Music is by Naoki Kodaka - worked for Sunsoft in these ol' days, he's currently a professor of music at several universities. He even composed the music for Batman on the nes, which is equally incredible.
What is most admirable is that he is now a professor at the private university Daido University in Japan, and teaches students by example. Most composers set up companies and perform everywhere, but he is the only one who does this and trains the next generation.
This has to be one of my favorite soundtracks out there. It's incredible to see how adventurous they were on the NES. It's practically ahead of its time,
Easily my friend! This game caught so many things in my youth, the banging music, the misschieveness, the heroicness from Gizmo against the Gremlins.. Yeah.. we are never gonna get games like these any more..
Gizmo was the Baby Yoda/Rocket Racoon/Detective Pikachu for the kids growing up in the 80s and 90s, like myself. And he's still the best! This adorable l'il fella needs to come back to the pop culture 'cause he's missed.
They tried with a half-baked animated prequel series, but it was so far off the rails from what was established in both movies that it doesn't even feel like it's part of the same universe.
I recently picked a copy of the game up at a London retro market. It's a cracking little game and criminally overlooked. And of course the music is incredible, it *is* SunSoft.
Games made by Sunsoft of JAPAN always had good music, unlike their American division in the 16 bit days who hired crappy ass Non-Japanese developers to do licensed games.
yep totally agreed here, sunsoft music especially nes and game boy music they no what to do with the hardware. they are kings if it comes to that, and that's a fact. - bat man, this game, journey to sylias, blaster master, trip world (game boy) looney toons (game boy color also)
I loved this game's soundtrack as soon as I first played it back in the 90s. It has so many catchy themes. "Gremlins 2" is so underrated. Just like Gizmo himself, it deserves more love!
+Robert Anderson I think they are the best GAME COMPANY ever made, every game is made in love on the NES. They did the best technical achievements on the NES. Mr. Gimmick is the most note worthy but that has a physics engine, while the batman return of hte joker has the most parallax scrolling.
I agree. I just with that they developed a lot more licensed games themselves at their Japanese divisions like they did during the NES days. As for the 16 bit days, the only licensed title that the Japanese division of Sunsoft did was Pirates of Dark Water on the SNES. That was the better game.
Pretty sure The Office music is taken from the actual Gremlins 2 Movie, but all the other seems to be original IINM. The Title Screen and Ending themes seem to be patterned after Gizmo's song from the movies.
I think the Ventilation Shafts music was also in the movie. You can hear at least bits of it during the scene where the evil mogwais are pushing Gizmo into the air ducts.
I love the game, and the game's OST, but it's difficult to play especially after Stage 2. I will however say the game designers did a superb job designing obstacles and enemies.
Great games, great times. Journey to silius was one of my favourite game & the music is fantastic in that game, just like in this game Gremlin 2, created by sunsoft. =)
Oh man Castlevania, my favorite franchise of all time, and i remember beating that game extremely fast only to find the world record was only like 10 seconds faster.
Yes, I agree with you. Mainly because Sunsoft of Japan actually did the licensed games, such as this one, and the 2 Batman games on the NES. Sunsoft of Japan only did TWO licensed games one on the SNES and that was Pirates of Dark Water, and the second was Batman on the Sega Genesis. During the 16 bit days, Sunsoft USA was ruled by a bunch of fucking idiots who wanted cheap and crappy as fuck developers who are NON-JAPANESE to do games on the SNES and Genesis. Sunsoft of America was responsible for creating their god damn Non-Japanese made mascot, Aero the Acrobat. Sunsoft of America ruined the company and the Japanese division had to save themselves by closing the American division for good before the Japanese division went bankrupt.
Jeremy M It's a shame and a waste... Sunsoft of Japan was such a great little team, there was no need for an american division... I mean in the SNES and Genesis days Capcom and Konami still developed most of their games in-house, in Japan, and that was a guarantee of quality. In the 90s most Western console games sucked compared to japanese-developed titles.
Music is by Naoki Kodaka - worked for Sunsoft in these ol' days, he's currently a professor of music at several universities. He even composed the music for Batman on the nes, which is equally incredible.
The style is pretty recognizable - he composed Fester's Quest NES soundtrack too, which I loved.
This is one ofnthe best 8 bit soundtracks thats not Mega Man, Castlevania, Zelda, Contra. As is other Sunsoft games like Master Blaster.
Same samples as in Journey to silius . So I bet he composed the music for that game also.. Snaredrum and bass
@@Jonas-bn8gp same sound programming

The Office is such a fitting soundtrack that I think of it whenever I think of gremlins in general.
Sunsoft means excellent music. I love how they captured the mischievousness of the gremlins so well in sound.
the composer was Naoki Kodaka who was one of those awesome composers where if you listen to essentially any of it, it's all eminently fantastic
gravecactus Kodaka is a god.
Sunsoft, Compile, Konami, Capcom, Nintendo. They had the absolute best.
This has to be one of my favorite soundtracks out there. It's incredible to see how adventurous they were on the NES. It's practically ahead of its time,
+Calebandnickadventures or Hebreke. :)
This and MegaMan 2
Oh and TMNT
@@TrueNubinator And Sunsoft's Batman. That was probably the GOAT of all NES OSTs.
Scientists baffled by the company's ability to create dope-ass soundtrack every single time.
This game is so underrated. Its score could easily make Top10 best NES soundtracks. The Cutscene Display and Ending are my favourite pieces.
Easily my friend! This game caught so many things in my youth, the banging music, the misschieveness, the heroicness from Gizmo against the Gremlins.. Yeah.. we are never gonna get games like these any more..
This music is unbelievable! The ventilation song has ben stuck in my head for So Many years!
9:26 is absolutely my jam.
I love how Billy in the first cutscene is like 🌝👍🏻
The music really made the game for me. I remember recording the music onto audio cassette back in the day and jamming out to it. I love this OST!
Gizmo was the Baby Yoda/Rocket Racoon/Detective Pikachu for the kids growing up in the 80s and 90s, like myself. And he's still the best! This adorable l'il fella needs to come back to the pop culture 'cause he's missed.
He needs good writing/plot for a comeback. His nemesis set him apart from the other characters
Would Multiversus count?
He is extremely missed.
2 years later I am here to tell you that your wish is being granted. th-cam.com/video/rCJ8NjUnSk4/w-d-xo.html

