the gk61 is a good starter board for new pc gamers. but if this Logitech board was even 40 bucks i would not tell anyone about it or recommend it lmfao, and the gk61 I've recommended to many.
I'd honestly fire the product manager on the spot. This is completely unacceptable. 180 dollars is another price increase when keyboards are getting cheaper and more refined with each release. God save Logitech at this point. Huge L once again...
Having a keyboard from 5 years ago at the same price as a set a really nice custom is just sad And that typing sound is brutal, sound like a $20 cheap a*s keyboard
The saddest thing is that for $180 they give you a $50 crappy keyboard. When there are options like the Womier S-K71 which is full aluminum, plus it feels and sounds incredible for a modest price of $80-90
I upgraded from my Logitech G915 to a Varmilo Minilo. Even though it's plastic it's such a big upgrade. I don't miss the key rattle, or lack of gasket, no dampening, bad stabilizer, proprietary keys etc...
If you want to know why Logitech advertises "Key Control" as a feature I think it is because for years now they never had a keyboard that could be fully customisable with the macros and remapping on each key and only on their keyboards that contained macro keys on the side did they have this available as a feature and even then only those specific macro keys on the side were customisable and not the rest of the keys. As far I am aware Corsair was the first with this feature which they added to their very first K70 RGB which BTW was the very first RGB mechanical keyboard and it also had per key RGB lighting and was the first for that too because before that any keyboard that did have backlighting only had a single colour and when the keyboard did have a lighting effect it would just be some sort of flicker where all switches would change together in synchronization. Corsair working together with Cherry pioneered RGB mechanical switches that could be individually controlled back in 2014 and that was a WHOLE ASS DECADE AGO. Logitech took 10 years to do that When looking at this so called "Key Control" feature from the perspective I just talked about it is all the more shocking as to why it is being advertised as a feature which has been given its own special name. because NO ONE ELSE advertises it as a feature let alone give the feature a specific "cool name" since they have gone and done that feature years ago. I remember I think it was JayzTwoCents who did a video on a Logitech full size wireless keyboard like 3 years ago and was shocked they did not have remappable keys on that keyboard except for the macro keys on the side
Logitech released this as if the HE keyboards didn't exist. They probably put more money into the office space products than the gaming since I see a ton of the office products ads lately.
That intro and ending were so damn good. I don't even care about the keyboard but now I do. I care how much it sucks because you did this video so well. They need to really take notes from all your points as much as they should know this stuff already.
i figured put the problem at the section where you shake the keyboards... its that you assume there are pros playing on keyboard... not once has there been a pro on keyboard...
I love that you dumped on this (rightly so) and weren't put off by all the idiots calling out MKBHD for being honest. Companies are getting desperately greedy and need to do better for their community. GG Frank!
I bought a Logitech G512 SE many years ago. only to discover it required two USB connections! I would use it with my laptop so that was a no-go. I still have not found a machine to use it with that I can spare two USB ports. Apparently one is for data and the other is to power the lighting!
I bought one from a sale, it was 150e. I actually liked the keycaps, but the formfactor was the issue for me. With G515 keycaps were not to my liking but layout was perfect. I preordered Logitech Rapid, I think it will be perfect for my use...hopefully. I do not like clicky caps. Currently I own G910, and it has served me well :)
Even if it was a $100 keyboard like you said how it would he an okay deal with it was id still pass because you can get a little bit more for something like a drunkdeer or another oem type hall effect keyboard which would be miles better
I'll never understand this trend of keyboards that require layers/chords for basic functionality you use every day. Unless it's just to look pretty on a desk where someone never actually uses their computer. Even if you only ever play games and nothing else, you still need the cursor and function keys often enough that they're worth the TINY bit of extra space.
Similar boards are available for around $50. I have to nitpick about the negativity on 1kHz polling rate, though. Fractions of a millisecond is absolutely tiny compared to anything else involved in a key press. If the point was that you can't go slower, I'd like to have seen where that matters - other than technically not having control over it. With the mentioned best gaming keyboard, the polling rate is changeable but at 1kHz at max.
Can someone explain the “logic” behind “logic”tech of how they make a bluetooth gaming keyboard but almost none of their mouse actually has bluetooth? So they think having wireless keyboard and mouse with cable is really what we much prefer?
This really should've had the PowerPlay treatment and had actual support for aftermarket optical switches. Then I can see a point for it costing the way it does.
Mr. Frank, my buddy was in need of a windows key. I remembered watching one of your videos way back when, and you plugged a website for buying windows keys. Do you remember what the website was?
My suggestion is Logitech should make a 65% and 76% version, cause it has the arrow key. Plus upgrade the G305/304 mouse to 60 gram. These 2 should sell well. Heck even a low profile slim version with 65 or 75 % would be nice...like keychron.
