Probably the best bass learning channel around TH-cam. I've been playing for about 11 years now and I come to your channel whenever I feel like I want to learn something new or just to grasp some of your knowledge. Thank you and may God bless you.
Again Mark... Again! You did it! Thanks to this lesson I have learned something that was impossible for me to play. Your lessons are just the best! Cheers!
This was AWESOME at demystifying they types of riffs that have intimidated and perplexed me for years. Using the open string as a "ghost note". It makes so much sense now. Thank you
Thank you so much for this video. Very well taught and played. Put a smile on my face once I got to the first exercise and suddenly it clicked on what I was doing wrong with my triplet technique (never first slapping the open string as I was afraid it would interfere with the key).
Sir, you have just earned a new subscriber :) your lesson are perfectly clear and I already see those as my go-to point to learn to play the bass. Fingers crossed for the channel :)
Awesome lesson! It will take some time (and blood?) to get up to speed with all the triplets though ;-) I do not know why but I found the last one by far the easiest and managed to play with the drum track almost immediately, while the first one...I am not even close... Anyway thank you for this useful lesson!
How come I find stuff like Jaco's 'Chromatic Fantasy' and 'Donna Lee' and 'Portrait of Tracy' easier to learn than fast slapping triplets?! Aaaargh!!! Great video and great teaching style, though, as always!
Hi Mark. Can you show some fun you can have with the diminished scale? A little melody or something - that's going to sound very sad and dark of cause.
It's a result of the pickups but not because they're active. I generally have the EQ on the active set to flat. There's no real difference between passive and active unless you adjust the tone controls. That's all active is.
I've been waiting for this lesson the last couple of years
Your by *F A R* the best bass teacher ever. You've earned yourself a new subscriber. ^-^
Agree
Ed J i somehow read “Your by E A R the best bass teacher ever.” Kinda wierd
So glad I found this channel. Really helpful at teaching an old dog like me new groove
You are the only TH-cam teacher I go too anymore. I learned twice as much and a fast from your videos compared to everyone else’s. Thank you
You play amazing, nearly impossible riffs like it's just an everyday thing for bass players. WOW! I may have to sign up for your course!!
Thanks Denise

Super lesson! I have never tried slap before but know I can have a great start with it now!
Oh boy, you really should start with an easier basic slapping lesson if you've never done it before.
Thank you for the awesome tutorial of triplets. 👍👍👍

GREAT MARK
Hey Mark, what kinda strings would you recommend? CHEERS!
Mark you are a total baller
Another great video. 👍
so helpful,, thanks
Dude you rock!
nice video Mark much thanks
For the last exercise, I find it easier to start w/o the D note. I just do them all muted
Nice
I have a cuestion, how do you get to mute A and E strings while you slap the other two? Btw thank you for the amazing lesson.
AMAZING😊
Hi Mark.
Can you show some fun you can have with the diminished scale?
A little melody or something - that's going to sound very sad and dark of cause.
oh hi mark
I find it much easier to do a thumb-down on the D string as opposed to slap
Is that tone a result of active pickups? It reminds me of Bill goulds tone!
It's a result of the pickups but not because they're active. I generally have the EQ on the active set to flat. There's no real difference between passive and active unless you adjust the tone controls. That's all active is.
@@talkingbasslessons ill haveto look into better pickups so. Absolutely love the tone! Thanks for the reply mark! Killer lessons!
nice:)
I suggest you to write your own method Book....
Sir,❤❤
Can you please provide Sinhala subtitles?

This is just recorded direct, no amp. But live I have an Aguilar Tone Hammer and Schroeder cab. I've been though tons of gear over the years.
