That's what we will be answering in todays video as we run through the absolute best iPad apps for RAW editing to get stunning results.
In this list:
Pixelmator's Photomator
Capture One for Mobile
Adobe Lightroom
Affinity Photo 2
This is a good overview
Thanks!
Excellent summary and review. I use Affinity and Lr Mobile..these last 2 years and edit every day..😂 just testing Capture One... Finding the contrast and detail much better on C1... Amazed.😮.. but lack of masking..😢 thanks 🙏
Yes Capture One is great. Your eyes do not lie!😊
Thank you for your wonderful review. I also enjoyed viewing last year’s version. I also use an outstanding app on the iPad to process RAW images. It’s called RAW Power. It is phenomenal although I don’t recall it allowing local adjustments, so I understand why it isn’t on the list. Thanks again my friend!
Thanks for the feedback. I have tried RAW power, many years back, but haven't seen the latest iteration. What do you like about it?
The best part of the software is the raw processing engine and how it takes advantage of Apple’s RAW engine. The developer headed Apple’s Aperture team. I like how I can quickly use the program to cull my take. I don’t have to touch my photo library as it reads directly. RAW Power is also on my Mac, and since it’s fully integrated into iCloud I can continue my edits there as well. It’s fast to use and provides some of the best outputs I’ve seen for my RAW Captures. It’s not the only processor I use, but probably the most consistent and versatile.
I did used to be an Aperture user, and I did like that software, although unfortunately apple discontinued it just a week after I bought it! But I do hope to revisit RAW power since I'm always interested in great RAW processing. Only a few editors do this well. :)
Photomator is a steal, even more so once the file browser comes out of beta
Yes looking forward to how their going to implement that since their currently relying on apple photos.
It can’t do polarity masking and that’s critical..
Which one are you referring to?
Affinity photo s by far the most complete. It misses ai though
Yes, they've already announced their working on integrating AI.
@@takebetterphotos8132 oh really that's great
Yes but who know when thats coming. I'm guessing thats for affinity 3!
Affinity photo is my favorite, and the value for money is the least advantage.
Thanks for the feedback! Do you use ipad for editing yourself?
@@takebetterphotos8132 No, I am a witness. I would never edit my images on an iPad. My argument pro Affinity Photo 2 is this: If the user limits the editing in Develop persona to an overall minimum - the non-destructive editing in Photo persona will have all the good tools he can dream about. But if the case here is about quick and dirty editing, Affinity Photo 2 will probably look too 'professional', and I rest my case.
Happy New Year By the way! Agreed that Affinity is the most powerful. Curious to see if anyone really edits with layers in Affinity iPad.
@@takebetterphotos8132 All the best for you in 2024 too, looking forward to your future evaluations.
Photomator having problems downloading it doesn’t take raw or big files
Thans for the feedback. How big is the RAW file you are using?
