I mean I was an avid AMC watcher since the mid 90s but OLTL really was on another level!! Another note: Poor Erika, I know her throat was hurting real bad after rehearsing those scenes!
Viki was already splintering before this altercation...she just kept it well-hidden. Perceptive Dorian was the first to see Viki's instability getting worse and her alters coming out more.
Years later after Dorian left Llanview and was living safely in DC, she reflected on this incident and this time and felt that it was sad that Viki had lived in denial for so long and had made that unnecessary shrine worshipping Victor.
I JUST WATCHED THIS AGAIN---it is really an amazing scene---I remember calling my mother in the room (she barely watched the show) and I said "CECK THIS OUT---DORIAN IS OPENING VICTOR'S SARCOPHAGOUS SO SHE CAN DESTROY HIS REMAINS WITH LYE!"....I honestly had NEVER SEEN ANYTHING like that on television----this was really pushing the envelope----And I hate to admit it, but I actually wanted Dorian to get away with it---To go to such lengths---she deserved a triumph! And when she says to Vikki "I am so sick of you" I was like, Yes, I am sick. of her too! Always showing up at the wrong moment!

Wow, what a liar Dorian is! I think I remember this scene. And Dorian was greatly gaslighting Viki. I hate liars, especially ones who really tell up a story like Dorian is doing, here. I'm glad Viki saw through her.
Actually, in a scene years later, Dorian DID admit she did kill Victor and she even questioned the fact that the very much alive Victor was even Victor at all.
The crazy thing is that in the original 1976 storyline, there was no question that Dorian killed Victor. However, she did it by not giving him his medication when he was having another stroke. Erika Slezak mentioned in an interview that Dorian was so cold she looked at her watch while he was dying. Following that storyline, an autopsy wouldn't have shown anything. When they came back later and said he had pillow feathers in his throat, I though it was hilarious. I guess that's the Tori storyline they came up with later. But yes...Dorian killed him. But no one could have proved it.
@@fwdthinker: If by chance Dorian had truly killed Victor, it was either in self-defense or to protect other young girls and Viki herself from further abuse by Victor. Victor was not the prize husband or father that Viki had for too long fancied him as. This may have been why Dorian glanced at her watch while Victor died. Also, it's possible that Dorian might not have even fully realized that Victor had been dying. Or also...Dorian could have by then accepted that Victor was terminal, had done her grieving and was ready to accept his death. I've known many, many people in real life who have a terminally ill family member or friend who is beloved. The person often grieves while their loved one is ill, suffering, but when their loved one dies, the survivor is actually relieved and yes, may look at their watch, which may seem "cold" to those who don't understand the situation. Viki made many ignorant rash assumptions and poorly thought-out hasty judgements about others, especially her stepmother, without fully understanding their story and without seeing the big picture. No, Dorian was no hard-core killer and she knew she really didn't need Victor's money. Despite being let go from Llanview hospital, Dorian still had her medical degree, was smart and well-educated and would land another great-paying job quickly. This is largely why Viki and the old-money crowd felt so threatened by Dorian...she was not dependent either emotionally or financially on a man. If Dorian had not been well-educated, had not been highly intelligent and if she didn't have the skills to make millions on her own, Viki and her little clique would not have felt so threatened by her and would not given her so much grief.
I think Viki often stirred some really mixed up, confused, stormy, frightening and sometimes violent feelings inside of Dorian, feelings that Dorian often didn't know how to handle that often left Dorian frustrated and overwhelmed throughout the show's run. I think Dorian desperately needed counseling after years of dealing with Viki. I have my own storyline where per urging from a granddaughter, Dorian finally receives counseling once she's living safely in DC.
I think Dorian probably needed counseling the most after Jean Randolph had locked her in Victor's secret room for weeks. Which was also after Tommy pushed her down the stairs at her house.

Because Dorian was not a gold-digger...she had skills and an education and was making excellent money on her own already before she ever met Victor. That's why Viki's accusations of Dorian marrying Victor "for his money" are so ludicrous and is indicative of Viki's crass and even willful ignorance.