Holy shit 180..... Bro my Razer Blackwidow Tourmey was 120 with a steel body and its going on 8yrs of heavy WoW and FF14 abuse. Half the rgb doesn't display properly as of the past year. But the keyboard its self works like a tank. The only reason I'm thinking of replacing it is to get slightly quieter switches. But logitech can keep that shit.
Just buy the G915 TKL which is metal also note you cannot order new keycaps for it, so don't break one. Are these MX compatible keycaps if so just get rubber bumpers.
Man I hate how these are such good videos but they get no views and the comments are almost all bots. But keep it up! Keep making these awesome videos. I also think it's crazy how a big company like logitech can get away with this. I mean they have some pretty good other products, but holy, this ones bad.
The funny thing is their Logitech MX Mechanical line (I'm using the Mini Tactile Quiet version here) has far-better build quality than this. They can do way better than this with their business- and productivity-focused product lines, but it seems like their gaming division dropped the ball hard here.
Logitech's keys are almost always rattling and loose. Even their $230 G915 has rattly ass switches. Edit: and don't even get me started on the f-cking micro USB. Logitech makes me sick.
We are at an era of keyboards where doing absolutely nothing special is considered bad. That is a good thing but it makes it harder and harder for new companies to stand out
My Logitech G710+, which I believe was Logitech's first mech keyboard, was giving up the goat on a few keys after 11+ years of use. Looked around and ended up on the Wooting 60HE+ and honestly couldn't be happier. I have Logitech's Superlight 2 (got it for Christmas) and it's been a great mouse, but in general I agree that Logitech is charging far too much for a lot of their stuff as of late. If this Pro X 60 came out and had rapid trigger keys but Logitech's software that would let me set profiles per game and automatically switch to those profiles when I launch the game? I might have canceled my order and stuck with Logitech. I also really like their Lightspeed wireless tech for my mouse, and having the same tech for my keyboard to be fully wireless would have been fantastic. I've generally liked Logitech gear and at one point nearly all of my peripherals (speakers, mouse, keyboard, headset, webcam, mouse pad/mat) were all Logitech. My headset gave up the goat pretty quickly (partially my fault), and when my keyboard finally did as well nothing of what Logitech offered made sense for the spend.
i like how they started from inexpensive but really good quality to cheap but pricey products, like their last par of headset they released for 250$ with little to no improvement just that they are wireless
Not surprising since they somehow struck a goldmine with the GPX, now they're trying to see what sticks to the wall while keeping the outrageous price.
You can get the pre-built version of the Luminkey65 for 179 bucks. That's a true, proper (gasket mount, aluminium case, copper weight) custom keyboard.
I think the point of the price is when it goes on sale, probably soon, it's more enticing for the less Keyboard inclined to buy it cause of how much they're "saving". Though maybe that's me giving them too much credit and they expect people to really spend enough money to buy this keyboard instead of a used nintendo switch lite or something.
Even the $100 8BitDo and the $50 Redragon hot swappable keyboards have foam and silicone gaskets to dampen sound as well as giving you quality and lubricated stabilizers.
As said before the switches are the only redeeming quality, because I wanted Logitech to make a optical/hall effect keyboard so hopefully they can learn from it to make better keyboard with better optical/hall effect switches
Im so glad to see randomfrankP still doing content after so long. I remeber being 14, drooling over some of the tech shown on this channell. Im now 20, and here we are still. Always loved your content.
I've moved on from opticals, but the last optical keyboard I had was better than this one. It was optical, had better switches, and was about 50 bucks. Even had the foam that Frank talks about between the plate and the PCB.
I was kind of shocked at first on how different your intro went but it's very clear how anyone would be frustrated if a company that u praised for years suddenly throws an apple move of selling the brand without innovation. Basically paying for the brand's name at this point. Hopefully your video lets logitech fix this lackluster kind of a keyboard
Logitech has been doing this for a while. Which is why I switched to Redragon a while ago and haven't looked back. Still use a G502, but that's about it for Logitech nowadays.
I have a few keyboards and this is my favorite, it's so good for spamming spells in games when the cool down is less the .5 seconds and the build quality is great. To each there own, but just be careful of the biases that are predisposing you to have your opinion
i have the logitech 915 which i got because im used to laptop keyboards and really liked the switches. after about 2 years these keycaps are borderline offensive with how bad they rattle. honestly regret it. think im going to avoid logitech in the future
How would I be able to properly game when Logitech never tested their mice and mousepads with other keyboards, honestly this is the next step forward for them I can finally get off my pro x tkl for a smaller keyboard finally letting me tilt. my keyboard enabling me to achieve +15 aim by tilting this on my logitech desk. I hope logitech makes a monitor soon because Ive been struggling to improve with my logitech mouse on my logitech mousepad and my dreams of becoming exactly like Shroud who definitely has a secret Logitech Monitor.
are you willing to look into Logitech MX master 3's mice being absolutely terrible quality and pealing of after around 1 year of using them? reddit is full of examples but no tech TH-camr is willing to talk about this after they all promoted this mouse
How dya code in 60% keyboard? No Home, End, PgUp, PgDwn. Only keep pressing arrow key to move the cursor to the spot you need takes a while. Serious question.
