Awesome video! I am also working on The Vanilla Project for this year. It is basically A12-A16 but in 1.0. Its going to bring back as much as possible from tose Alphas including old recipes and schematics.
Well now, that is awesome news. The Vanilla Project is going to make a lot of those that have stuck with 7DtD very happy. I know many have wanted that for a long time. Various mods only do certain features, so this will be quite unique.

Well done on another banger video...any time i need to stay updated on the next overhaul i come to you for info...however i need to mention one quick thing...i made a series on I Am Legend overhaul mod and it does not work the way it's intended...unless they made some changes in the last couple of months...but from my experience the zombies still spawn during the day...and that's annoying since it takes away the purpose of the gameplay😁👍
Yeah, my son who did the footage for that one said he was unsure about the gameplay. It seemed a bit too normal like vanilla at times. I decided to tell it as it was intended as the dev was planning on some changes with version 1. Then I would do a proper analysis. Like you say, the intension is there there, but not in reality. I have chatted with Hells Janitor, so he is planning to update it. I HOPE it starts functioning as intended by then. If it doesn't then we will have to make that conclusion. Thanks :)
Thanks Aresisis :) Yeah, 7 Days to die overhauls is my main area. I try to follow as many as possible and provide news on them. Hopefully I can organise the time to keep going this time around.
@@SnowBee I'm still around. Still testing and giving ideas for Joke mod. I join Rizzo while he streams when he plays 7 days. Usually Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday mornings. Lately it's almost everyday because we're testing JM for V1.
@@redstonedad6434 Ahh, okay. I only sometimes look into the Apocalypse Now testing channel, though have not followed it much. I am glad to hear JM v1 is coming along then.
I made my own quality of life mods. Dew collector, for water. Health and stamina upgrade to 400 and 450. Stacking mods to allow you to carry more. Things like that. Nothing for power or any special powers. Oh I can actually run like zombies rather than a dead zombie bing able to tackle me on blood moon night. So very few changes only quality of life. I have played this game since the first release of the game. I am not an expert at the game but I do know how to play and survive, even without mods.
@@SnowBee making and installing mods is easy. Just wanted some quality of life stuff. Love the game. V1.0 still has some bugs and I have fallen through the map twice now.
Yeah, after Alpha 21, I am very hesitant to think it will be soon. I have a feeling it will be the last popular overhaul mod to get updated for v1 this year.
I started last week. Took about 5 days mainly working in the evenings. Then, this weekend many hours. What also happened is I had to redo three parts as the information changed. I could just put a disclaimer or statement on the screen like I did for "War of the Walkers", but I decided to change the script of those parts. The editing is the most time consuming. I was also told about another two mods and ended up adding them last night and today. So yeah, at this point the information changes fast.
Khaine has since laid out his commitments and appointments he must deal with. So it looks like a long time unfortunately. For once DF could be many months this time around, but yeah, certainly looking forward to version 6 of DF. :)
Yeah, I respect his gameplay a lot. He has come such a long way since his first DF video about two years ago. His videos are kicking butt and nerve-racking.
i am legend mod and never alone sure are some unique mods because aside from the horde nights, there are not that many zombies on the streets on in general
Well, from a number point of view, there are many, but if you mean actual variety, then certainly. It is amazing how a mod like "I am Legend" as only two different types, and STILL does not get boring :) My son played "28 Alphas Later", so I can't speak for that one, but "I am Legend" I played for about two hours, and I was honestly blown away had how scary it was. I am very curious if Hells Janitor will end up doing more movies. So far he is making these adaptions very well.
My first modded gameplay experience was playing valmod alpha 14 or something like that. I was looking for that while playing alpha 20 and 21 and I think its unfurtonetely also dead. Which of upcoming updated versions of overhauls are providing a class system like valmod did 100 years ago xD ?
Hmm, that "valmod" rings a bell. Does it have anything to do with ancient Valoween mod by Sphereii? Or am I getting that incorrect? If it is, then Winterween mod, which will be updated later in the year, has connections to it. I did a Winterween video on that last year. You can take a look for that under my channel. It does not have a class system though. I was not around for 7D2D alpha 14, but I think valmod used an action skill progression system, where you learnt everything by doing? If so, quite a few mods use that still. Most of the very popular mods have all moved to action skills, like Darkness Falls, Undead Legacy, Rebirth and now the new Afterlife is using that progression.
