- FORMULA 1 Grand Prix F1 RACING -RC Large 1:5 SCALE Gas/Petrol RC F1: southeastrccc.co.uk EPIC BATTLE
After several rounds of qualification to set the grid position, the F1 final race of the day started. After a quick 2 minutes of warmup for the drivers to get used to the track and to warm up their tyres they formed up the grid in qualifying order as called out by Dominique over the PA system. 10 second count down was initiated and they were off. An incident packed race saw 2 of the field drop out with mechanical failure and this left 2 drivers battling it out for the lead. It was apparent that being the fastest on the track did not translate to a 1st place. Smooth driving from the leader and making his car as wide as possible to make overtaking almost impossible made for a thrilling battle when 2nd place driver repeatedly tried to get passed and failed. Awesome and compelling to watch. Thanks to the hospitality of the SERCCC crew, the drivers but especially Mark and Dominique.

That was some awesome F-1 RC! My heart 💔 😢goes out to the Verstappen/Albon Red Bull, but even more so to the Senna/Prost McLaren with gearbox issues later on in the race!😭💔 A big thumbs up to the Norris/Sainz McLaren for driving an excellent race while managing to hold off the Mansell/Piquet Williams!🏁🏆

A tip : you can watch movies on Flixzone. I've been using them for watching all kinds of movies during the lockdown.
People are complaining about the slow speed, but I think they look far more realistic than their smaller electric counterparts.
Flatiron 53 there is no slow speed, it’s around 80km/h, you feel the speed when it breaks one’s toe, foot or even
I like this better too. Otherwise it's not enjoyable watching it on a vid. These aren't slow either, though.
Even though they are electric but they sound like they have real gasoline engines... Frankly speaking these toy electric racing cars sound much real then Formula E cars! 😂

I was getting into rc's when I was younger. Than I realized how gay driving rc cars is, and I'd probably never get layed again. Got rid of them and got a motorcycle.
The track is too small for the car's scale.

@@macdee6040 It's not that at all.....it's just seeing an issue right off the bat. Put it like this: a buddy calls you up and says he bought a new car. He saved and finally got enough to buy that 1969 Camaro SS he always wanted. He brings it over to show it off....when he pulls up you see black smoke billowing out the tail pipe and it running like crap. You open the hood and find out the engine is only running on 6 cylinders. Are you a dick for pointing out the obvious? NOPE.

i love fifth scale. the only time i saw them was in the early 90's. i was a kid playing soccer and the park we played at had an oval track and we would watch the f1 and stock cars. i will never forget how big they were compared to my little store bought rc cars.
kyle walton as a kid around 1982 I saw 1:8 and was fascinated and my uncles neighbour was one pilote and then one car crashed in the border where my feet were at 30 cm and....well the noise of the crash, my fear, my admiration, wow

I'd like to these who think these are slow try to keep them on the track without doing hundreds of dollars in damage. These are big cars and actually sound like a car instead of a Hoover vacuum.

I’m the new owner of the 1/7th-ish scale Traxxas Unlimited Desert Racer. First large scale. Easier to drive than smaller scales going fast and this UDR looks like a Trophy Truck when running. And I’m a big fan of desert racing. I’d get more large scale but my small apartment can hold so many. And the UDR is number four (two 1/10th scales and one 1/18th scale plus the UDR)

@@thecollectorofhobbies340 You may need to find a local rc car club, all depends on where you live. But in terms of rules have a look at "British Radio Car Association" website.

Brooklands is a great track with some great people. Though that track is pretty unforgiving and it always surprises me how tough the Large Scale F1s are.
Unforgiving is right. 2nd place was doing well to catch-up but on one of those pass attempts all he did was get a real wheel on the white painted line and that sent him to the other side of the track. Awesome to watch though. The leader made is car very wide for the last few laps and it worked.

I saw 1/4 scale speedway cars sliding & spitting huge rooster tails out the back. This looks like just as much fun!

Are the wings actually useful for making down force when they are that small?

Look at it this way. The air molecules are 5 times larger relative to the size of the car.

In all scales of racing RC they are very important. In 1/10th off road, they have front wings. Look it up
Is there a Nascar oval version of this anywhere? To proper scale; one that takes ~the same amount of time to go around as real thing? 15 seconds(short)/ 30 seconds(mid)/ 45 seconds(super speedway).

I think it takes away from RC. Drone racing - yes. But if you can see the entire track - no. Stick to Gran Tourismo or I Racing for that. Or the real thing if you can afford it
