Love this idea! Sorry I missed live chat. I got an offer to go out for tacos and margaritas that I couldn't refuse. 😅🌮🍹
I wondered where you were 🤣 in between trips around the country and tacos I don’t know if this is going to work for me 🙊
😂😂 Too funny! I'll "see" you next week. I'm so looking forward to your posts and videos of the quilt market next week! 😊❤ Have fun!
@@staceyleecreativecould you link the plied tool you used and the snaps you used as well please.
It spooks me when Stacey says, "it's a bit fiddly", because if she thinks it's fiddly that means I'm about to break out in hives. 😂
I do love this make and this would make such wonderful gifts for all ages. Once again, Stacey graces us with this make and tutorial. 😍
P.S. Could you cut the fabric a lil bit longer and then box the bottoms? I have several keepsake books so to speak and they're not that long, but they're quite thick?🤔
Yes just make sure you measure your book length & width. If you cut it longer I'd say at least an inch more all around. Alternatively you might find another video that uses boxed corner.
Hi, yes you could but I think you would need to make it wider too. 🤗
I SUBSCRIBED & LIKED your video! Making 1 or 2 tomorrow. They will be great for Bibles !! Great explanation. Thank you :0)
Thanks so much for subscribing ❤️
Love ... love ... love that I have 'discovered' your channel. I am fairly new at this craft stitching. I find that your tutorials are so awesome and thorough. May I ask a question about the Book Sleeve? If you have a thicker book ... such as a novel ... could you perhaps box the bottom some way to allow for the width of a novel type book? And if that would work, at what point in the construction would you add the boxing process? Thank you so very much for your consideration and the wonderful way you teach.
Sorry for the delayed reply. Yes you could. I would add to the width and length. You would box each of the corners (4) individually then sew the two pieces together 🤗
Hi lovely - this is my first video of yours and I adore the way you explain everything so amazingly. I can't wait to make this! Do you mind sharing what tripod you use to get the camera angle so perfect?
Hi, I use these two items amzn.to/3G7SYUx & amzn.to/47OB7xL
Do you ever sew on the edge of the fusible fleece to hold it more securely or is it ok to leave it just heat bonded? With batting I assume it needs to ge quilted.
So glad I found your site. Thank you for the great ideas and easy to follow instructions.
Sorry for the late reply. It doesn’t really matter, unless you think you may need to wash it, then it will shift and would have been a good idea to quilt it.
Hi Stacey! Loved this. I have two questions: 1) Can I make this exact one and quilt it as well? without bedding? 2)What kind of fabric do I buy best to make this?
Hi, yes you can quilt it, the batting is what makes it padded and the quilting helps to make the quilting stand out a little more. You might find it helpful to make the fabric slightly bigger and then trim down to the correct size before sewing together. Quilting cotton is best for this project, well all my projects really.
Fab tutorial! Do you have a link for the fusible fleece?
Thank you!
So sorry just getting to your question now. I used this one: amzn.to/3yGGwKQ
Hey I'm pretty new at sewing and was wondering what step should I put in a zipper if I prefer that instead of a snap? Thanks
Hi. If you’re new to sewing I would suggest you find a tutorial with a zipper, since it’s a completely different process 🤗
Can you please show how you would make this sleeve with a zipper?
That would be a completely new tutorial; perhaps search for a __ book sleeve with a zipper ❤
How important do you think padding on all 4 pieces is?
I am in the process of making this and have only put the fusible fleese on the 2 outer pieces, so when I sew the lining in it'll just have 1 layer of fleese.
Do you think that's enough, or do you recommend fusing fleese on the lining sides too?
Hi, it really depends how padded you want it. I recommended four pieces so it's well padded. Thanks so much for watching and taking the time to leave a comment ❤️
Hi, when doing this method on quilted fabric, do I still need to use fusible fleece on the lining?
Hi, no not if you used batting already. If you do both it will just been more padded and slightly smaller because of the extra padding 🤗
Do you know if the size you are demonstrating would fit a kindle paperwhite?
No sorry I don't, because I don't know how big they are. This book sleeve finished size is approximately 7½” x 10½”.
I don’t see the pattern on your Etsy shop - am I missing it? I want to make a couple of different sizes like you suggest but didn’t want to have to do the math myself - LOL. Can you link it here for me? Thanks - love your tutorials!
Sorry I didn’t end up doing a pattern yet because I didn’t get much interest
Hey 😊 new to sewing, could I use fat quarters for this?
Yes you could!
What type of fusible interfacing did you use
Hi, I like the pellon one: amzn.to/45OIzcl
Hi I’m back for help😅!
I’ve been making quite a few sleeves with your tutorial (It’s great btw)!
However, once I go to do that final stitch (the one where it’s more of decor stitch) I ruin my sleeves because I end up with slack at the end and I basically feel like the sleeve is now ruined. Any tips? Any help would be much appreciated. Thank you!
Ok, firstly you can unpick those stitches. Do you have a seam ripper? You need one of those. It sounds like your sewing machine isn't taking all the layers through the together evenly. So you could use a walking foot or even feed foot if you have one. Also you could try using a larger stich. Worse case just don't do that top stich, it is just decorative.
@@staceyleecreative okay thank you! I don’t know why I didn’t think of using my seam ripper lol. I just automatically say, “okay I did it wrong again.” Some sleeves don’t have the slack (I hope I’m making sense-new sewer here) some come out great! I like the top decor stitch too. I want to try and figure out what’s happening. 😅Thank you.
I went to the website to print but I’m confused. It says the finished size is 7½” x 10½”. The lower down it says finished size approx: 3″ x 4½” and then says to cut 6½” x 9½” for Outer Fabric. So essentially 3 different sizes. Can you confirm please? I’d really like to print these :) it also links to a completely different item on Etsy 🙈
Oh yeah it’s a mess. Just go by what it says on the video 🤗
