This is such a wonderful pattern. Thank you for sharing it. I'm using regular Red Heart (medium 4) yarn, not chunky, and a much smaller hook (4.25) to create a pillow for my living room. I love that the pattern is tight so that the pillow form can't be seen through the pattern and it will keep it's shape well.
I love this pattern! Easy enough for a beginner like me, but looks more interesting than a basic stitch! I love your videos, always easy to follow! Thank you!
Warning to others than her extended single crochet is not the standard found online. Online it starts as a normal single crochet but then you pull through the first loop, yarn over, and then finish the crochet. Will be trying her method next to since i like the pattern more
Okay, this is a beautiful pillow cover, I love the stitch, and the color but this is NOT A BEGINNERS VIDEO or PATTERN, for this to be for a beginner you need to explain a little more the stitch you’re making and the transitions from row to row which you kept cutting off. Like, at the end of the row, do you chain ONE or TWO before turning. You start with chains 32 but you have 31 stitches per rows. That’s something a beginner might be wondering why. It’s a great video nonetheless, I just wouldn’t make a beginner watch it because, while I’ve moved from beginner to intermediate now, it would still cause a lot of questions. Thank you
Love this , but why is one side not straight? I did count my stiches. Unless its supposed to be ike that? Also after finishing the last row for the 1st panel do I chain one ?
BEAUTIFUL!!! The pattern and tutorial seem to be easy enough to follow and understand; thank you so much! I’ve been searching for the “right” pillow and this is it, at last! I will probably end up naming far too many in several colors, but I can’t help it, lol; I really like your “extended single” - I can’t wait to get my yarn and get started! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! ☺️🫶🏻🧶 hugs from freezing temps Ohio! 🥶 Lisa
@terrilowe8966 On the 2nd part of the stitch (where you go down,) make sure you are directly below the first part of the stitch. Open it up with your fingers each time until you get a feeling for where it should be. Also, if you're a beginner, proper tension is SO important. If it's too loose, your row will be wider; too tight, your row will be smaller. Try to crochet the same "looseness" on the yarn throughout the project. This is something that comes with practice, so you might want to make a potholder, or something small to learn how tight/loose is just right. Hope this helps! ❤
Can someone help me? I’ve taken this out SO MANY TIMES. My ends keep not being straight. One side is too long and then other one is too short. Her video shows her chaining 1 after each row, but her written tutorial says to chain 1 after the sc only. I can’t figure out which one I should be doing and what I am doing wrong here. Whenever I count 31, there’s usually another stitch that is in my row that I feel needs to be stitched. Idk. This is not a beginner video at all.
I know the pattern and the stitches are easy. I count my stitches but continuously have one side that is not straight. Any other suggestions on what I might be doing wrong ? I have restarted this project too many times to count. #helpafriendout
Go back and watch how she starts the begging of each row and at the end of each row. That’s what determines the shape. Also ALWAYS count your stitches. Use a stitch marker after you make the first stitch in every row. That way you won’t lose your place and know where to count stitches from.
@eskay6714 For those having problems: I am an experienced crocheter, and part of the problem is that, in my opinion, this is not a beginner's yarn! It's so thick and chunky that it doesn't slide easily, it's tough to get even tension on the yarn, and the ends look so uneven because of how chunky it is. I don't even like to use it that much, but I do because it makes such beautiful chunky blankets. Beginners should start with a 4 weight yarn (worsted,) 5.5 (I or 9), to 6.5 mm (K or 10.5) crochet hook. Start with a size 5.5 hook if you're not sure. A 4 weight yarn will be MUCH easier to learn with, and start with a simple pattern.(Like all single or double crochet - make potholders.) Watch a lot of videos, and keep pausing them until you're ready to move on. This will teach you how to hold your hook, and how to weave the yarn through your fingers for the proper tension on the yarn. I wish I could help every one of you in person! Don't get discouraged; crocheting is such a relaxing and wonderful hobby! ❤ Hope this helps! ❤💐
I think that a blanket would be very thick with this stitch, if that’s the look you’re going for, go for it! ☺️ A dishcloth would be amazing with this stitch!
I just tried this following the chain number for a 12 x 12. however my chain and first few rows came out as 16" in length, is that right or should my beginning chain start at the 12" (if I chain 21 then I get 12")
You should clarify both in the video and the written pattern when to chain one. It isn't clear. I've been trying this pattern for days and just by following your instructions, it tends to add stitches on one side.
You just single crochet normal to the second ch but you don’t go through all 2 loop but you go single crochet on the same single crochet that you did but the bottom of it and then you go through all 3 loop
When getting done with the first panel do you tie a knot or just leave the loop? I see that you left a loop on one of the panels which I’m assuming is the second one you made.
If you know how to single crochet, you will get it. Don’t give up! I used to stop and repeat videos over and over, but finally got it. Dani is actually an excellent designer and instructor.

