Really proud of Neil for even showing up after that spinal injury in during last year's qualifiers. I was honestly surprised he managed to get back behind the wheel so quickly and I definitely did expect him to do so well in this race. Truly an inspiration.
as a old RC racer im amazed how far EP cars have come both in terms of power and durability of batteries. when i raced EP it where 2-3 fast laps and after that the nimh pack start to die of quite fast and only way to get power on every lap is to run IC ethanol cars but that had its backside also in terms of reliability and mantenance. car got full of oil and dust that needed constant cleening and adjusting to run at maximum performance. now days i do som drifting just for fun with my old trysty TC3, bought a 7600mah lipo and the car is running for an whole evening lots of hours of racing on one charge and no mess with charging in the pit or have half a dozen battery packs that will last 8-9 minutes at the most and take 30-40 minutes to charge each.
steven yes, this is most likely a mod class. The stock races usually do two doubles with the less power or risk taking a longer route with a run up to jump it fully.
There are go pro pov's around. They add a bit of weight, so I doubt anyone would use it for competition racing, but I've seen a few videos of when they were doing practice laps.
He put it upside down because it shit down and it's a rule I believe to be upside down so people know its broken/shut down and incase it glitches and starts to go on its own it won't go anywhere

So Ryan Mayfeild the kid who was leading the first few laps was a real little kid at a local track in Phoenix AZ called SRS that I used to race at way back in the day. I never came close to this level of good but when he was little kid just learning I beat him all the time....lol but that didn't last long. His dad painted the most epic bodies ever!! Shout out P man!!!!

Well I just turned 36 and got myself a E-Revo for my birthday. Haven't had an rc since I was a kid. I'm trying to get my friends into it now, cause this thing is FUN!

It's already existed for a long time actually. There's one bigger circuit (for bigger petrol rc cars) than these near my city, but only used around 80s to 90s and abandoned in 2000 or 2001 (because there's no one playing offroad rc anymore --they changed to rc drift race).
Not sure how it works in these races but it would be nice to see more of the racers themselves, for example, if they get on a podium as in other races. I would like to see more of the people behind the controllers.
it will be better if they flip their car, the referee could help to put in back in track ... but until the road is clear so it won't bother the car behind it. And to make it feels like if you flip your car then the car behind will gonna take your place.
Probably has something to do with the weight distribution... or that watching the guys get pelted trying to flip these rc's is part of the entertainment

Those are also the racers, you do your round then you go out and marshal for the next class of cars. It’s all volunteers though so no payment XD

Two ways this would be cooler:
1. Drivers only had POV
2. If you flip your car you’re done (like a real car)
If it was if you flip your car your done. Races would probably go bye within a minute xD