Not everyone wants rapid trigger... which is ok. What they fail to grasp is that in 2024... shoot even 2023 there are a lot of full AL custom boards you can build for less. Truly you can get a tri-mode Neo65 and built it for less or a fully built Lumikey 65 for about the same price. Either of those board will sound better, look better, last longer and give the owner years of service plus the ability to customize... OH and both can remap keys from a website rather than propriety software.
YUP!!! gotta hold these companies accountable especially industry leaders, otherwise they will push any old product out and smack the label of innovation on it because they know everyone will still purchase it.
This really does look like a board that Logitech forgot to release 7 years ago
I think they were in a rush... they have a life too like mabye need to hurry cuz there flight is on the move or whatever
@@JB-DJ But for $180, just nah. U could just get a better keyboard for under $100
agree :D
Yeah and double so compared to recent Corsair's outing, even they defected to the 2020s already
Logitech increasing prizes but same quality
where is this prize they are giving out
As do alot of brands
(*prices ) but yeah inflation and what not ig im more and more inclined to choose these newer/smaller brands like wooting etc
Literal shrinkflation of tech
Worse quality*. They used to use better switches that weren't proprietary
The intro really spoke 1000 words about this keyboard
buy logitech mice, do not buy logitech anything else. simples!!!
I rarely comment but it’s really nice to see a big reviewer calling out a big company’s bullshit 🎉
Wow, I don't think I've ever seen him this disappointed in a product. Thanks for the honesty Frank!
That intro implying the keyboard is a POS I love that 💀
why do i feel like logitech just mass ordered it from alibaba like a custom RJ61 or GK61
Please don’t compare it to keyboards that are actually good for the price 😂😂
I own a the Gk61 is a god send
@@ambasing69basically it is a GK61 with a massive price hike from greedy Logitech. @techNo1geek made an accurate statement.

the gk61 is a good starter board for new pc gamers. but if this Logitech board was even 40 bucks i would not tell anyone about it or recommend it lmfao, and the gk61 I've recommended to many.
That shake test got me LMAOOOOO
God that sounds awful, like a bag of rocks.
my 915 is painfully similar
I’m not retarded but I like rocks
@@bradhaines3142 wow I was about to say the same thing about my g915!
I'd honestly fire the product manager on the spot. This is completely unacceptable. 180 dollars is another price increase when keyboards are getting cheaper and more refined with each release. God save Logitech at this point. Huge L once again...

Damn $180, I'd expect machined aluminum body.
Ah shit, now we only need marques to drop a bad review on it & we getting rid of Logitech with this one
I know a lot of focus has been brought to the intro, but the abruptness of the ending? That is the exclamation point to your "No thanks" right there.
To be fair, he used a fade to black rather than a hard cut. Haha
I have a G915 TKL, It bogels my mind how much more expensive this is. At least the G915 has a metal brushed plate on it.
The saddest thing is that for $180 they give you a $50 crappy keyboard. When there are options like the Womier S-K71 which is full aluminum, plus it feels and sounds incredible for a modest price of $80-90
I'm dead happy to see some negative reviews because that means being brutally honest for the viewers.
The best part about this keyboard is the promotional ASMR unboxing video they released was more of a warning than an ad
Even the Windows key has the old ass logo from 4 years ago
I upgraded from my Logitech G915 to a Varmilo Minilo. Even though it's plastic it's such a big upgrade. I don't miss the key rattle, or lack of gasket, no dampening, bad stabilizer, proprietary keys etc...
Keyboard designer: I can design a new keyboard that cost noting to make but charge an arm and a leg
Logitech: You are promoted
have you noticed they kept designing but not acknowledging economic elasticity?
Imagine _Redragon_ (of all the companies) having a K617 with magnetic switch and 8k, while Logitech has this thing, oh boy.
That intro is CRAZY LOL!
180 for a green PCB is crazy

i figured put the problem at the section where you shake the keyboards... its that you assume there are pros playing on keyboard... not once has there been a pro on keyboard...
The clicking of the pen for sound reference at the start is a great basis. Kudos to the person who came up with it.
The Intro dudeee 💀 bruh iam dead
@Logitech at this price point you need hotswappable hall-effect (ideally universal) switches if you want to actually sell this