This scene is brilliant! I love it. Superb. It's also kind of funny, since Viki herself has gone on to demolish his grave a few times. What was Todd smashing up?
Viki's _HYP-OCRISY_ at its best. 🤣🤣🤣 Here Viki screams at and beats up Dorian for disturbing Victor's grave, yet later smashes Victor's grave herself. What a wild, silly goose chase Viki went on for years trying to pin Victor's murder on Dorian when in reality Viki herself was the murderer...Viki, you fool. 🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
"Pin on" is not the right term because it implies that she knew Dorian was innocent but tried to blame her anyway. Viki was trying to prove Dorian murdered her father because she actually believed she did. And when she finally discovered she herself was the one that was responsible, she immediately admitted it to the police.
I Loveeee these Two! they are both amazing actresses! i wonder if they will ever revist Victor's death? remember the day of Asa's funeral what Dorian said! i still think that victor that popped up in 200? wasn't him
It's lucky for Dorian that none of Viki's other personalities emerged during the argument. Tommy probably would've bashed Dorian's head in with the crowbar and used the lye to destroy her body.
I think it was Viki's alters that subtly emerged...Dorian saw it and was _terrified._ Dorian was sharp and saw through people. Viki hated Dorian because Dorian saw straight through her.

I know a lot of people think Erika Slezak is such an awesome actor, but I think Robin Strasser is 10 times better. Erika often goes way over the top in her performances.
Erika was trained in the theatre, but she DEFINITELY makes her "over the top" performances QUITE believable. But Robin is also an extremely powerful performer. I wouldn't say one is better than the other.
Hey, VickRobCal, I have been meaning to ask you, do you prefer this theme over the 80s theme with Peabo Bryson? Because I noticed with clips in the 90s, you let the theme play out with this particular theme. Clips in the 80s, normally are not played in their entirety. Just curious.
It reads as... _Victor Daley Lord_ _Born June 17, 1916_ _Died June 16, 1976_ Victor died the day before his sixtieth birthday, so he actually was not that old. And at the time, Dorian was in her early thirties with a full medical degree, so she really wasn't that young even back then.
Glad that Dorian fought back despite her terror of Viki. Viki was a bully and a self-righteous hypocrite. Too bad Dorian couldn't kick Viki's a$$ for real.

I can live with Victor s rewrite as a child molester for many reasons Malone was a brilliant writer and this story was phenomenal and the ur were hints Victor was. a monster sleeping with her teenage best friend and having Tina, the secret room viki s did which comes from severe childhood trauma as being raped as a kid and victims controlling relationship over viki these signs were their since the 80s. Malone def liked sexual abuse/rape stories . Marty's rape and viki s childhood molestation. it did make riveting TV
No, Dorian was _NOT_ Victor's daughter at all. Dorian was the granddaughter of Eastern European immigrants and was the daughter of Lou Cramer and Sonya Roskova. Obviously Larry allowed this as Dorian was her aunt but she & Larry helped turned her over & she was explaining everything they were gonna be doing. It's really cool to see Dorian in doctor mode.
Because Dorian was not a gold-digger...she had skills and an education and was making excellent money on her own already before she ever met Victor.
That's why Viki's accusations of Dorian marrying Victor "for his money" are so ludicrous and is indicative of Viki's crass and even willful ignorance.
@@Coryraisa TEAM DORIAN ALL THE WAY!
Tommy was coming out here!
😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
Viki and Dorian were sure like bickering kids.
This scene is brilliant! I love it. Superb. It's also kind of funny, since Viki herself has gone on to demolish his grave a few times.
What was Todd smashing up?
Viki's _HYP-OCRISY_ at its best. 🤣🤣🤣
Here Viki screams at and beats up Dorian for disturbing Victor's grave, yet later smashes Victor's grave herself.
And when she finally discovered she herself was the one that was responsible, she immediately admitted it to the police.
that was Tommy personality coming out of her
Tory
@@elijahjones981 Tommy. Tory would have helped her pour the acid on Victor's remains.
I have so been wanting to see this scene for a long time since it first aired in 94!
