    I’m really glad I watched. I wouldn’t have thought of doing three stitches in the corner or closing up the edges with a crochet stitch. I’m thinking about the colour of the pillow case now. If we use a dark colour wool then the white will show through and ruin the look so I’m considering sewing a black pillow case first and then stuffing it into the crocheted case.

    Your projects are always so beautiful and your instructions are easy to follow. I crocheted my first ever baby blanket from one of your videos. (He’s about to turn 4! 🥰) Is there a formula for number of starting chains and number of rows based on the pillow size? I’m know I can always just measure. Just wondering if anyone had used this pattern with different sized pillows.

Unless u wash the whole pillow n all. I was just wondering , I was thinking of putting Velcro at the end . What do u think?

    HI ! :)
    I started this pillow and when I looked at the supplies needed I wanted to be sure to have everything to start, bought the 10 mm hook, bought the 2 skeins of Vanna's oatmeal yarn, my 14x14 in pillow form and got started (YEAH!) ... so far so good, used 2 strands of yarn as mentioned and now, being done with my 1st side that looks the perfect size for my pillow form, I'm out of yarn !!! Did I do something wrong or did it took you 2 balls of yarn for each side too ? I did single crochet as shown in the video. Thanks in advance for answering. :)

    Sorry I'm new, so if I was using a yarn that has a rec. hook size of J, and used two skeins, would I have to use a bigger hook? And if so, what size would you recommend?

    • @Sewrella
      @Sewrella  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yes! I use a double strand of worsted weight yarn quite often and find that it works best if you take the size the package recommends and go up 5 or 6 sizes. So the vanna's choice yarn I use recommends a J hook as well, and I used a P hook. Hope this helps!

    I have been following this pattern but mine came out really tight and I am fighting to get the stitch in. I did single stitches and put my hook through the four loops... Is it supposed to be four because of the two strands or did I mess it up and over complicate it?

    • @Sewrella
      @Sewrella  7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Nope you should technically be working through four loops due to the double strand. When your work is coming out tight it's almost always because you have too much tension on the working yarn. Relax and take it one stitch at a time!

    • @xxomgxxHeather
      @xxomgxxHeather 7 ปีที่แล้ว

      Sewrella I barely put any at all. I ripped it all out, restarted with the two loops and it was a completely different story. Still used the two strands but it was looser and looked way better.

      Just looking through comments, I have been crocheting for many years (looking at this pattern to gauge wool needed for a project). You've probably worked this out but two things could have gone wrong, either (most likely) your starting chain was too tight (I always begin with a foundation starting row (videos on youtube) as I often make this mistake too) or you are getting extra stitches at the end/beginning of the row, always count your stitches until you are more confident.

When you buy a pillow case at the store, you take the case off and you don't throw the entire pillow in the wash. But with a crochet pillow case, you'd have to throw the entire pillow in!