@@SnowBee yes it used skill progression and I think it used a class system too. Actually I dont know what changed but now I can find 6-7 years old gameplays of this mod. Strange I must have misspelled a name of this mod before. It was alpha 15 and 16. Not sure what happened then. A name of mod creator was Valmar and his idea was coppied in 2022 by Halmod creator.
Thanks for the vid. A question I have though is why some mods are not available on the mod launcher? I ask because you seem to know quite a bit about these mods.
Hi jerry Many mods are not available on the ML yet. However, if you are looking for Alpha 21 mods, they there is an option that allows you to select the alpha version. So, by default it will only show you version 1 mods, which are hardly any. If you are wondering why some popular ones are not there, it is because not everyone uses the mod launcher for their mod.
I honestly hope that console could get mods I mean if they want more people they should do it I mean fallout 4 had mods and it was good so I could definitely see them for 7 days but I highly doubt
Yeah, I believe the Fallout mods was quite a battle to get sorted. There can be basic mods, but the custom code that gets done with more of the advanced mods and large overhauls is very unlikely. However, we can hope.
Yeah, I am so looking forward to it. I have not played it enough to experience any bugs, but I know Redbeard is working pretty hard with it. It definitely is on my top 5 mods right now.
Is there a texture mod that recaptures the original game's textures but with higher resolution? For example, the pistol texture looks like it was made back in 2007. I do not want completely different textures to the original textures. Just "upscaled."
No, I don't believe there are any yet. I mentioned earlier to someone I know there was a reshadding graphics mod for A21, but other than that I don't know. Quite often any changes are only made for the particular overhaul mod or maybe that particular weapons mod.
For some reason I read the title wrong and though Undead Legacy finally updated, and actually flinched so hard, till i read it again and I was heartbroken😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Yeah, it is such a great mod, I fear it will be one of the last to update. :( However, there is a mod that I think is going to inch towards the top 5 of overhaul mods. I think it will be an UL rival when it comes to a mod that also does weight management. Take a look at Afterlife. Most excellent mod even though it is pretty new.
I think around the 20 minute mark is where I chat about Afterlife. That assault rifle at the start of the segment sounds so authentic. As much as the mod is not UL, its skill and inventory system has a number of similarities, and is very polished. There are fewer custom weapons when compared to UL, but they are well done.
Thank you modder demi-gods, for adding thousands of hours of replayability to 7D2D for free! Please tip your modders, and I'm sorry to hear some are experiencing issues IRL. Good luck y'all! Best wishes and regards!
I really hate the newish POI's and the changes to progression. These are examples of things that worked way better before they tried to fix them. The POI implementation effectively fragments the map separating indoor locations with challenges from having organic interactions with the outside world and player progression has been reduced to collecting magazines for some reason. I'd kill for an overhaul that keeps everything good but also rolls back to when freedom and emergent sandbox gameplay were at their peak.
Hmm, interesting comment. I assume you have tried Darkness Falls? Khaine created the PEP after the fallout over the Compo Pack about two years ago. The POI Expansion Pack has many old school ... very old POI's in it. Alpha 16 to A20, many without the crappy zombie appear-out-of-thin-air triggers we have today.
@@SnowBee Yeah I did back when it was new. I've been away from the game for a few years and am disappointed by the 2024 state of vanilla. I think zombies spawning out of nowhere is what really irritates me because below A16 the entire world was persistent but now it's like fighting zombies has turned into an exclusive minigame that has nothing to do with the larger world. It's an attempt at over perfection in my opinion. My great Grandmother was a semi famous painter and she'd be the first to know if she'd over corrected her own work, she saw that as weakness, a despicable and emotionally driven act that could render many days of work useless to her eyes. She would burn the work that made her feel this way. In that sense my tastes are a genetic pathology.
Yip. that is what we live with. The game is going to lag... especially with the big overhauls. I don't see it ever getting better. We have had many mini performance upgrades, but it doesn't make a massive difference. I think this time around things got a bit worse with version 1.
Hey socialgamer Well, it is done in a different engine, so it would not be from unreal. Every now and then some modders release game performance mods, but it is not common. I know there was a reshading graphics overhaul some months ago for alpha 21, but besides that I don't know.
