It's ridiculous that they even thought enforcing the use of a bone knife to harvest bodies was a good idea. If they were going to make you use something, you would think they'd at least have the foresight to use the broad weapon and tool classes (any knife or salvage tool, etc) instead of the lowest tier item, you know, in case of events exactly as occurred in this exact series. Every update I just wonder if tfp even _has_ a design department.
@@JFyre If the limit applies to 15 mags read (and not simply found), one could read 14 and then spend a few days collecting another bunch without reading them. Anyway, the learn by reading system keeps springing new leaks.
Hey Prebuilt you may wanna know this is in the patch notes for the update today "Armor Plating Mods and Banded Armor Plating Mods can no longer be installed into heavy armor to prevent immunity to damage due to stacking issues"
This... just loot POIs in the wasteland with some +loot and you'll be way ahead of the game. I didn't even find the POIs that challenging. Just hit up the POIs end loot that is easy to access. T5 armor like crazy when i was only seeing T1-2.

Looted a legendary part from something yesterday. The ones to craft level 6 items. Don't remember where I got it from, but at least they're not only from the traders.
they drop constantly from anywhere clothes could. the problem being that 99% of them are just cloth now with the remaining 1% split between armor parts and legendary parts.
Savage country's are great for legendary parts. I have come out of the small one with 6. Also, if you get all the books in wasteland adventurer it increases the drop rate of legendary parts.
I made first aid kits in Alpha 21 - it takes a large amount of cloth, lots of beers and you need to collect blood bags. So you need to grow hops and make beers. I had a large amount of them and really the only time you'd need to do that is for multiplayer. I just did it because I could.

Do the lab equipment stations give acid? Wondering if the tier 1 PoI with all those lab stations and the breaking floor would be worth looking for? Think it is called The Cook's House.
Funny stupid thing about tracking that harvest steel challenge. It will flag working vending machines as harvestable to complete challenge as well even though it would kill you to do so.
Until it inevitably gets nerfed, the Assassin armor's completion bonus is silly good: zombies stop searching for you the moment they lose sight of you. E.g. open a door and triggered an ambush? Shut the door and ambush avoided.
Reads patch notes, nothing regarding pre-digging straight down from Buried Supplies marker and almost everytime finding the loot within a 3x3 zone of the marker
SO far I am not sure if I happy with the XP nerfs to the game nor the game in general. Slowing down the early game creates more problems for players than it does anything else. Early game (game before lvl 25) is extremely tough to survive with the problems you have finding and maintaining hunger and thirst. Making this harder for players by keeping them in the early game, longer, is a bad approach. 7d2d isn't a very friendly "new" player game. The mechanics are VERY punishing if you don't know what you are doing and even for players with a good amount of time in the game, luck can play a very large part of your experience. If you get lucky and find a cooking pot, early, you have the chance to have clean water. Same with a grill. Otherwise, 90% of your game time is running around trying to find clean water and food so that you can go do the objectives in the game. If the game is being fully released this is a good opportunity for the dev's to dial in some of the strange game mechanics that make the game, a much less enjoyable experience. The book system is just terrible. It's absolutely terrible. At least create a way to CRAFT some of the books via some materials. Forcing players to hunt books in mailboxes and book piles and making that a random roll of the dice is just poor design. By the time you get enough books to make a decent weapon, quests from traders, no matter how rarely you do them, offer better rewards. Remember Iz, you guys have been playing this game for a LONG time. Old blood isn't going to up their revenue. They need to get new players interested in the game. Time to re-visit some of the clunky mechanics that make the game unenjoyable.
I will say after playing on a multiplayer server since the day they released the 1.0 beta we always looted better gear and weapons than we were able to craft. The only exception was armour which we only found 1 tier 6 piece in the first 100 in game days. Also noticed that in game day progression plays a very very big factor in game difficulty now. Feels much more impactful than it used to. Which is probably why by tier 2 quests we had 2+ radiated zombies per room while this man has 1 feral cop when drawing to the end of tier 3’s lol. Hugely agree that the game is not new player friendly. I was not overly looking forward to getting the game to play with everyone. And if I didn’t have experienced players dropping out all the key hints there’s a lot of stuff that would have taken me a lot more hours to figure out that would have made the game brutal to learn and play without that help. But the magazine reading aspect is a huge thing in need of fixing. I really like it. I think it’s neat think it’s cool. Adds a good aspect to the game. But the fact you can loot better gear and weapons than you can craft kinda makes the game feel pointless once you’ve achieved better gear in loot. Then crafting feels useless. And there’s no longer any better loot to get from loot crates. And once your crafting ability catches up you lose the desire to go do quests and get loot cuz the loot sucks compared to what you can craft and just becomes an utter ammo dump. All in all. Good game. Really enjoy it. Definitely needs a lot of polish before the real full release
is there any reason to go in the other biomes apart from doing the special quests to meet the trader...cuz alot of youtubers i have seen just make the base in forest biome and do all tier quests there...
The Fun Pimps made it so that no large cities spawn/generate in the forest biome. So if you’re happy with a more limited number of POIs, you could stay in the forest biome.
The other biomes have unique wildlife that may be of interest to you if you need meat along with natural plants which may be of value. The main benefit of the other biomes though is that they increase your loostage which will lead to better loot but it largely won't have an impact until you're a decently high level already so many people tend to wait until like level 30-40 or even as late as 60-80 before bothering with them for the purposes of better loot.
I feel like the stun baton is way over powered. Not only does it seem to have a very high chance to knock back and rag doll, but the distance they knock back is huge and also it electrifies them! Compared to the baseball bat it seems insane.
All the quest rewards that I've seen, even for tier 5 quests and completion are shit....You have to loot to get decent stuff now or make enough coin to buy good stuff from the traders...
One thing I've noticed about this "update" is that they're no longer justifying removing so much content from the game by pointing at the player count numbers. I've also noticed most people still playing say they reverted to A16.
Oh, I know you don't care about XP anymore, but I just saw a Jawoodle where he while wearing an XP boosting armor or mod (not sure which) it boosted the XP from challenge rewards. I at least find the interesting.
I disagree. The crowd control from the sledge has saved my wife and me in our playthrough. Assuming you get an ergonomic grip & kill a zombie, the stamina useage balances out. It would be nice if I didn't have to swap to a fully booked Steel Club to get a kill when my stamina gets low from not getting some kills with a sledge, but calling it trash is a bit much. If we had to worry a lot less about stamina, the Sledge would be the undisputed king of melee. Right now, it's good but more situational.
@@seanmcgrady8688In Alpha 21.2, that was true, but the higher health sponge zombies of 1.0 make the AoE lag. A quality level 5 iron sledgehammer, even with full mods and perks, is worse than a quality level 1 electric baton with no perks spent.
Good news (at least I think so). Just saw this one in the latest patchnotes (b312).
"Removed required held item from harvest challenges"
Bad news from the patch notes, Lockpicking only boosts forge ahead until 15/100 😭
