I wish I had watched this video before ordering one - I am so disappointed in mine - I always rated Vax in the past as I still have the original orange corded hoover /carpet washer which is still going strong as it has such a good build quality. I think the bean counters have been let loose on this range sacrificing quality over function ality . My husband says it sounds like it's singing Crazy Horses as it's so loud ! Lol

Unfortunately the Vax company that made the original orange 3in1 no longer exists. The brand is now owned by a company based in Hong Kong and sells products made in China.

Bought one last year, and agree you should not buy this, or anything from Vax!
Almost exactly one year and BOTH of my batteries show up as being defective on the same day!
3 year warranty means Vax has replaced them, but to have both die on the same day...
Even emailed Vax about my concerns, so far they have not replied at all! Been over 2 weeks!
And now to top it off, the motorised brush has overheated!
I came to this video to see if the bulge on the motor side was there by design, it is not!
So now I have to contact them again about replacing the brush!
So until the 3 year warranty is up all I see is Vax having to, by law, replace all the items which become defective.
After the warranty expires Vax simply will not give a damn!

Almost identical to the Blade 2 Max (brushless motor) I got in end of 2018, same bin and cyclone, still have it it’s an ok machine, I paid £279 for mine at the time, it came with a flexi hose and extra tools, the handle position when using can cause wrist ache, the filter stays fairly clear, I have a spare for when one is drying, problems since buying had to get a new bin from vax in 2021 old one started to crack and had to have a new brush bar in 2021, but it’s still in service for daily cleans and the car, overall not a bad machine for a Vax, and it’s price point, to be fair I’d buy another, 4 things I’d change is handle and the squealing motor as it’s aged, cyclone shroud get hair and dirt stuck and the hopeless wall mount, but it still working ok despite age (3 and bit years) on a modern machine. Ps the whistling is the suction relief valve triggering on model i have.

I have one and had it for years and still good , I had to replace the head unit due to wife not placing brush roller in right that caused it to wear it away but still only £30 so parts are pretty cheap. I have never had a hose splitting issue and cant understand the strip coming off his model

After one very short use I checked the brush bar as the main head did look particularly dusty. Not only did the dust 'stick around' in the clear plastic head, it really did gather around the spindle. I had to take a small soft paintbrush to both ends of the brush bar and where they slot into the housing. In my older Dyson hand held this is the sort of cleaning task I only had to do every few months so I am worried if dust gets into the mechanism so easily it will cause damage before too many more uses. Considering returning this as a result.

I do wish I had watched this before I ordered mine. I have used a Dyson previously but thought I would give Vax a go as Dyson are too expensive now. With great excitement I put it together immediately. It is very heavy (I have arthritis) and after I used it, I went over the carpet with my old Dyson and that picked up pet hair that the Vax missed

None of the Vax 4 qualities matter when the battery stops working and it’s only over a year old so the warranty doesn’t cover a replacement one.Customer service were casual about the fact that the battery had gone and £70 was acceptable for the new one.I might as well bought a proper mains Hoover instead of this cheap Chinese toy.

I have this cleaner. I do like it but it does have niggles. As you pointed out with the mini motorised tool, it's not very good or easy to control. My biggest pain with it though is it's so hard getting the tools on and off the vacuum. It can get so stiff, I need to be pressing the button whilst my husband is pulling the attachment haha. Probably wouldn't buy another, I do like the bright LED headlights and the one I bought has two batteries so that's handy too. I would definitely look at a shark though for next time on your recommendation. It's not bad, but it doesn't set your world on fire lol.

This is a terrible machine. I find the tools are really hard to un-slot. I have to pull and pull with all my might in order to pull apart. it is very heavy too. often it takes me around ten minutes or more to reconnect the dust bin. Extremely hard to line up and slot back into the main stick. I have used it ten times since my purchase in May 2023. I chose the 4 Blade Pet Vax for use in a gentleman's country house just once a week.

I havea pet and child, absolutely rubbish complete waste of my money less than a year old and now looking at another cordless. Started looking at your reviews and hopefully the shark looks a lot better. I found with the vax any dirt on my hard floor it flicks it in different directions rather than suck it up. I had a birthday party for my little one and there was confetti on the hard floor. It didn’t do well and if it tried to remove on boost when I reused it again it was just stuck in the head. And confetti is quite like. So it would advise against if you have kids or dogs. Not great

I bought this Vax direct from company. Free delivery next day .I found it picked up so much in one go .But two things I did not like .one yes the felt strip started to come away on very first use. Two the brush blade also on first use was absolutely bound with hair and will have to be removed everytime used. 😢. I was going to consider a Shark but was told as its an American make that parts would be more expensive. The other delight though was because I bought direct received the flexi hose and other tools free.

I also wish I had seen this video before buying. I was deciding between the Shark and Vax and chose the Vax and am so disappointed with it. I had six weeks use out of it but now it is broken. Only the middle light for carpet works - no hard floor or boost mode. I have lights but no power. I am trying to contact Vax which is a not going well. I registered my machine but was told I was not on the system. However, I sent them the guarantee that was emailed to me. No response. I need to subscribe to this channel.

I had the USA version, nearly identical minus the mini motorized tool and the brushless motor. Like you, I found it quite awkward to hold and strangely weighted. And without the brushless motor, the suction was very mediocre. Despite that it did clean well.
Ultimately I returned mine after I found the side of the cleanerhead where the belt ran was getting very hot (as in, too hot to hold) and the end of the brushbar was just beginning to distort and melt. That was after a week or so in a small flat with no pets and no long hair.
I returned that one and got a replacement from the store, but it did the exact same thing. Finally returned it for my money back. That was a couple years ago now, hope it was just an early run manufacturing error.

@@parwaz7861 Nah I don't think so, even if it was perfectly reliable I've used a bunch of machines since which outclass it and seem easier to use. Maybe if I could get the brushless motor version very very cheaply I would try again but not for a real price.

I had the Vax Blade 2 Max Pet. It was very poorly made. The plastic hose in the floor head (you pointed out) split within a few months, but VAX did replace it. The joints between all the connections (handle, wand, floor head) became very loose leading to loss of suction, and the filters needed washing every fortnight - not every three months. We've a small two bed apartment with a non-shedding dog. Eventually gave up and moved to a Shark Cordless LiftAway ICT160.

A cordless vacuum can never replace a corded one. As much as they tell you it can.... It cannot. Batteries fade on cordless machines and die after 2 years... So basically after 2 years you have to spend on a new battery. Also not very environmentally friendly as batteries don't just decompose naturally. I'll always go for a corded machine

It would be great if Vax would release the OnePwr bagged cordless machine that is based off the Oreck uprights. In the Stated you can get a OnePwr Hoover or Oreck bagged machine and they are the same unit for the most part but the Hoover sells for less. I have the Hoover and really like it. Great carpet lines really feels like I am using a plug in Oreck.
