Oh I do love this. Going to order yarn right now, and hope for quick shipping, then single crochet like crazy. This video made my day. I can actually finish a few of these comfy pillow covers before Christmas. 😀. Love you and your videos!!
I love it when you are looking for something on TH-cam and you find exactly what you are looking for. I was looking for a tutorial on a pillow using Bernat velvet. I have only 3 balls (grey, light pink, bright pink) so I was limited with what I could make and my niece loves pink so I thought a pillow would be perfect. I love stripes so your pink pillow is EXACTLY what I was looking for PLUS you are an amazing TH-camr. I absolutely love your intro and you’ve got me hooked (haha) so I’ve subscribed! Loved the gorgeous co-host at the end!
The timing of this video is amazing. I just bought a yellow chair for my patio and have been looking for a pillow go with it. This is exactly what I need. Thank you for sharing this. I better get busy.
Hi Matthew - l have never been taught to crochet - knitting, sewing, embroidery, crafting - YES - So I am thrilled with your crochet pillow and other tutorials. I would request some colour changing lessons for granny squares, and how to crochet a beanie - style hat. Love your episodes...you always inspire me!
You make me smile and so happy just listening to you explain what you are doing. Love the mustard velvet pillow. Will definitely try this one. Please keep making videos, you are a bright spot in these hard times. Thank you.
Thank you for that comparison at the end! Definitely don’t want the pillow to be very visible under my stitches and I never would’ve thought of just going down a size
I like veg when you come on line and teach us new things. Thank you. Your a sweet heart. Miss your programs. Love how you changed your hair. Looks so nice.
I have bought some of this yarn for the first time this past week. Like you I have been eyeing it and finally decided to take the plunge. I'm excited and can't wait to try it!
I love the both but if I had a preference I like the tighter look but I also like the two colors on the bigger one too... Sometimes I weary like to see thru the stitch. I think you could do a tight stitch like the mustard and use polyfil fuzz. It seems the tighter would hide it for sure! The red and gray I think the pillow insert is best for the bigger size.
Love your energy!! Quick question- at first you said 52 stitches and then a bit later 45… which one is correct? No worries if you can’t remember lol (I know I’m coming at you a year later!) I can always try it out and see what works better, just thought I would check with you first! Thank you for such a fun and helpful video!
Thank you so much for this video tutorial. This will be my first crochet project and I'm excited to make a couple of "wintery' sofa throw pillows for the holidays. I love that you just did a simple sc and ended up with such amazing textured pillows. I look forward to viewing more of your videos! Happy holidays!
I have also just found you and you are awesome!! I just discovered this style of yarn when it came in a mystery mill end bag. So big pink pillow for me!
Ok loving your energy, seriously way to go! Now I may need to go to Joan’s myself to get more yarn. I’m just learning crocheting 🧶 but you make it sound so fun and easy. Honestly thank you for posting this video!
Is there a written tutorial on this? I really find this helpful but I prefer written patterns. I found this very simple and helpful. Would love to make this for my mum ❤❤❤
How am I just now seeing this?? I've had a few skeins of velvet yarn stashed away and I've been searching for the perfect pillow patterns , but this seems to be the project they've been destined for. Thank you for sharing this tutorial!!
I have seen that yarn at Joanns myself and was tempted to try it because it feels divine (I’m a knitter though, rather than a crocheter) but I noticed it doesn’t have any real stretch so I was afraid it would be difficult to knit with. I’m curious about your thoughts on it.
How do you not have holes in the stitches? I love your pillow. I’m edging has decreased and in creases. It’s hard to get it perfect like yours. Great video!
I love this yarn, but never thought to make pillow covers with it - OMG, I'm in love with the idea and I will make several now :) However, I prefer the tighter look where you used the 6 mm hook instead of the recommended 6.5 mm hook . . . BUT I need to make 19 x 19 inch pillow covers, how many chains would you recommend for that size and how much yarn? Thank you
Hi there! ❤️ I love all your videos. But I have a question I hope you can answer. The timing hook is messed up on my sewing machine. My aunt borrowed it and had it fixed for me. $70 later, I’m trying to sew some masks and BOOM the bobbin thread snapped! 🤦🏼♀️ I certainly don’t have $$ to take it back in to the sewing doc. Do you know how to fix this issue? Love You! 🥰❤️ 🌈🇺🇸
Can you do a video tutorial, or share the pattern for, the blanket yarn stuffed animals that you always have in your background? I keep looking online for a pattern but I can't find one that I like. But I like the look of yours. Thanks for your content, I found you on tiktoc and I just love everything you share!
So what do I do when I have to wash it. Do I just throw the whole pillow in the washer on delicate? Pillows can get disgusting over time, especially if it’s a pillow that’s used on a couch and guests come over or you have kids or pets.
I have one skein of this yarn that someone gave me. Will this be enough for this pillow? If so, what dimensions (starting chain) can I make using the whole skein. I don't want to buy more because I'm trying to use up my stash. Thanks for any input.
Ooooo That looks so cozy. Did you use one skein? About how much did you have leftover of the yarn? I'm asking because I only bought one in pink. Glad I found you and now I'm a subscriber. 🙂

Hi, I just came across this video and your question. Did you ever figure out how many skeins of yarn for the pillow? I have one skein but I'm not sure what size to make to use the whole skein. I don't want to buy anymore because I'm trying to use up my stash. Thanks for your input.
Hi Mr. D. I got some of this yarn last year to make a large pillow but I totally forgot about it. Thanks for this tutorial. I'm confused about the number of stitches in the gold pillow. You said two different measurements if I heard right. Once you said across 46 add 1 by 56 then for a 16 inch pillow 52 add 1 across by 52 down. Could you please tell me the measurements you used for the gold 16" pillow because it is gorgeous!
