Typically inflatable boats are hard to get up to substantial speed. On fuel consumption you can get a 2.5 gallon standard fuel can and premix fuel so you don't run out of fuel. Looks like beautiful area and possibly good fishing. 73 Earnest K5EWM.
@@ErickMartinSucre I hear you. Here in Southeast Texas, camping is fun too, with 1 major drawback. (.Mosquitoes), that will haul you off. LoL. Im planning on getting the 18 hp version with the short tail shaft as my boat has the short transom. Enjoy both the camping and your new Hankai outboard. 73 and GOD bless, Earnest K5EWM. Nice!!! It will not disappoint, in fact it may surprise you as it did to me. It costs more than half of my old 9.8hp Tohatsu, but it is lighter and has the same power.
11:00 ...get an 8 ft. long piece x 4 ft. wide orange or green plastic construction site fencing. I put it over top all my gear then attach it all around with carabiniers clipped to the boat's d-rings. Keeps your gear from bouncing out or getting blown away by the wind...
Feels about the same amount of power, but the outboard is lighter. The Tohatsu 9.8 4 stroke is about 90 pounds, while this is is 60, the same as my 6hp Tohatsu.
@ErickMartinSucre thanks for the info. Yea i also have tohatsu 9.8 but hangkai 12 weight really is attractive. Mine still functioning well so i'm not sure if i want to buy same power but weight of motor is really attractive
@tch595 hmm, of the weight isn't an issue I say stay with it. At the worse case scenario, you can sell the Tohatsu and buy the Hangkai since they are cheap in comparison.
Hey Eric, Have you had any air leaks in your boats or air-floors yet? I sealed my Mars 12.5' last year and am resealing the air-floor today. Since the floor is 10 psi & flat it's more difficult to seal than the boat. Just thought you might do a video about sealing inflatables when you get an air leak.
@@ErickMartinSucre My leaks have tended to be at the seams and where the tape overlaps. I'm hoping inflatable boat sealant will fill them because patches would be difficult to apply in those areas.
You definitely need a Hangmaha 18(15) with that camping gear😂 Without that load,Hangtsu 12(9.8) is the perfect fit. Have fun with it Comparing top speeds with your tohatsu 9.8 , I'm now pretty sure this one is a 9.8 as well. Still , expected to see it planing with camping gear
Is this easier to transport in a sedan than the zk430 or would that one work as well? Is this the boat you are using now? I know you said you preferred an sd series boat in older videos.@ErickMartinSucre
@ErickMartinSucre thank you so much! Been watching all of your videos. Live in Polk County, maybe I'll have the pleasure of running into you in the water one day!
Next time you should try the hangkai 18hp. I found the hangkai 12hp is just not enough for the ib in the sea to fight against the tide and wave. The hangkai 18hp no problem and plane anytime even with a loaded ib
Yes, but only the 2-stroke model. When searching for parts, make sure to search for Tohatsu 9.8hp 2-Stroke outboard, and the search results will show the correct parts.
Well for starters, I got it on special for 1k us dollars last October. In comparison, a 4 stroke Tohatsu 9.8hp will cost around 2300-2599 dollars. This one needs a bit more attention to the break-in, and mixing the gas with oil, but you get the same power on a lighter package. I'm gonna make a video this weekend for the things to look out for on these outboards.
On the Indian River? No sir, no gators in these parts. You do get to see the occasional dolphin and manatee. On rare occasions, you may see a young shark lingering about.
Your enthusiasm is so wonderful, always enjoy watching your videos
Thank you so much! I love making these vids
💯
Yes, very good. Will watch more while I am snowed in up here in the north.
lol! Hey, we got some frost in the morning now here in Florida.
The joy in your voice when you went fast almost made me tear up! Just ordered the 18hp 🎉
Oh man! You're gonna fly with that one.