Sorry, I was working most of the day, so back home and only responding now. I am sure you have found it elsewhere by now, but here is the link: 7d2dmodlauncher.org/ The discord is on that page as well.
Well, you are not the only one that wants to know this :) In my opinion, the most polished mods in the past two years have usually been Rebirth and Undead Legacy. Sorcery Mod is more of an add on to vanilla, but is also well polished. I do think Afterlife is going to kick butt as well. Right now, I would suggest playing Undead Legacy for a great polished mod, albeit, alpha 20. If not, then you can try the alpha 21.2 Afterlife mod, but it is quite difficult. If you become a Rebirth Patreon, you can join the testing group and play a version 1 of Rebirth. It is not out yet, and there are still many bugs to fix, but it is very playable.
@amak8935 Yeah, I have not done a horde night yet. I need to play the mod more to get a better understanding of it. Right now I am juggling with play testing Afterlife, Rebirth, and setting up an updated Darkness Falls guide for farming. Hopefully I can get to playing more Never Alone at some point this month.

Why does Age of Oblivion not work? Just followed your guide, with the files from the spot you'd mentioned, but yet the game doesn't start. All that happens is the title shows, but not buttons to start / options / exit, etc. and there's a handful of errors in the command prompt that pop up.
@SnowBee oh shoot, that's probably it then. I'm on 1.0 :( I think I have a A21.2 common file game saved to my desktop - I'll move the mod to that and try it tonight - thank you

I remember using it yesterday. As soon as I entered the trader, I instantly saw a radioactive big mamma outside waiting to feast on my guts (I was still wearing level 1 primitive armor, as well as same level wooden club) and then I instantly said "NOPE" and kinda disabled the mod. Huge flying crawlers were still there, but radioactive zombies wouldn't appear before day 30 or sum.

I think I can consider my mods folder an overhaul, I'm at 200 mods now LMAO.
GLAD TO HAVE YOU BACK :D :D
Oh wow, yeah, that I have not seen. My youngest son will have 150 to 200 minecraft mods, but I have never heard of that for 7D2D :)
@@SnowBee yeah it's my own personal overhaul lol
Thanks SnowBee, you're much appreciated!
Thank you too for watching :)
Welcome back!
Nicky! Thanks :)
7DTD is hands down the greatest horror survival game ever created.
It certainly has replayability with mods :)
For me, I also enjoy Project Zomboid, and the new VEIN zombie game is going to kick butt quite nicely once it is finished, hopefully.
@@SnowBee Absolutely, the replayability with mods makes 7DTD even better! Project Zomboid is a fantastic choice too. I'll have to check out VEIN-it sounds promising! Thanks for the recommendation.
Thank you for the information wayward echo sent me to you because I've never heard of you and thank you for the in-depth discussion of all the mods does an army veteran I enjoy certain aspects of the survival I'm not an FPS personification of perfection keep up the good work with your son
Thanks derik :)
Welcome back!!! We missed you.
Thank you Brian :)
Thanks :)
this was exactly what i've been looking for. subbed
Thanks Aresisis :)
Yeah, 7 Days to die overhauls is my main area. I try to follow as many as possible and provide news on them. Hopefully I can organise the time to keep going this time around.
Thanks so much for the info !
SnowBeee is back in Biz Ladys and Gents.
Glad to see you back and of course all the good Videos from now on
Thanks :)
Nice to see you back Bee!
Hey Tim, I was unsure if you were around still as well :)
Glad you are. I hope you are doing well.
Can't wait for steam workshop to have these so people can easily install the mods
Yeah, it will certainly make life so much easier.
Heck ya he’s back at it.
Hell yeah! :)
Excellent. I think you need to play a lot more with mods in that case. Sounds like you need more of a challenge? :)
@@SnowBee making and installing mods is easy. Just wanted some quality of life stuff. Love the game. V1.0 still has some bugs and I have fallen through the map twice now.
Welcome back SnowBee
Thank you :)
As someone who plays mainly the Mods appreciate the update, it's difficult keeping up with all the various statuses of them.
Thanks G0ldfingers :)
Great conclusion, as always!
Glad you think so :) Thanks! :)
Yay, new Snowbee!
