  • Hi Guys, today I’ll show you how to make granola on the stovetop. You need just a few ingredients and not a lot of time. This is a healthy and really tasty granola that’s wonderful as a snack, over milk, with yogurt or on top of fresh fruit.
Link to essential Baking Sheet: amzn.to/2daV9rT
We need 2 cups of old fashioned oats, this is the kind that cooks in 5 minutes, 1 tbsp honey, ½ cup of sliced raw almonds, ½ cup of golden raisins. Now, you can substitute any nut or dried fruit that you like, 1 tsp of vanilla extract, 1/2 tsp of ground cinnamon, tsp of coconut oil, tbsp of butter, 2 tbsps brown sugar, pinch of salt and a baking sheet lined with parchment paper or wax paper. We are going to spread the oats on here after they are toasted. There is no baking at all, it’ll all be done on the stove top. Heat up a large pan, add a tsp of coconut oil. Put the 2 cups of oats in. Make sure the oats are evenly coated with the oil. Cook this on medium to medium low heat until they are golden. This should take about 8 minutes. You don’t want this to burn so don’t walk away, stir this often. Now the oats are ready and you’ll definitely smell them. Pour the oats onto the baking sheet and leave it aside. In the same pan on low to medium heat, add one tbsp of butter, 2 tbsps of brown sugar and 1 tbsp of honey. Let this melt and when it starts to bubble, add the oats. It’s easy to fold the paper and add the oats. We’ll also put the nuts and raisins in. Stir this and make sure the nuts, oats and raisins are coated with the melted sugar and butter. Add a tsp of vanilla and ½ tsp cinnamon. Keep stirring. The heat should be low to medium. Also add a pinch of salt. It already looks like granola. Now you want to cook this for at least 5 minutes. You do have to continue stirring and watch this. Taste this after 5 minutes and the oats and nuts should taste toasted and a little crispy, not chewy. If it’s chewy, cook for a few more minutes. Cool the granola on the baking sheet and store in an airtight container.
I love the wonderful toasted flavor of this granola. It’s great as a snack by itself or on top of yogurt. It’s also wonderful over fresh fruit or as cereal with milk. Kids love granola because it’s crispy and sweet. Usually granola is made in the oven but this is a great stovetop alternative for those of you who don’t have ovens or don’t want to heat up your house by turning on the oven.
We used very little sugar and fat in this recipe so it’s healthy. If you look at a store bought granola closely, there will be a lot of sugar and fat in it. It’s so easy and fast to make your own granola at home with just a few ingredients.

I only have whole oats, honey, coconut oil, sliced almonds, cinnamon and honey. Gonna try a modified version of this to mix in my morning Greek yogurt. (People are saying to put toasted oats in yogurt, but I needed to know methods for this). Thanks for the tips. :)
    Oooh, and flax seed! :D

Result: Holy moly!!! The toasted taste with the yogurt was grrrrreat! Some said if you couldn't toast the oats, then mix in the raw oats the night before and refrigerate. "Mm, so tasty" But I found it mushy and gross. Lol. And plain yogurt is a chore for me to eat. And cooking and eating plain oats every day is a hot chore, too.
Usher in this blend spooned on top of plain Greek yogurt.
The almonds (got toasted) and honey and cinnamon really enhanced. The flax (also toasted) just got in my teeth as usual, but it does its job internally lol.
      My new breakfast. :)
      Glad I found this video.
