When you look at this F-15 and view them beating up the Mach Loop, a person tends to forget that this beast is almost 64 feet long. It's brutally graceful.

Slightly smaller, reportedly slightly slower, but 3/5ths of the mass of the MiG-25 it was designed to take on.
As for turns, the F-15 is high gee every day, the MiG is a dragster, goes hard, doesn't corner.

WOW!!! I've been a member of the F-15 maintenance community for the past 30+ years, on the USAF F-15A through F-15E, and now the F-15SG. I've seen countless sorties from air show demos to combat but I've never seen an F-15 do some of the maneuvers that I just witnessed. My jaw actually dropped! Very, very impressive. I am sure that I don't know what I am talking about, but I thought it was worthless. With such close in shooting, there isn't any relationship to surrounding area, thus no real appreciation for what is actually happening. If one turns the volume off one could think that it was standing still for the most part. I'd get most everything out of it in about 10 seconds of video.

That IS without a doubt the BEST F-15 demo flight I have ever seen... I have never seen such maneuvers by this airplane in 30-plus years of being around the USAF... Its the accelerations and decelerations.. coming out of a loop straight into minimum control airspeed, (aka High Alpha pass), then coming out of the loop and accelerating, to a high-speed pass following up with a high G pull-up... then a reversal.. just amazing! this was incredible!!!!

Pretty amazing what FBW has done to our old "Albino".

    • @ILSRWY4
      @ILSRWY4 4 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

@@jimgarwood9831 FBW is not new to the F-15. ALL F-15s have a Fly By Wire system that serves two purposes. 1) it is part of the stability augmentation system and is overlaid on top of the hydro/mechanical Flight Control System (FCS). 2) serves as a backup. If the Hydro/Mechanical system fails, the aircraft can be flown on the FBW only. IF the FBW fails the aircraft can fly on only the Mechanical system. In other words, the F-15A through F-15E had BOTH systems. What makes the Advanced Eagle (EX) special, is the hydromechanical flight control system (FCS) hardware has been removed making it the first F-15 to be truly FBW-controlled ONLY. Removing the mechanical system did two things. 1) reduced weight allowing for more maneuverability, or more payload in the form of extra wing hardpoints. 2) reduces maintenance hours and money. Therefore the EX is cheaper to operate and more affordable to fix. Most of the maneuvers you see here is not because of the FBW itself but by the reduced weight and the more powerful thrust produced by the new GE engines. Look up a TH-cam video called "F-15 skin damage at MAKS 2011 air show sunny" Which was taken in Russia back in 2011, and it is a standard F-15E out of Lakenheath. It does nearly all the same maneuvers (only not as violent) as you see here with the EX. Less weight means pulling harder Gs through more violent maneuvers.

I was once contracting at an RAF base where some F15's from Lakenheath had flown in for a visit. One of the planes wouldn't re-start so there was a long delay, all the other F15's eventually took off & left this solitary plane behind. There was lots of activity, a flurry of white Ford Fiesta vans arrived (USAF technicians...?) & they worked on it in an absolute deluge of rain....I'd never heard a plane cough before, but these technicians had this plane loudly coughing as the engines were trying to run smoothly...!?!
So they got it running, & in the continuing deluge of rain the plane came 'round on the taxiway, with the pilot giving me a wave & thumbs up to the rained-off contractor I was (note: miserable RAF pilots NEVER waved at the base civilian contractors, visiting USAF pilots ALWAYS did...) & he went to the very, very far end of the runway. The runway was full of water from the rain, the pilot went the entire length of the runway on full afterburner turning all the water to steam & fog (took 20 minutes to clear from the airfield...!) & at the very end pulled hard up into the sky near vertical, & just as he disappeared into the rain clouds, started to slowly twist/rotate the plane..it was a spectacular maneouvre.
The F15 is still one of the most exciting aircraft to see & hear, thanks for the video.

That's called aerodynamic braking. In the f15 you don't wanna use your wheel brakes above 90 knots or else you'll cook them. The wheelie just helps slow him down so he can actually brake. Still cool though

@@nick21614 Yeah, pretty much on purpose, to show off what it can do with the upgrades. And maneuvers from other aircraft as well. Source: I know the pilot. Interesting factoid, since the avionics and engines are new and the upgraded 15's can now do all this high-alpha stuff, when they developed this routine, they spent a lot of time proofing it in sims. Like, "in this particular maneuver, if I lose an engine, or a horizontal stabilizer, what happens? Can I figure out a way to recover safely? Can I replicate that recovery consistently?" Since I work in software testing/QA, I thought that was neat.

Around since 1972, 1976 in service but scarcely used in real combat exception IAF.
F-15 will still be around for another 5 years as experiencing reduced procurement of the " wonder jets" F-35 & F-22 ... 🤔

Not much in common with the F-15s I worked on, other than the name.

@@phmwu7368The F-15Es will be around another 25 years. The F-15EXs are just getting here.

I worked on the previous versions up to the E and by far was the best demonstration I've ever seen. There's one skilled pilot and one one unbelievable machine. Let's hope the new generation of those lives up to the Legacy of his predecessors. Zero lost in battle.

Brilliant camera work, somehow you didn't lose him for a second and you made it really exciting.
The pilot shows how skilled our Airforce has to be to deal with a planes modern demands.

These pilots are so friggin professional, totally fearless and indeed Top Gun. Seeing one of these badass jets going vertical to slow down rapidly nose up is beyond words. One word: REMARKABLE! I love our military and am so very proud of every man and women putting their country first. You have my most grateful thank you for your service! You ARE the best.👍👍🙏🙏🙏❤️💪🫵🏻

I was a Boomer on the KC-135 in the late 70's. We had two squadrons of F4s at SJAFB with us. When we started seeing F15s showing up, there was no comparison in inflight refueling them versus the F4 and I think it's the one of the sexiest jets around and I'm glad to see it's progression and not kicked to the curb.

🛩 *What remarkable piloting skill and resilience!* My jaw is on the floor and I'm speechless for the entire demo. Even the stud-like landing/taxi stunt. WOW! _Huge thanks to the skilled pilot for the adrenaline rush, and to the team producing this video; keep up the great work and thanks._ ⭐

Insane the first f-15 is from 1972 , that's some lasting power right there.
