    I used to be a strong young woman who built many things in her day. Now I'm old and out of shape, but your videos have inspired me to get back in shape and build my own shed soon. Thank you Jesse!! Your videos are straight forward (no music, TY) and upbeat. Keep up the good work!

    I could really use a shed like that in my backyard but with lumber prices being a bit high right now I think I'll wait and see if the prices drop some ! You did a good job with this build and I will watch all of your videos on this anyways so thanks for posting !

    Hey, I just watched your most recent shed build and learned a great tip from it. Now, watching this older video, you taught an even more valuable trick; creating pocket holes with just your drill. THUMBS 👍 👍 UP!! And Thanks.

    What people FAIL to realize is, Building a Shed Cost ABOUT Half Or Less than Buying One... EXAMPLE ONLY! Buy a 8x10 Shed for $5,000 and by the time you pay it off, you spent About $10,000.. Or Do like He did here and What I did, I BUILT a 10x10 For Under $1,000.

I watched 1000s of videos but all the videos I watched make the whole process too boring and they are dragging with their explanation. • @JessedoesDIY
      @JessedoesDIY  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thanks, I'm glad you like them. That's why I built it the way I did, I didn't use any fancy tools, just a drill and saw so anybody can do it. Whatever saw you have that can cut wood is fine. I'd suggest getting even an inexpensive impact driver tho, it's much faster and takes all the rotational strain from the screw going in off your wrist and arm. After that many screws, your arm will thank you lol. Good luck on yours!

    I believe the cross brace in the door should angle the other way to prevent sagging.

    • @JessedoesDIY
      @JessedoesDIY  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      Wasn't really to prevent sagging, was more to sturdy up the OSB in the middle of the door so it had material behind it. Because the frame of the door is attached to the OSB that keeps it square, it really shouldn't sag unless the hinges start moving

    As I will be building a shed in near future, I was glad to discover this series - it’s straight forward and easy to follow… I can do this! One question, though, about your hurricane ties - do you put them on the same side of each end of the ceiling joist, or stagger them on opposite sides of the same joist?

    • @JessedoesDIY
      @JessedoesDIY  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      That's awesome! That was my hope was to make it simple and easy to follow. You can absolutely do it! The ties will go on the same side of the joist. Good luck on yours and keep me posted! Love to see it when its done

    Hi Jesse.
    Thank you so much for getting back to me in such a timely fashion. I am going to take your advice and go with the same roof as you did, after all it does make sense. One small question which I may already have the answer for but would like to hear from you. I see that the back and side walls are shorter than the front wall and I understand that this is for the pitch of the roof. so the question is, what size are the heights of the back, sides and front walls. I'm guessing 7' back and sides, 8' front. Please correct me. Thank you so much.
    Paul.

    • @JessedoesDIY
      @JessedoesDIY  ปีที่แล้ว

      No problem. The rear and side walls are about 6.5' to the top of the top plate and the front wall is just under 8' by a couple inches. That way I had plenty of room inside and wouldn't have to worry about hitting my head on anything, and for the front walls I wouldn't have to cut a sheet, I could just use a full 8' long sheet once it overlapped the floor framing. All the supplies, measurments, materials and lengths are all in the plans if you want more info. I tried my best to make them very thorough. Hope that helps!

    I probably would have put the door brace on the other diagonal but otherwise really cool 😎.

    • @JessedoesDIY
      @JessedoesDIY  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It wasn't a brace, doesn't need it because the odb sheet prevents it from sagging. It was just something to give me material to screw the osb to so it had some structure instead of being soft in the middle of the door. Glad you liked it tho

  • @rileysowner

    This is probably the most helpful video series on building a shed. We have made great progress on our build, but there is one hick-up. It wasn't until I had the front wall up that I noticed that someone (maybe me, maybe my wife) didn't line up the king stud properly. It was about 1/8 to 3/16 of an inch toward the wall making the opening slightly larger that it should be on the bottom. My thought on dealing with that is cut out the bottom plate where the king stud edge was supposed to be, then using a bunch of shims I can line up the rest of the jack stud to the correct width so the door will fit. Do you have any thoughts?
    We have rain coming for the next several days, so I won't be getting back to this until 3 days from now, so I won't be proceeding until the rain is passed.

    • @JessedoesDIY
      @JessedoesDIY  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks! I'm glad I could help and that you found it useful. Super pumped you're giving it a go! Yeah, that'll work. Like I said, nice thing about a shed is there you have some liberties and slack since it isn't a dwelling. It makes it great practice to learn on. You can shim it over, or completely cut them out with a recip saw along the plates and move them over, then cut the bottom plate after. Whatever is easiest! Good luck on the rest of it and keep me posted, I'd love to see it when you're done!
