I was a tower controller at MCAS El Toro in the early 70's. We had 4 F-4 squadrons on base. On takeoff they passed the tower a few hundred feet to the south, right at eye level in full afterburner. Thanks for the excellent video.
I was in TJ frequently on our c130 rotation from Mcchord AFB. We had a required maintenance 4 engine full power ck list that could only be done at the end of the runway. I'm a snot nosed crew chief riding on the Herk and as the A/C was doing the power checks, a few or so F4s took off in front of us at 4am. The roar was substantial and as the Herk was at full power, the afterburner on the F4s were knocking the shit out of us.
Was stationed at McGuire afb in new Jersey, I actually picked up the atc tower in my radio in the barracks. It must of been a fluke, somehow caught the same frequency that night. 😮
I watched f4s at Torrejon ab in Spain . C130 crewchief on a priority 1 c130 doing a 4 engine performance check. I miss this stuff. To all my brothers, keep up the good work. Been there done that.
Crew chief 22 years...I maintained the 15 in Spain....she was brand new and we loved them...McDonald Douglas made great strides in engineering..she still has not been shot down in aerial combat to this day...
This is some good footage you have here of F-15's taking off. I used to work on those engines and thought I wouldn't miss the sound of them! Thank you for sharing!
@@user-gu1hl2kx2k I go to air shows and a real treat is to see an F15 Eagle demonstration. Another fighter, F14, was awesome but that was back in about 2003 in Little Rock Arkansas. Only one time.
I live near (what used to be) Soesterberg Air Base and had a few times the pleasure to see the Wolfhound Eagles of 32nd TFS do full afterburner take offs at night. That’s a sight and sound i’ll never forget.
Fantastic coverage! I love the way the jet is followed all the way down the runway through its full take off! I was stationed at RAF Lakenheath from 1979 to 1982, with the F-111's! I was in the Bomb Dump, which I believe is to the right of where the camera person is at! I loved it there and I'm planning on going back on a vacation in the near future! Thank you!
I was in Saudi Arabia in 86 when the f111s bombed Khaddafi. I think it was your 111s that did the deed. The U.S. Embassy notified us that if the Saudis got crazy over this, we were getting evacuate us. The Saudis I knew thought it was the right thing to do.
Used to work Line-D at Langley AFB, VA. Out on the F/L everyday, delivering 7s/9s/120s. Never got tired of seeing/hearing the roar of these beautiful planes...
The video doesn't do justice compared to seeing it live. You can actually see the shock waves in the thrust fire as the Eagle passes. And the feel of the ground shaking as 58,000 lbs of pure raw power shoots past you is awesome.
This is absolutely awesome 😎 I’ve been to lakenheath about 4 months ago, and it really was just loud and awesome, like you I would go back in the evening as it probably would be even cooler, (especially with them afterburners) awesome vid and brilliant sound 👍🏻!
Holy shit those freaking Eagles hot me hard just watching them light up the night. The point of the spear you best not be what these Eagles are coming for.
I used to love when we conducted night ops while I was at ramstein ab, germany! !!! We had F4-E's, I was ground refueling unit (POL) Loved watch those afterburners fade into the twilight. Sweet memories, miss those days. 31st & 86TH TACTICAL FIGHTER WINGS "73-78" TIME SERVED! !! #AIRWARRIORS OoaH !!!!!
I used to go in early in the morning and be there at 3:30am to deliver 3 or 4 new F-15’s they were going east across the Atlantic Ocean and leaving early gave them more daylight and it was worth going in early just to see those afterburners light up the sky in the dark.
Lovely. This is an aircraft which may outlive us. Just as the tall ships built by the Brits hundreds of years ago. The world deserves human dignity and freedom. That is what they represent. Have to say , I couldn't imagine the bravery of the sailors on those tall ships. Yet somehow centuries later we find ourselves resisting tyranny . 🇺🇸🇬🇧
Like I read one time the f15 might not look like a real exotic aircraft or mind blowing design, But when they designed this airplane they just got everything right! So true and simple statement 🇺🇸🤝🇬🇧 having the rest of the world like😟
Two ship F-4E’s and F-111F’s were much louder but I do agree, I have both tinnitus and 80% hearing loss from just 10 years in the USAF. I’m sure it had nothing to do with all of the AC/DC concerts I attended. 🤣🤣🤣
Could have used some of that AB heat while turning wrenches on H-1 heaters during the winter of 89. At least I made it so the security forces and crew chiefs didn't freeze their balls off. I know this video is all about Lakenheath but Sembach AB was a cold Some Bit ch. Boots frozen to the floor cold.
This is a clear example of a scl that only insults another enemy pilot. Don't worry children. If lethality is the commanders guidance. This video will look a lot different.

IMHO the F15 is the peak evolution of military jet evolution...versatile, capable, packing a huge punch.
Just perfect!

Hey man! Were you an aerospace propulsion technician? I’m currently in tech school learning about the F100 engines
Hard to believe these planes have been flying for 47 years. They just keep getting better!
nope. these are f-15Es. the last one was build around early 2000s. the oldest ones are from the late 80s. the a models are all retired

Wow, that was cool. I am so jealous of the person who got to take this video.

That is so unreal it's so good I would so love to see the F-15 doing night flying ✈ with my partner 😀👍
That "whoop" on the first jet tho…💪🏾🇺🇸
I was flight line fire rescue at Randolph AFB TX for the T37 & T38 trainers in 73 & 74. I still smell the JP4.

f-15 is the most beautiful plane in the world
Great footage and good camera work. Enjoyed to watch the video! Keep on the good work!
Night ops were always the best to watch on a fighter base.
As a wingman, I enjoy reading by the light of the afterburner of the squadron leader ahead of me.
Oh you love his tailpipe,lol!
Well it's safe to say you love candle light dinners with your wingman.

@@SparksofOhio Yes, my Black and Blue concerts were not too loud either LOL
Ahhh the good ole days huh?
Beautiful birds.
Man, these things must have at least 300 horsepower!!!
it takes so long to taxi around Lakenheath it's nighttime before you reach the runway.
Uk airspace will never be penetrated successfully with typhoons eagles and raptors on station 🇬🇧🇺🇸🇬🇧🇺🇸!!
Doubting the Eurofighters, but definetly not thanks to us, Air Power! Space Power! USAF!!
There are no Rapters stationed at Lakenheath, the RAF has F35 Lightnings.
USA doesn't sell the F-22 Raptors to other countries, at least not the most advanced variant.

Just AWESOME,
This aircraft is different from a Mig-25 in so many ways.
after burner flame length is almost more than aircraft length
Afterburner..!!?
❤
I’d just like to know how this was published in April 2017 when this video wasn’t recorded until November 2017.
In England month and year are reversed. This was taken 1 day before publication
3:57 Awesome afterburners
Au top le f15 👍
From zero - HOLY SHIT !!!
why is this normal?
does the runway get burnt?
No, the flame is not there long enough.
