 days. That would be a very high end gym in Australia - what about yoga classes over there? Is it just somewhere to go and sit on a pc and at cafes all day? But Thankyou for the driving lesson info.

    Wow I can’t believe how inexpensive the airbnb stay was. Excellent breakdown. Could you not also walk on the beach and swim for exercise?

    Hi! I'm visiting Bali for 2 weeks, and I was wondering where did you exchange your money? Before you left at a bank?
    I've read somewhere, wait until you arrive at the airport in Bali to exchange cash.
    Thank-You for this video, very helpful!

      I came back from Bali last night only change $50 at most at the airport. Really bad exchange rate. Best rate can be obtained at the local banks. Only get Bluebird taxi’s if your catching cabs. As they use a meter, the other taxis don’t use meters & will charge your triple the cost.

      Just go to the atm at the airport and then you change cash at BMC.

    I don't know who told you there's no public transport in bali but there is .
    And if you drive 20k out of the tourist areas you will shock how much you have been overpaying for things by a lot .
    For example those cloths you bought if bought at local market out of tourist area no where near 85$
