This is my favorite long distance review so far! I really loved the scenic tidbits the most. I had a 2017 Niro that I traded in for a K5 last year after numerous road trips. She was still kicking after racking up 124K+ miles in less than 3 years. I'm really looking forward to the 2nd generation.

This thing looks SO GOOD. Wow, I’m beyond impressed. Gives me Cadillac XT4 vibes on exterior, and Kia EV6 interior vibes. And those are some good vehicles to be compared to.
Love those tail lights! Reminds me of the MK1 Ford Focus hatchback. It's mostly the nostalgia of that car for me, but it is very handsome and squared-off in the new Niro. What a fantastic looking car. Would love it if Kia came out with a full GT hybrid with more power in the future!

We had a 18 Niro PHEV and it was ok. Ev up to 78mph, 100mpg or so. It had two issues where we had to leave the car at the dealer overnight for repairs. The first time it did not even charge. Also, 1 month before returning the lease the car got t-boned and no one got seriously hurt. The car was totaled.
I had an 18 and was in a major accident, but I was so impressed with how it kept me protected that I took my check and got a 22(US) and looking at this one, maybe I should have waited for the 23 lol. They really are great cars and so fun to drive. One thing though, I like being able to get 50mpg and it looks like the 23 doesn't make that as easy to do.

This double branch steering is perfect for cruising with drive assist, I rest my two hands on the low side of the wheel and cruise for hours in the highway. Not to mention the beauty of this new steering wheel

I love this review..got a little bit of history and culture too. I currently own a 2022 sportage. I've been in 3 accidents ,everytime I was hit in the back and I drove a reg car. I like the look of the new 2023 (UK here) Niro, I have the mk1 HEV, it’s my first Kia and my first Hybrid and I have to say I’ve been impressed. I like the new interior look including the new steering wheel, which I wasn’t to sure about at first, but it’s grown on me. The new front design and light cluster is a big improvement on the current model, much more edgy. The rear is a slight improvement, although I think the turn signal lights are down too low!

Thank you for your reviews on the Niro. I just bought a 2023 SX hybrid. You get use to the haptic touch panel for climate and radio controls. I love the mileage. I'm moving from a 2018 Hyundai Ioniq Hybrid and I'm getting nearly identical mileage, the Ioniq is more efficient, by a mile or two, but the interior of the kia is way nicer. The seating position is excellent and better than the Ioniq. I didn't get my old car with Highway Driving Assist (HDA) so the Niro is my first experience and I'm a fan. My 35 minute commute one way is much less taxing. Most people don't actually use their vehicles in a way that an all wheel drive system would help in so, it is unnecessary. I test drove the first gen Niro vs the Ioniq and thought the Old Niro was loud. The sound insulation in my new Niro is superior to either the Ioniq or the Old Niro. The side front laminated glass really helps and is noticeable when I turn down my stereo system.
This video was very nice, great tour of beautiful Korean places! The car seems very good at what it is supposed to do, very efficient and calm drive. I wish it comes soon in Europe, too bad for the different crises going on at the moment. Any idea if KIA will build this in Slovakia, Europe as well?

Wow nice view of beautilful South Korea my father is a Korean war veteran from Canadian army forces, back then it was on the front in infantry i showed him this video and he was pleased to see some the beauty of the south Korea , and this is was not strange from our family to drive Hyunday's since 1985 and Kia Later. My Father is happy of the work they done in the front but not happy with the result , he sait we did not buttkick the north Korean enough no real winner and the danger is still there! In the States... the PHEV and EV models have the 'toaster' dial. But the HEV has a more traditional 'T' Shifter-Handle, so you get the best of both worlds with the 2023 Niro HEV model here.

Saw the first time the Kia Niro!! It looks good but Outside not so amazing. Inside it´s gorgeous. Charlie makes always the best informative Reviews. the Hybrid looks pretty good for me. I think this could be my next car. I don´t need no Plug in Hybrid but the Hybrid is the wright for me.

I'm really surprised that Kia didn't incorporate all-wheel drive into the redesign. At least in the U.S. these days, a lot of people in snowier climates don't even consider cars without it (even if snow tires are just as important). Nonetheless, this new Niro's design is growing on me, and the interior looks so much better than the previous generation. Will be strongly advising my mother to get an EV Niro for her next car in a few years!
Yes, 2022 all new Kia Niro does not come with AWD system. I think Kia is leaving the AWD system, so Kia Niro can stay more efficient. If you want AWD system, then you have to go to Kia Sportage. Thanks auqaticko.