+Lost in the Warp Pipe Music is amazing. After many times playing it I never could actually finish the TV-set level.
Never heard the gremlins sound so badass
Sunsoft games always had good music. That my friends, is a fact.

Sunsoft music is legendary. Even my school friends as a kid would hum Sunsoft tunes.
This music rocks! I remember the game really well but forgot how kickass the soundtrack is!
Yeah, the game was cute and the soundtrack was kickass!
the office is the best
I loved this game's soundtrack as soon as I first played it back in the 90s. It has so many catchy themes. "Gremlins 2" is so underrated. Just like Gizmo himself, it deserves more love!
I was walking through West quay and I saw the flasher gremlin in the window and I just happened to be wearing a green jumper and a beige coat!!
30 years later, Ghost is trying to capture this sound
When a 8-Bits OST owns current OST
Amazing sound quality!
Aged like fine wine.
That cutscene music is so good. :)
i was scared when i first time hear and see this game after pressing start
11:49: Boss Battle
13:36: Round Clear
13:29: Game Over
0:01: Title Theme
13:42: Ending
This is why I subscribed. All the music is crisp and clear, and you've done about every game, lol. THANK YOU.
This was a pretty good gremlins game actually overall. Good music, platforming, and plenty of challenge. Definitely not an easy game.
"Cutscene Display" was sampled by death's dynamic shroud on the track "INDIFFERENCE" from DERELICTメガタワー
Thk U
This music feels appropriate for the source material despite not being in the movies.
ONE WORD = AWESOME!
I LOVE SOUNDTRACK, AMAZING NES MUSIC
Masterpiece OST....
Gremlins 2 and 1 are my favorites movie and I'm so happy that exist a Really good Nes Game about the second
I recently discovered this channel (well a minute ago actually ), a big thank you!
Sunsoft made a handful of great games for the NES. This, Batman, Blaster Master, Fester's Quest.......great company.
+Robert Anderson I think they are the best GAME COMPANY ever made, every game is made in love on the NES. They did the best technical achievements on the NES. Mr. Gimmick is the most note worthy but that has a physics engine, while the batman return of hte joker has the most parallax scrolling.
+Quinn The Quartz Listen to this at 0.5 speed, it's insanely good!
I agree. I just with that they developed a lot more licensed games themselves at their Japanese divisions like they did during the NES days. As for the 16 bit days, the only licensed title that the Japanese division of Sunsoft did was Pirates of Dark Water on the SNES. That was the better game.
oh yeah batman and blaster master were great games. Its really a shame sunsoft never had this success on SNES. They had the talent.
Sunsoft were the gods of creating music on the NES
I love The Office!!

09:26 / Gremlin battle epic song
6:03 omg ❤
now we need fester's quest to complete the sunsoft goodness!
6:02 rocks! 😎
It's Luigi's mansión ??
this was a great game I bought it way back then wish I had it still someone lifted it from me
Good Japanese Game!
Game theory
LOVE the Office Song 😛
Still havent beat this game!!!
The last section of "Under Pressure" wow......
I love the game, and the game's OST, but it's difficult to play especially after Stage 2.
I will however say the game designers did a superb job designing obstacles and enemies.
Not to mention Gizmo sprite was spot on. Facing left shows the brown fur on face and face right shows the white fur on face.
Batman sounds
i would think this is from a indie game from the ost
i love this mogwais
Escuchándolo en 2021, un joya
El mejor juego de la nes y con mejor sountdrack, sin duda gremlins 2 the new batch es una joya de nes
I literally cried this brings up soooo many memoriessss aaaah man NES was the best
I know that feeling
Equalizer this game, duck hunt, bucky o' hare, tom&jerry, castlevania duuuude those were my games my childhood
Great games, great times. Journey to silius was one of my favourite game & the music is fantastic in that game, just like in this game Gremlin 2, created by sunsoft. =)
Equalizer the best times
Oh man Castlevania, my favorite franchise of all time, and i remember beating that game extremely fast only to find the world record was only like 10 seconds faster.
I want to use the music for future “MTN Gang” episodes.
Sunsoft did some good license games than what ljn did to butchered their license games. Wonder what would those games been like if Sunsoft made them?
Yes, I agree with you. Mainly because Sunsoft of Japan actually did the licensed games, such as this one, and the 2 Batman games on the NES. This part is epic 9:38 - 10:04
6:12 Luigi's Mansion?!!!
Luigi’s Mansion but Awesome
"Bernies Tune" by Gerry Mulligan
Get stoned
Is anyone else having flashbacks to Mario's trial?
i always removed the music from this game i needed to concentrate not to loose any progression XD
7:40
11:49
Game hard as shit (not like Fester's quest), but with awesome music.
11:49
This is the "when shit hits the fan and you are so screwed" tune :D
Serious Dream Theater vibes.
