I love the way you present your work. No music, no talk, just great visuals. It's a shame the old bakelite handles were shot, but the new ones are a great compromise. I really liked the way you changed the feet and the nice strong bases you added to attach them. This was a wonderful tutorial for those who haven't tried furniture reclamation but want to. GREAT video.
    GREAT result.

Love that there is no music! Without your skill and patience this piece would have landed up in a landfill. Now it's ready to make more memories

Though some may feel sad when features are gone, what remains is the spirit of the wood. This was a chest of drawers. This is a chest of drawers. I’m doing work like this now, and you’ve inspired me with some great ideas.

Beautiful rescue of an old piece. Sometimes you can't restore a piece you have to rescue.

That turned out great! I love the combination of a black unit with either painted or stained drawer fronts general, but here it looks just amazing with that rustic wood grain! 😍

Sir...you took a very "ugly duckling" and made it into a piece of furniture that looks wonderful and is so useful again! I'm envious of all the keys you have and actually found one that worked!! Well done! I have refinished/refurbished many pieces of furniture starting in the late 1970's and would like to make one suggestion. When stripping a finish use more stripper and don't work it so much. Just make sure it covers the surface and wait until it bubbles up.

You're right age of hardware & dresser was off, but that beautiful bakelite hardware would have looked great on another piece.

Nice, you did a good job with this treasure but you might want to consider investing in a
paint gun cos, it just gives a slightly more high end finish. To me the piece feels solid or
weighted and, the dense colour of that black paint could've been watered down a tad as
it adds to that chunky feel. Also, the feet are blocky but if you chose steel or something
more contemporary to lighten it up that would've been cool otherwise, you did well cos
its a solid piece. You know Wood... comes from a living thing in nature, Trees and, as a
living medium it responds well to Love and Respect. Understand that, and it will help
    your work. Well done :)

When a piece of furniture has deteriorated to the point this one did, it's not really feasible to restore it to the beauty if once was. This dresser won't be dumped in a "land-fill" and is once again useful. I have refinished/refurbished furniture pieces since the late 1970's and some pieces can be brought back to their full glory, and some are too far compromised to do that. He did a great job with what he had to work with.

I like what you did. Sure, it’s not an historical r@restoration, but it doesn’t have to be. You took a worm eaten, non functional piece and turned it into something attractive and useful. Good work!

Should not have painted it black. Or used those drawer pulls. Or painted the inside of the drawers white.