Oh thank you! I wanted to use it with thinner yarn but I didn't know if it would look good. Definitely doing this project now!
I like this stitch. I think I will try a blanket with it.
Thanks for the awesome pattern. Turned out great!
I love this pattern! Easy enough for a beginner like me, but looks more interesting than a basic stitch! I love your videos, always easy to follow! Thank you!
Thank you! 😊
This,is an awesome pattern. I’ve never seen this stitch before. Thank you!

I love this pillow and the stitch is perfect 🤩 I’m definitely making lots of these
Thank you ❤
They are so nice 😍
Thank you for this wonderful inspiration. ❤
I'm going to try this!! Any hints on how to keep the edges nice and even? Thanks
Love this , but why is one side not straight? I did count my stiches. Unless its supposed to be ike that? Also after finishing the last row for the 1st panel do I chain one ?
You lost me at 2:56. I gave up and started making up my own patterns 😂😂😂😂
teehehehe i do the same thats funny asffff

Just beautiful❤
I followed this video exactly, counted every stitch, chain turn, but everytime it gets thinner at the top and I'm not sure what I'm doing wrong ☹️
Did you ever figure it out?
There is a tutorial in here on how to align your crochet and it’s really helpful. I just forgot the name of it. Search it up and it will work well.

P.S. Also see my comment above about the yarn. ❤😊

Fantastic stitch
Thanks a lot

Underrated
So cute! How can we wash this pillow safely?
Love this pattern and stitch! Making a blanket with it now. Wondering if it would work well for a dishcloth?
I think that a blanket would be very thick with this stitch, if that’s the look you’re going for, go for it! ☺️
A dishcloth would be amazing with this stitch!
Terrific pattern!❤
Thank you!!
Hello..so I'm wanting to make my pillow sizes..pillow #1 26x26 and pillow #2 20x20...how many chain per pillow will I need?
I just tried this following the chain number for a 12 x 12. however my chain and first few rows came out as 16" in length, is that right or should my beginning chain start at the 12" (if I chain 21 then I get 12")
Pattern:
Ch32
R1: second chain from hook, sc to end of row.
I edit it when I am up to that part
Is this suitable for practicing the basic stitches? I have never tried crocheting so is this maybe to high-achieving for the beginning? :D
@flaviafrohlich562
No; this is not the yarn or the pattern for a beginner. Please see my long comment. ❤
Love your videos!
😊
Aw, thank you so much! 🥰

Don’t call it a beginner video unless you explain each stitch in detail!
She did it I even got it and it so easy.
You just single crochet normal to the second ch but you don’t go through all 2 loop but you go single crochet on the same single crochet that you did but the bottom of it and then you go through all 3 loop
I agree
this is how to make a pillow not how to crochet.
I agree a lot of them i had no idea which one she was inserting
How many chains and rows she do. And what color yarn she use.
Can I do this project with 3 ply yarn?
How do you remove the pillow insert?
When getting done with the first panel do you tie a knot or just leave the loop? I see that you left a loop on one of the panels which I’m assuming is the second one you made.
Yes, first one you fasten off, second one you don’t so you can use the same yarn to join around
Can you surface crochet on this pattern?
Would any size 6 super bulky work? I am thinking lion brand thick and quick.
Yes! LB T&Q would work as well 👌🏼
thanks !
uhhhhhh... it's seems to be an amazing cushion, but can someone tell me the rounds? I can't play audio :(
Where can I buy those type of hooks?
It's linked in the description of this video 😊
Beginners: Please see my long comment below. This is not the yarn or the pattern for a beginner. ❤ I don't want you guys to get discouraged. 😊
As a beginner, this is not beginner friendly. Find another video.
Did you use 450 gram of yarn?
Yes they did, it says in the description
🙏🏼🙌🏼🙏🏼👍🏼🥰👍🏼🥰🙏🏼🙌🏼🙏🏼
Muss man dann immer: einfach, erweitert und immer so weiter?
I’m giving up shes going to fast and I’m not understanding the information she’s giving
If you know how to single crochet, you will get it. Don’t give up! I used to stop and repeat videos over and over, but finally got it. Dani is actually an excellent designer and instructor.
You should practice crocheting something easier like a dishcloth
Jesus loves u guys
Yes and he loves you too! Praise Jesus...
En castellano x favor gracias
I’ve never crocheted before and I am sorry to say but
You keep turning work away from the camera
Beautiful but can't see what you're doing and your going too fast
So not beginner
I’ve never crocheted before and I am sorry to say but