FYI..Victor is not in there!
I Loveeee these Two! they are both amazing actresses! i wonder if they will ever revist Victor's death? remember the day of Asa's funeral what Dorian said! i still think that victor that popped up in 200? wasn't him
Are there any scenes for how and why Nora represented Dorian?
It's lucky for Dorian that none of Viki's other personalities emerged during the argument. Tommy probably would've bashed Dorian's head in with the crowbar and used the lye to destroy her body.
I think it was Viki's alters that subtly emerged...Dorian saw it and was _terrified._
Dorian was sharp and saw through people.
Viki hated Dorian because Dorian saw straight through her.
2:25-3:30 Jean Randolph; 5:55 Tommy/Tori
"Crossed the line this time dorian"
😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅😅
Viki _always_ said that trite cliché in her fights with Dorian.
Viki and her silly dramatics, especially with the head-wagging are hilarious.
@@CoryraisaThis is true ..😂😂
I know a lot of people think Erika Slezak is such an awesome actor, but I think Robin Strasser is 10 times better. Erika often goes way over the top in her performances.
I so agree Erika is way over the top. Dorian slapped the hell of Viki.
Erika was trained in the theatre, but she DEFINITELY makes her "over the top" performances QUITE believable. But Robin is also an extremely powerful performer. I wouldn't say one is better than the other.
Erika is definitely a better actor.
Robin Strasser is indeed a far superior actress. Erika is way over the top and overrated.
I preferred the other theme from the 80's
What does his headstone read as
It reads as...
_Victor Daley Lord_
_Born June 17, 1916_
_Died June 16, 1976_
Victor died the day before his sixtieth birthday, so he actually was not that old.
And at the time, Dorian was in her early thirties with a full medical degree, so she really wasn't that young even back then.
How did dorian get the door open.I thought viki locked it shut! Viki should have given dorian the beat down of her Life.Lol..
MrCraigblaze she has a key too
Glad that Dorian fought back despite her terror of Viki.
Viki was a bully and a self-righteous hypocrite.
Too bad Dorian couldn't kick Viki's a$$ for real.
wanted to add Dorian and viki are the best couple of oltl always riveted by the acting clinics these two amazing actresses put on . I like to erase Victor coming back in 03 it was so ridiculous and lasted 2 min anyway bc i love the debate and the mystery if Dorian really killed Victor or not .
Yes Carl, isn't this scene great? ! LOOK AT 7:30 ITS LIKE VIKI WAS GOING TO TRY AND RIP DORIAN'S FACE OFF LOL...I mean wow. SHE IS REALLY MAD.
Poor Dorian was terrified of Viki.
lol..... trust me Al...... u r not the only
Vicki was a vixen back then...
Dorian told it as it was and who stood up to vixen Viki's bullying and _HYP-OCRACY._
Is this the only time ever that Viki was ever slapped?
greenlee7smythe I think so.
Christopher Shannon she slapped echo in 2011
Viki has slapped Echo, Dorian and Tina. As far as I know Dorian is the only one to slap Viki.
Viki slapped David too.
@@TJMalana I don’t mean when viki slapped someone I mean when someone slapped Viki.
Yes. She's scary! It seems more like Tommy.
a sarcofcus. its victor lord. not king tut.
🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣🤣
Viki sure behaves as if her rich dad was King Tut.
I've revisited this clip for years, and this has gone down as one of my favorite comments of all time. 🤣
is that a guy crying in the opening?
HorrorFestUser that was a woman crying
Dorian sure ended up crying in Nora's arms after being beaten and threatened by Viki.
damn
@imachildofthe80s8089 I haven't heard anything about Dorian being Victor's daughter! ROFL! Yuck no thanks. :)
No, Dorian was _NOT_ Victor's daughter at all.
Dorian was the granddaughter of Eastern European immigrants and was the daughter of Lou Cramer and Sonya Roskova.
Dorian looked _NOTHING_ like any of the Lords or any of the Buchanans.
Her eyes were too brown to be related to Victor...no one else in the Lord family had even remotely brown eyes.