Awesome video bro! Campsite looks perfect 👌 👍 motor is a runner! I know 25 mph in my 15' glass boat with a 40 hp 2 stroke is plenty fast! Lol
Oh yeah, your rig flies!!!
Wow 20mph shes a real water rocket! Great vid
20 is plenty indeed
Looks fun! Ive got my 18 coming next week!
Nice!! I hear that one is a clone of the Yamaha 15hp 2 stroke outboard.
😂that really looked like you had fun, bud!😂👍
I love Island camping 😊

Hey love the video! I this in the Sebastian area? or farther south?
Maybe 15 miles south of sebastian
Next time out Could you check low speed. This is for trolling. For us fishing fools. Thanks for playing with these engines. I love it.
Hmm, I would not recommend a 2-stroke outboard to be used for trolling. You can do it but it will be too noisy, likely scaring the fish away.
What were the speeds you were getting on your Tohatsu 9.8?
How does it compare to Tohatsu 9.8 four stroke ?
I got 21 once with it. This one is 30 pounds lighter
@boatsandoutboards9070 I bet I could get 21 in flat waters
I finally got my tohatsu 9.8 yesterday ...
Man, it is back breaking...I won't be able to handle it alone...😅
I will have to get a trailer...😂
By the way, what is your most favorite Saturn boat? Thanks!
My SK385XL. Easy to deploy, it can handle some wake, and it goes like a rat with its butt set on fire in the water, using just my 6hp outboard.
Looks great!! How does it compare to tohatsu 9.8? Is it faster and more powerful or does it feel same?

I had one recently on the floor. Small leak and easy to patch

paling seru kebut kebutan di laut menggunakan perahu karet dan mesin hangkai 12hp ..mantap brother 😇👍 salam IB INDONESIA 🇮🇩
Memang benar. Hello from Florida!
Is the smell/smoke from the 2 stroke noticeable or bearable? I use a 4 stroke 6hp and am fine of the nearly zero smell of it.
Mostly when I'm on idle or stopped.
what's the power here vs your previous 9.8?
Same power. The Hangkai 12 is literally an identical clone to the Tohatsu 9.8hp 2-stroke outboard model. Tohatsu model M9.8B
I can say that the 2-stroke it has a bit more torque, but over all same power.
Do we need a permission or license for a 12hp engine?
Not in Florida you don't. I heard that some states may require you to register both the boat and outboard, but not sure which ones.

i was on that island a couple weeks ago, hope you brought mosquito spray. brutal. there were like 10 snook on the northside in the am
That's why I camp during the colder months in FL. Too damn hot and buggy
wait. I did not know that we can camp on an island.🤩
Oh yes, and there a plenty here in Florida.
Hows the motor holding up? just order a 12hp also for my 12ft aluminum boat.
Dude! It's so awesome! Just be sure to break it in properly, grease up the joints and the propeller spline, and you'll be good.
@ErickMartinSucre probably break it on fishing just do some slow trolling till i hit most of the hours
@@joaquinsantillan6257 Sounds like a plan. You could leave it on idle while fishing, unless that spooks the fish.
Wow that thing rips! Is that a kaboat you're on?
That's my Saturn ZK380
Is this easier to transport in a sedan than the zk430 or would that one work as well? Is this the boat you are using now? I know you said you preferred an sd series boat in older videos.@ErickMartinSucre
It's about the same. I suggest you fold the airdeck floor separately. This will make it easier for you.
I usually fold the boats with the airdeck inside, but that's because I drive a suv.

@@ErickMartinSucre the hangkai 12hp and 18hp price difference only 150usd in my country😁
@chong7091 Yup! I like my 12, I got some planing tabs for my inflatable that help it catch plane quickly as well, and hydrofoil
Apparently they have a 30hp and a 40hp now
Put a Dol-fin or Whaletail on the motor plate it will come right up on plane
Yes, it has one, but all that gear held it back. I got into plane after I set up camp, and all the gear was out of the boat.
Do the tohotsu parts work on it?
Yes, but only the 2-stroke model. When searching for parts, make sure to search for Tohatsu 9.8hp 2-Stroke outboard, and the search results will show the correct parts.
The primary parts you'll need in the future are spark plugs, impeller, propeller, and zink anode.
@@ErickMartinSucre awesome thanks for a quick reply. You think tohotsu controls will work with it?
That information I do not have, sorry.
@ErickMartinSucre no problem I appreciate the answers you could provide.

I am not certain to be honest.

Some Marine shops repair inflatables from what I have heard.
