    Did the prop make any difference! I have the same motor and I get 23 mph on it I’m trying to get a little more and was wondering if I should order this prop? And can you drop a link for the prop

    If your motor is at the right height the hydrofoil wont reduce speed because it should be fully out of the water when you are on plane

    What is your max speed you are getting with this setup. On my 12hp I can get up to 13mPH with me and my wife. I just ordered a 18HP hoping to reach 17-18 MPh and i was thinking about using both my 12 and 18 motors at the same time!! I seen videos of people doing that so i might try that too! Do you have long or short shaft? If you have long shaft, you might have to bring up the motor a bit and change the trim settings.

      I’ve played with the trim a lot! There’s for sure difference. And I’m only getting 8hp max! My setup is very heavy honestly I think it’s just too much boat for the motor! Going to look at some 50hp motors with controls and steering and see if I can make a series installing it!

      @@BigTonysRipzz Honestly i would not get a new motor for your boat, what you should do is invest in a new boat. Your boat is the issue after looking at it in the picture. Get a nice Saturn inflatable or a bris. I got the 14.1 ft Bris that is AWESOME and there is plenty of room for you and your family. The reason is because a new motor that will get your boat moving to about 20mph will cost a lot more than a used boat or new inflatable boat from Saturn or Bris. I have the Bris and it is AWESOME and very strong!!!

    The difference in those NGK plugs are the "P" electrode Protrudes out further than the non "P". ONLY run a "P" plug if it calls for it, you can hit the cylinder on the plug and cause damage.

      @@Ajaxaxxess so originally the plugs I was talking about being no name brand were the spare plugs that came with it! So I figured they would be the same that were in the motor itself. Should I swap the plugs back to the original ones? I appreciate the info! Learning every day thanks to you all

      @Ajaxaxxess 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@BigTonysRipzz Id figure out what they are and cross reference them to a NGK. Id be leary running "p" plugs however. Most would also use a marine grade plug however with a "10" or similar after.
      Do the original plugs have any markings bud?

      Not sure you know but the deeper plug means its a hotter heat range.

      @Ajaxaxxess 2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@gatorsaw3315 Deeper as in lower number, not depth of electrode. You dont want too long of a plug or it can hit the piston.. thats not good

      @@Ajaxaxxess Yeah,, But thats not what i was saying.. The lower number of plugs means its a hotter plug. The further the electrode enters the cylinder also means its a hotter running plug. If someone doesnt understand that a long plug can hit the piston they shouldnt be working on gas engines. And if you dont know that the longer the electrode means its a hotter running plug its time to go back and learn the basics..

    Bro there is a way of determining prop size by rpm. Seeing another vid of you on the water with it makes me conclude your prop is too big because you are stressin the motor at low rpm.. Not familiar with the over sea's outboard rpm range. But if you know that number that sir is your target rpm.. Adjust prop size and or pitch to get there. 30 years as a boat mechanic.

    • @BigTonysRipzz
      @BigTonysRipzz  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I’m only reaching about 4000rpm! I should be around 5500 correct? So if I get a bit smaller of a prop I should reach my rpm’s a bit better?

  • @laurentgagne892
    @laurentgagne892 หลายเดือนก่อน

    get a tachometer to push the rpm on the higher end of the rpm range ...youre probably pitched too high....id get a 9-10 pitch

  • @Jahee-Official
    @Jahee-Official 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

    I'd like to know what your stock prop was. Your new one has a 9.25' diameter, and 11 some-retard-metric pitch. But if your old prop had a larger diameter, the increased pitch sounds kinda pointless.
    I've got an ancient 2-smoke Johnson 9.9/15 hp. It too could fit a 9.25/11 prop. It would even go up to 12. So I wonder if the diameter was any different.
    You've also mentioned you've got an (chineesium wrap-around) RPM gauge on there. I'm really currious about your initial max RPM, and your new max RPM. Because that's some really important infoes too.
    As for sparkplugs go: at least make them have the same size. Seems like the spark plugs aren't the same length. You've used the engine, so no real damage did happen. But it would have been possible for your piston to hulk-smash your sparkplug, causing loads of damage.
    As for the differences between spark plugs: someone else already commented about something "p". I don't know a thing about that. But for MY outboard, there are 2 types of recommended spark plugs. One that's better for low engine RPM's, and one for high engine RPM's. It has something to do with how hot they are supposed to be able to run.
    NEVER use an adjustable wrench on a spark plug. You're likely to slip, and snap those buggers clean off. Get a cheap AF dedicated spark plug wrench thing. They are worth it.
    Also: congrats of randomly showing up @ my main YT homepage. Never watched yer content before.

      Thank you so much for all the info! Deff newer to all of this so I absolutely appreciate any and all info given. And I did change the plugs back to the original ones it came with! Also got a plug puller since this video. Going to figure out the prop situation I haven’t been on the water in a week or so!

      @@BigTonysRipzz More RPM's == more speed. Dropping 1500 by just a prop change, is WAY too much IMO.
      You should look up your engine specs. It should list when you're making peak power. And you should your engine rev up that far, maybe a bit past that. Otherwise, your leaving unused power on the table.
      I suggest finding a prop that will have your engine rev up slightly past peak power, to get the most performance (and speed) out of it. Once you're on plane, you should then be able to hit rev limiter maybe? (not an expert)

    lmao you bought an Amazon Motor and you think the hydrofoils are whats dragging you? dude buy a name brand engine. my 15hp Mariner did about 30+mph on the water on a 14foot boat with the stock prop. lol I have a 30hp on it now, scared to do over 55mph on it. tiller life lmao. Hydrofoils are great for anything 30hp and under. anything higher they are useless.

      That's all that counts Tony. Some people just don't understand all the people around don't have the money for name brand engines. Seriously though Tony being 100% honest with you. You do need a motor no less than a 30hp. That particular type and design on that boat is really going to handicap what it can actually be used for. Before you put alot more money into engines and controls and stuff you need to think about what you want it to do and them see if that particular boat is really worth putting all stuff you've mentioned into it. Remember motors,controls, anything you add to the boat plus passengers add weight and by the time you get to end with all you've added you're probably going to still be where you are now. Being really honest the best thing to do is save your money and get a boat closer to your expectations new or used and just use what you have now like it is. Take it from someone who has own a boat pretty much all his life trying to make something that is not what you want it to be is going to cost you that money you wish you had saved and went ahead and made the better investment. Boats my friend that you will constantly be throwing money at. The only thing your going to get back is fun and enjoyment with your family. That's a great thing. So make whatever you decide SAFE and RELIABLE. Make those your biggest concerns because your taking your families lives in your hands everytime you push away from the bank or dock.

      I have the Hangkai 18 and love it on my Gheenoe. I’m not cheap and bought a brand new 350hp Mercruiser for my Sea Ray, but this motor has been fantastic in the first 18 hours of use and pushes my Gheenoe to 28mph with just me and 24mph with the girlfriend. It burns 1.1 gallons an hour wide open and I’m getting 20+ mpg. Starts first pull and still looks brand new with lots of salt water use.