Hey ShadKats :)
Hope we can play undead legacy in september - December 🙏🙏🙏
Yeah, after Alpha 21, I am very hesitant to think it will be soon. I have a feeling it will be the last popular overhaul mod to get updated for v1 this year.
It must take hours to put this together. Well done, thanks bee.
So happy you're back
Me too :)
Verry informativ video, thx. Like goes out.
Thanks :)
If things go well, Spencer Mansion Incident could be out by the 5th of August
Nice! That is a pleasant surprise :)
I cant wait for Darkness Falls!
Khaine has since laid out his commitments and appointments he must deal with. So it looks like a long time unfortunately. For once DF could be many months this time around, but yeah, certainly looking forward to version 6 of DF. :)
Missed you man. Real life always comes first of course, if I can help you in any way let me know. Your videos are stellar.
Thanks Diane :)
23:00 OHG is probably the best player on youtube. How many people do you know can survive that long in Darkness Falls without dying or cheating?
Ahh, he just gets lucky most of the time 😅
Yeah, I respect his gameplay a lot. He has come such a long way since his first DF video about two years ago. His videos are kicking butt and nerve-racking.
He's ALIVE!!!
Haha, if I could post a Frankenstein gif here, I would :)
Indeed I am!
i am legend mod and never alone sure are some unique mods because aside from the horde nights, there are not that many zombies on the streets on in general
Well, from a number point of view, there are many, but if you mean actual variety, then certainly. It is amazing how a mod like "I am Legend" as only two different types, and STILL does not get boring :)
My son played "28 Alphas Later", so I can't speak for that one, but "I am Legend" I played for about two hours, and I was honestly blown away had how scary it was. I am very curious if Hells Janitor will end up doing more movies. So far he is making these adaptions very well.
Nice one Mr Bee it feels like its been an age.
Yip, you are right, it does seem like it. I guess 5 or 7 months is an age.
As of today, 7 Days launcher already has for 1.0: Backpacker Challenge, Dishong Tower, Preppocalypse, War3zuk AIO Overhaul, War3zuk Farmlife.
Hi Gutlard
Did you watch the video? Just curious as I did mention a number of available v1 overhauls. :)
@@SnowBee Yes, I love your videos. But I'm lazy, and only fart around with mods that hit the 7 Days Launcher, so I can push 1 button... haha
@@Gutlard haha, no problem :)
@@ostrakrewetka7604 I know I reported on a "Halmod's mod" last year if I recall.
Waiting fir undead legacy before updating vanilla, doubt I'll be playing vanilla this release.
Well, you have a lot of choice once all the version 1's starting popping. :)
Thanks for the vid.
A question I have though is why some mods are not available on the mod launcher? I ask because you seem to know quite a bit about these mods.
Hi jerry
Many mods are not available on the ML yet.
TY for the excellent recap.
Thanks for watching :)
I really hope Afterlife fixes it's bugs and some flaws. After that and 1.0 update for the mod it will be fire. I am sure about it.
Yeah, I am so looking forward to it. I have not played it enough to experience any bugs, but I know Redbeard is working pretty hard with it. It definitely is on my top 5 mods right now.
Awesome. Ty.
You're welcome!
Info bee is back long time no see glad u are good
Haha, thanks for the "info" compliment :)
@SnowBee hopefully they won't change the game too much to the point of deleting saves so modders could start making mods for it.
For some reason I read the title wrong and though Undead Legacy finally updated, and actually flinched so hard, till i read it again and I was heartbroken😭😭😭😭😭😭😭😭
Yeah, it is such a great mod, I fear it will be one of the last to update. :(
However, there is a mod that I think is going to inch towards the top 5 of overhaul mods. I think it will be an UL rival when it comes to a mod that also does weight management. Take a look at Afterlife. Most excellent mod even though it is pretty new.
@@SnowBee Ooooh thank you for the suggestion!! I really do like the weight management system UL has implemented.
Yip, this is important. Many take the modders for granted. So many of these devs do it for the joy of modding.
So close to 10k! Any day now!
