About to make these as my first project with my first sewing machine! Thank you for actually showing yourself using the machine! Others have just skipped that part

That's exactly what I came here to say. I've been looking at lots of videos recently, trying to learn to sew. Many of them make even the simplest things seem difficult. This video makes thinks look not so scary.

I have a hard time turning items inside out when through small openings ... so I had a random thought and it worked! I sewed the 2 squares on 2 sides only. Doesn't matter which 2, just that they are adjacent. I turned it inside out and on the 2 remaining sides, I attached the triangle piece and sewed it on. I then turned the triangle to the flip side and it was done with the raw edges under the triangle. Next time, I think I'll overlock the raw edges for even cleaner finish.

Made these for the ladies in my quilt class. They loved them. Made some with and some without interfacing. Most liked without. To each his own! Lol! I loved it both ways. Made extra for me.

Simply sharing that I made my first bookmark yesterday for myself to ensure that I knew what I was doing when gifting these. Absolutely love them. They went together well and quickly. They are wonderfully much sturdier than I anticipated -- my first time to use fusible bonding. Used my fabric left over from making a quilt top (literally has taken me at least 3 years to figure it out) honoring my deceased 19yo Ragdoll Skye Boy Kitty who I rescued when he was 6yo - my BFF 😢❤ Thank you, Stacey! Am excited to make and gift these.

I love the way you learn people to sew. Its lovely to listen to and you have a very relaxing voice 😁😁
It maket it easy for everyone to follow i think, not to fast, not to slow 😉
I do sew for many years now, never learn it officieel, but do it in my own house style 😂😂
And if it gose wrong i try again.... And again... Its like a puzzle. Love wen i can find the solution 😊
When i see your way of sewing, it is absolutely perfect for my...
Because i can learn so much more, especially from the "finishing" of the out line, ect.
You have absolutely beautiful and gifted hands. Thank you for the opportunity and sharing of your gift, passion and patience ( that we maby need a lot 😂😂😂) with all of us ❤️
    Tink 🤗

No need for best guess with your 1/4" foot. The 1/4" is where the first notch is. When it reaches the edge of your piece you are confident that is 1/4".

I did an 1/8 inch stitching line along the folded side of the triangle piece to give it a matching finished edge. Was wondering why you did your pressing on the side of the Cut & Press that is for rotary cutting? Doesn't the heat harm the surface?

    • @staceyleecreative
      @staceyleecreative  27 วันที่ผ่านมา

That's great! You should make it however you like. I prefer my way so the bookmark sits nicer on the book. I use a pressing mat, not a cutting mat to iron on 😊

The pdf pattern on Etsy is marked as sold out. I'd like to buy the digital download for the inserts please. I just finished batch making these for gifts and I love them! A great scrap buster, easy to make, cute to give.

Is it a problem, if the Interface is the same size as the fabric ?

I couldn't find the link that takes me to the print out for the insert. Is it still available? I saw a link for the pattern, but just wanted the insert as I have already cut out my pieces.
