    Came across one at a charging station almost two months ago. The first and only one I've seen. And it looked great! It also looked quite compact, which I like, but the F150 Lightning at the stall next to it probably didn't help to get a real feel about size. Spoke with the owner a little bit and they'd had it a week and were happy so far. It was their first HPC session but good ol' EA offered de-rated chargers so didn't get any indication of charging speed. The same site also had Ionic 5&6 sext to each other, first time I got a good look at the 6 too, (And an ID4 with a Bolt and a Mach-e sitting waiting. Sums up CCS charging in California...)

    Just came across this. Actually love it, especially since I ordered the exact same configuration except with the Sea Salt interior for the Ocean One. Sadly, it just now became available for pick up, but at a bad time for me, so I may be looking to transfer my deposited reservation over to someone else. I had a cool low limited edition serial number as well ... oh well. Still, a beautiful EV !

    You missed it Kris, the back middle seat you can fold down for the rear passenger controls for heat and AC.

    What a beautiful car at 61'499 dollars for the top of the range Extreme it really is value for money.

    looks great, but no HUD, no matrix lamps, a lot of updates 'coming soon'. If I would need just range - for sure. but in Europe, EVs are not all about the range anymore.

    I love this car. My wife really wants one. But I don't want to be an early adopter. I hope you're driving on the latest software and it will be great to hear your driving impressions in the next video.

    "Not the biggest trunk". Tradeoffs had to be made. They prioritized the range (distance) that they can drive on a full battery, which means they had to prioritize installing a BIG battery. Thus they had to sacrifice space.

    Way overpriced for what you get, this car at $70k here in USA, with all fees and tax $80k. You gotta be crazy to spend for this or not care about money.

    • @BartSchrijvers
      @BartSchrijvers 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      My Audi costs double the price, has half the range, what are you on about?

    • @thadlm2698
      @thadlm2698 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      @@BartSchrijversWow, that’s saying a lot more about your choice of EVs than anything.

    • @BartSchrijvers
      @BartSchrijvers 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@thadlm2698 The E-Tron GT is one of the best cars I've ever owned and is available today, in terms of blending comfort with sportiness. The way it absorbs a bad road and bumps, yet, also is fun to drive is exceptional. It is a car that speaks more to an ICE car enthusiast than the typical EV buyer, who's more concerned about software and range than anything else. But the Ocean's range is actually quite good, you cannot fault the car for it, definitely not at that price point as most of its competitors will not come close. Unless you want yet another Tesla or some Chinese import, the pricing is not bad at all. So I disagree.

    • @tonyn3227
      @tonyn3227 7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @BartSchrijvers in my opinion audi is the worst, but if you do care about money, why not.

      If I hadn't seen it in person and test drove it, I'd be more inclined to agree with you. But after my test drive and getting to experience the feel of the interior materials, seeing the amazing paint and design and knowing the incredible range, I now understand the pricing. Even though this is a first year product, the quality is miles ahead of Tesla, which was surprising. My only issue was the door release latch inside the car, felt too much like plastic.
      This car should be priced above the highest spec Model Y.

  • @scoopman
    @scoopman 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

    Outside of the exterior design, this car's specs are generally meh and not differentiated from its better-funded, better-engineered competitors. Three areas that are definitely sub-par:
    (1) no basic adaptive cruise / lane centering, that's apparently "coming soon"
    (2) the infotainment is basic AOSP Android-based and completely sub-par at this price point ($70k+ for that model in the US!) a Chevy Bolt has better. What do you do in "hollywood" mode in park? There's no apps or features to even use that screen in landscape....
    (3) early Fiskers delivered to owners overseas in the US have dead 12v batteries. Have you opened the hood to jump-start the car? You need to remove a trim piece and unscrew 2 difficult bolts just to open the hood .... what designer thought this was a good idea to make a non-opening hood?
    This is an uncompetitive product, and I feel sorry for anyone who has put down a large non-refundable deposit on one of these without knowing what they're getting themselves into....

    • @parsifal102
      @parsifal102 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +5

      Much of what you write might be true, but the range on this car is excellent and far better than almost any other "better-funded, better-engineered" competitor - e.g. BMW, BYD, Audi, Volvo, etc.: WLTP range of up to 440 miles (707 kilometers), vs. the Mercedes-Benz EQS SUV (365 miles) and Tesla Model X (351 miles)

    • @BartSchrijvers
      @BartSchrijvers 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +4

      12V problems? You should google it, be amazed at how many manufacturers were already struggling with the same problem... every door, trunk, frunk, everything is electronically controlled nowadays. If the 12V goes out, my Audi will have to be towed to the dealer. Maybe I'm out of touch with this, but I don't really care about the software that much. I know Tesla has some nice features like Sentry mode, Pet mode,... But the basics, how a car feels, drives, looks, still are on the top of the list for me.

    • @martinmcnulty8155
      @martinmcnulty8155 7 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Since Fisker started delivering regular updates to its system the UI is a lot lot better. I haven't heard any Fisker owner complain about the system.