Yeah, it is :)
Thanks for watching
Takes me 0.1 seconds to recognise a fellow saffa
Yes! Those accents are pretty unique :)
I just need a mod thats big but doesnt lagg on good pcs :(
Yip. that is what we live with. The game is going to lag... especially with the big overhauls. I don't see it ever getting better. We have had many mini performance upgrades, but it doesn't make a massive difference. I think this time around things got a bit worse with version 1.
@@SnowBeeYes, my friends and i feel the new version feels worse for some reasom

Hey Gato, and thank you for watching :)
Subscribing for updates on these!
Thanks, I appreciate it. Glad to have you onboard :)
Has there ever been a complete graphics overhaul? Like an unreal engine upgrade, or is that too far?
Hey socialgamer
Well, it is done in a different engine, so it would not be from unreal.
Every now and then some modders release game performance mods, but it is not common. I know there was a reshading graphics overhaul some months ago for alpha 21, but besides that I don't know.
@@SnowBee oh nice, thanks for the insight. Great content. Thank you 👌
Where's a legit place to download the mod manager? There seems to be a few of them in several places.
Sorry, I was working most of the day, so back home and only responding now.
I am sure you have found it elsewhere by now, but here is the link: 7d2dmodlauncher.org/
The discord is on that page as well.
I know a bunch of people will have different opinions but what will be the BEST mod to play? Stuff that adds the most, most polished, and just better
Well, you are not the only one that wants to know this :)
In my opinion, the most polished mods in the past two years have usually been Rebirth and Undead Legacy.
@@SnowBee ok hell yea! I will definitely give rebirth a try with my buddy. Thank you for the reply! I’ll try out undead legacy too.
@@drewtube2383 Good to hear, happy to help. :)
“Never Alone “ mod.. how the hell is the Horde Night even looks like if in the normal game day I’ll be ambushed by zombies left and right? 😅
@@SnowBee thank you for the amazing videos and also Welcome back. I wish you all the best.

We were getting worried about you after 6 months.......
Yeah, it has certainly been a while. Glad I am not totally forgotten, haha :)
Why does Age of Oblivion not work?
Just followed your guide, with the files from the spot you'd mentioned, but yet the game doesn't start. All that happens is the title shows, but not buttons to start / options / exit, etc. and there's a handful of errors in the command prompt that pop up.
Are you using Alpha 21.2 stable? In the past it was always a version issue that was wrong.
@SnowBee oh shoot, that's probably it then. I'm on 1.0 :( I think I have a A21.2 common file game saved to my desktop - I'll move the mod to that and try it tonight - thank you
@@SnowBee Just tried using Alpha 21.2 and when I click "New Game" it shows 2 errors continuously and infinitely being repeated:
[timestamp] ERR [XUi] Error while updating window group' newContinueGame'
[timestamp] EXC Object reference not set to an instance of an object
Not sure what those mean. :(
@@zombeastification I took at look at my version now. When running the game It shows Alpha 21.2 (b30) in the top right corner of the opening screen. The version it says in the middle of the opening screen is AOO A7.10.21.2 Stable. I can see my screen menu under General is a bit strange, as the Max Animals does not show correctly. However, it did work. I ran the "pregen with amusement park 8k" map.
@@SnowBee Hi there! TH-cam didn't give me a push notification like normal. When I boot up the game (AOO), in the top right it shows Alpha 21.2 (b37) - Should I only use the B30 build?
Additionally the AOO version is A7.10.21.2 Stable, just as yours is.

Isn't war3zuks overhaul the one that spawns radioactive zombies from the day one?
Unfortunately I am unsure, but this mod does have a lot of radioactive zombies in it.
I remember using it yesterday. As soon as I entered the trader, I instantly saw a radioactive big mamma outside waiting to feast on my guts (I was still wearing level 1 primitive armor, as well as same level wooden club) and then I instantly said "NOPE" and kinda disabled the mod.
Although i remember mod being less difficult and almost felt like vanilla+ modpack in alpha 20 or 21. Huge flying crawlers were still there, but radioactive zombies wouldn't appear before day 30 or sum.
@howl9311 Thanks. There has been a general difficulty increase creep through most overhaul mods the past two alphas that I have noticed. Even vanilla has done this.
any news about map generators?
Hi Ezerox
I don't usually follow the map generators, but you can try Teragon. I believe there is a version 1 or testing version 1 application out. community.7daystodie.com/topic/35308-teragon-random-map-generator/