Hi, loved the review. I have a current Niro PHEV. I am very happy with it. I am a bit concerned that the drivetrain technology has not moved on. Maybe the PHEV will be different. One thing I would criticise in my car is that tyre noise ca be intrusive on rough surfaces. Is the new one any better? Look forward to seeing you in the more electrified versions.
Great to be talking to Kia Niro Owner. Well, not brand new HEV powertrain, but Kia engineers made many adjustments especially with aerodynamics to improve noise and most importantly efficiency. I believe the contrasting C-pillar is borrowed from Audi R8 a la Peter Schreyer. Which is awesome, not R8 awesome but still the design cues are cutting edge. That's why Kia is killing it in their designs compared to sister company Hyundai. Keep on rolling out the awesome reviews Mr. Min🤜🤛

Ordered this car here in The Netherlands as a company lease. They expect demo cars in April and delivery of hybrid starting july. The DynamicPlus doesn't come with relax mode passenger seat, but aren't these seats capable to go into the same relax mode position manually? Also how is the sliding roof window? Does it open fully, does it have intermediate stages and how's the wind noise when open? Don't forget to test the automatic windows closing when entering tunnels just like switching to internal air circulation in tunnels.
Yes, the all new Kia Niro should be just great as a corporate car. Yes, seats are comfortable, even long distance journies. The Niro comes with just a regular sunroof, that opens not much. Thank you.

Kia Niro hev or Hyundai Kauai hev. The engine seems the same...? Kia seems more efficient, more crossover, more well done... ok more expensive to then hyundai kauai...and here we don't have the phev version. Can I ask yours opinion about both? Thank you!
I'm leasing a 2020 Niro EV and can't wait for your review of the 2023 Niro EV. I love the refreshed body style and don't mind the contrasting C-pillar when the body is silver and the pillar is black. The other combos look odd to me. This will likely be what I trade my Niro in for.
How good are interior space and noise insulation compared to 2022 Sportage? I'm thinking of upgrading to something bigger than a small city car and all the recent new Kia models look very attractive.
I think Kia Sportage is a slightly better, but too far off. Like I told you during the review, if you drive not too fast nicely isolated, if you start the drive off the limit, then you can hear tire noise and wind noise from the A pillar, but i would say pretty good for the class. Yes, Balo. I do agree, some people complain that two spoke steering wheel design is ugly, but if you do travel long distance, it's very comfortable.

My 35 minute commute one way is much less taxing. Most people don't actually use their vehicles in a way that an all wheel drive system would help in so, it is unnecessary. I test drove the first gen Niro vs the Ioniq and thought the Old Niro was loud. The sound insulation in my new Niro is superior to either the Ioniq or the Old Niro. The side front laminated glass really helps and is noticeable when I turn down my stereo system.
This video was very nice, great tour of beautiful Korean places! The car seems very good at what it is supposed to do, very efficient and calm drive. I wish it comes soon in Europe, too bad for the different crises going on at the moment. Any idea if KIA will build this in Slovakia, Europe as well?

i showed him this video and he was pleased to see some the beauty of the south Korea , and this is was not strange from our family to drive Hyunday's since 1985 and Kia Later. My Father is happy of the work they done in the front but not happy with the result , he sait we did not buttkick the north Korean enough no real winner and the danger is still there! In the States... the PHEV and EV models have the 'toaster' dial. But the HEV has a more traditional 'T' Shifter-Handle, so you get the best of both worlds with the 2023 Niro HEV model here.

I'm really surprised that Kia didn't incorporate all-wheel drive into the redesign. At least in the U.S. these days, a lot of people in snowier climates don't even consider cars without it (even if snow tires are just as important). Nonetheless, this new Niro's design is growing on me, and the interior looks so much better than the previous generation. Will be strongly advising my mother to get an EV Niro for her next car in a few years!
Yes, 2022 all new Kia Niro does not come with AWD system. I think Kia is leaving the AWD system, so Kia Niro can stay more efficient. If you want AWD system, then you have to go to Kia Sportage. Thanks auqaticko.

Hi, loved the review. I have a current Niro PHEV. I am very happy with it. I am a bit concerned that the drivetrain technology has not moved on. Maybe the PHEV will be different. One thing I would criticise in my car is that tyre noise ca be intrusive on rough surfaces. Is the new one any better? Look forward to seeing you in the more electrified versions.

I believe the contrasting C-pillar is borrowed from Audi R8 a la Peter Schreyer. Which is awesome, not R8 awesome but still the design cues are cutting edge. That's why Kia is killing it in their designs compared to sister company Hyundai. Keep on rolling out the awesome reviews Mr. Min🤜🤛

Ordered this car here in The Netherlands as a company lease. They expect demo cars in April and delivery of hybrid starting july. The DynamicPlus doesn't come with relax mode passenger seat, but aren't these seats capable to go into the same relax mode position manually? Also how is the sliding roof window? Does it open fully, does it have intermediate stages and how's the wind noise when open? Don't forget to test the automatic windows closing when entering tunnels just like switching to internal air circulation in tunnels.
Yes, the all new Kia Niro should be just great as a corporate car. Yes, seats are comfortable, even long distance journies. The Niro comes with just a regular sunroof, that opens not much. Thank you.

Kia Niro hev or Hyundai Kauai hev. The engine seems the same...? Kia seems more efficient, more crossover, more well done... ok more expensive to then hyundai kauai...and here we don't have the phev version. Can I ask yours opinion about both? Thank you!

How good are interior space and noise insulation compared to 2022 Sportage? I'm thinking of upgrading to something bigger than a small city car and all the recent new Kia models look very attractive.
I think Kia Sportage is a slightly better, but too far off. Like I told you during the review, if you drive not too fast nicely isolated, if you start the drive off the limit, then you can hear tire noise and wind noise from the A pillar, but i would say pretty good for the class.
