Not sure if you had already caught it or not, but at 24:28 you did get 2 levels from simple interest instead of one, despite only having saved one talent point.
@@Retromation You can press [C] to show your stats during battle, it updates live. So whenever you level up, you'd see the increase. That's how I discovered you only need 1 talent point to level up multiple times.
@@Retromation Actually, it looks like the econ didn't start happening until you got the second. At first you're saving one to get one. But the more you unlock that skill, the better. Because then you save one to get two, and then save 1 to get 3.
If this became the new Brotato I would absolutely not mind, this game is so charming and there is looking to be SO MUCH potential for different runs!!!
First episode catching this game, that is an extensive skill tree. Wow. Seems like a simple gameplay loop with an insane amount of hidden depth. I'd love to see this become a miniseries.
I have had some trouble getting used to the wizard and haven't been able to do a full 20 nights on them, I usually get overwhelmed around night 14. The slower, weaker basic attack certainly makes it trickerier compared to the Archer. However, watching this has made sure I am not discouraged. I believe you still only need to hold onto one point, I think you can see in your stats screen how many of the procs occur if you have say, the damage up on a level up.
I think, of the classes, the last one currently available (as far as I can recall) is the one I've had the most trouble getting all the way through with with the difficulty up because, while they're generally solid in theory, sending out minions that can bump and push back enemies and such, they're short on big emergency buttons, frankly, even the Wizard's Tornado is better at handling things when waves get overwhelming... Well, that, and the Wizard's "Gain more levels" and "orbs" just seem like stronger passive types than what I've seen on summoner so far.
@@thaddeusgenhelm8979 The third character is a summoner????, that's so cool!. Sounds like you have to rely on scaling during the wave. Do the summons die and/or have a limited duration?, because maintaining them sounds hard.
@@saparapatepete 4th, actually. Each shot you normally have is a snail that can bump into enemies twice usually (they take damage and deal damage when they collide), and keep going until they either die or get all the way to the far end. This is very useful because it means you basically have infinite range, and the shots move slow enough that you can fire them down lanes there aren't enemies and they'll probably hit them as they newly spawn. Buut almost all his skills are bigger summons which change your next attack (or a skill that like, heals/buffs your summons, so you need to have a bunch of summons out for it to be useful), so unlike the wizard (who throws out spells along with their attacks) or the archer (who gets crazy attack speed when he needs it) it you're being heavily pressured from all directions it can be hard to keep up. It's possibly the easiest class when things are mid difficulty or below, but so far the one I found hardest when things get really tough.
@@thaddeusgenhelm8979 Love the idea of generating momentum through summons, but if there's only snails, i wish there was more summon variety. For example, a shooter you place in a lane or a healer that heals the closest summon in their lane. Or a big emergency summon.
You convinced me to buy for my steam deck - already a couple hours in so even if I drop it I got my money's worth. Wizard is super neat, especially the sort of meta-focus on navigating the skill tree.
The blue talent choice on character select seems to be equal to 2 common nodes on the talent tree. The ability tree ones were 25% damage and the start choice gave 50%. So maybe not quite as crazy powerful as it sounded. The max mana one was also a full mana instead of a half mana like the normal nodes
Truly was a whole new experience with a change of class. Thought a range upgrade would still pop-up (even if infrequently) since long range spell attacks aren't rare for wizards/mages.
i was genuinely surprised the classes played so differently for such a simple concept. in my steam cart
Not sure if you had already caught it or not, but at 24:28 you did get 2 levels from simple interest instead of one, despite only having saved one talent point.
that is _silly,_ it is still _extremely_ overpowered if you needed to bank 2 lol
@@Retromationi think you might only need to bank at least 1 on total

also top left if the screen above the character portrait is your current level

I really liked this game if you upload 10 videos today i would watch them all.
Ohhhh man, this could be a craaaaacked series, I would love to see more. Like, Brotato length.
There are so many classes it can truly fit anyones play style and what they enjoy. SUCH a cool game. I'd Love to see more.
Such an interesting game, definitely has more to show
I would love to see this as a whole series!!
Agreed!

Very fun to watch, would watch more of it, the talent tree is very satisfying :)
It would be great to see this random talent tree in many different types of games like tower defense, or something
Just watched the first two videos one after the other, can't wait to keep watching/see more!
Very excited for this second video!!! Thanks for covering more of it Reto!!
Me: Blind as a bat.
Retro: Blind TO bats.
Love seeing more on this one!
This game is amazing! Been having a blast playing it at home and putting your videos on in the background at work.

I cleared night 20!!

Was worried when I didn’t see you upload a run of this yesterday. What a relief!

I played this a bit last time you did a video on it and enjoyed it, but haven't played it in a while, I'll be checking it out again!
I bought this after watching your archer run. I have yet to get past day 14 in wizard, and have gone three or four times already.
Please more videos on this game ❤
I like watching this a lot more than I thought I would I'm definitely going to go back and watch the rest of this series now
Would love to see more of this!

Bought it after the first video and its so much fun. Really cool concept

"she said" is the finisher you were looking for there I believe, Retro. :)
I'm excited to see more of it
This is great hopefully u do one for each class
Wow 20 orb achievement on LITERALLY the last second possible, great run!
Definitely potential for a series here
I really want to see a series on this game
Oh no, I just got the ending of Cobalt Core and you introduce another game with things I like in games?
This game seems quite good and I didn’t even see the first video.
learnt is an accepted way to write the past participle of learn. i think more in british english and alii, but still
Man, imagine how different level 25 might be.
More vids in this series please
Really enjoying this game
I like the Gameboy aesthetics. I'm curious, does speeding up the game have any in-game impact (other than making it more difficult for the player)?
Yeah dawg all 25 mastery levels pretty please and thank you.
I think you only need one skill point for multiple interests
if true that makes an already busted perk completely fundamentally busted.
@@RetromationIf the number in the top left is level, then it's true
Talented and charming!
odd to me that you hiccuped on "learnt" because as a UK denizen that is the standard here 😂
Alright. Alright, Reto you convinced me, I'll pick the game up. This looks incredibly fun, just as a little time-waster.
hard to go wrong for $2
"learnt" vs "learned" is American vs British English :) Since it seemed like you were laughing at a typo on that at around 8:00
Such a unique little thing
Imma just pre-like this 0:13
mini series!!!
yay more talented
this NEEDS to go to switch
Well, I mean, let's at least unlock the next character right?
More fire balls!!!!
19:21
Me when I'm being oppressed by Society and a violent cosplaying billionaire
Yes please
Has anyone else felt like the archer is unbalanced, like the second I get pierce I know I’m winning the run?
I want moar!
Moreeee
"learnt" is British spelling :p
