    Thanks for these awesome videos Tim. I'm a Sydney local and I'm discovering so many great rides in the snowies and Barrington Tops areas by watching your channel. Keen to get the gravel bike out there on some Multi day trips. Thanks for the effort you go to put these vids together!

      Cheers mate. It seems there’s a few good rides out there and it’s so hard to know what works. I love playing with cameras so documenting the rides I do gives me something to film, but also helps others when planning. It’s win win 😂
      So thanks for your kind comment, it’s these that make me want to keep filming. Cheers!

    Only came across youre channel the other day, super vids. You do the same thing I do here in Scotland in fact Im going off this weekend to do some trails and bothy's. We have mountain shelters here open to anyone called bothy's. They seem much like the huts in youre vids but are usually stone buildings, previously occupied by shepherds and the like. I also use a 1990's MTB, they are super bikes, I bought another one a few months back, a nice Specialized rigid, what a bargain at 90 quid, been sitting in a garage for 25 years, super bike. All the best Im going to have to watch all the stuff you have on the Tube.

      Thanks mate. Scotland looks like an amazing place. It’s actually somewhere I’d love to ride one day. I watched this video below and I love how moody the scenery is. It can often be hot and dry here which can be pleasant but for the camera I’d love a bit of moodiness 😂
      Saying that it’s forecast for a lot of rain this weekend, maybe I should go out as well and embrace it. Genuinely got me thinking now!
      Garage find 90’s bike sounds great, I love them 😀
      Enjoy your ride this weekend 👍

      @advanturest  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Haha, we’re definitely not known for our ski fields but we definitely have a few of them. Last year in particular we got heaps of snow down in the high country but saying that there isn’t really any proper towns that get regular snow. Definitely no cities get snow.
      A lot of these huts you can cross country ski out to in winter. I’d love to try it one day.

    • @betula2137
      @betula2137 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@advanturest To be the 'well actually', a few towns do get regular (annual to biannual) snow or sleet, and some cities get snow visible to them (eg Hobart, Canberra), or frequent frosts.
      However, snow has decreased in commonality, as when it used to occur reliably in many towns (including CBR before the 50s, though not groundcover), it has now turned into a sporadic one.
      But yes, mainly alpine resort villages and some plateau towns, no major cities.
      But snow is still more in volume than Switzerland in the Aussie Alps so I'll take that as a win

    • @advanturest
      @advanturest  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@80ZX I was there at the start of November and where we were planning on riding was closed because it got covered in snow during the week. Our 2nd idea was a failure because the rivers were up and we couldn’t cross. We ended up going back to long plain and just doing a short little trip. We camped at Hainsworth hut. Some of the tracks were pretty wet. The guys I rode with went for a spin after setting up camp and they said it only got worse. I think they’ve had more snow this week which is crazy. I think December is probably a good option.
      I’m hoping to upload that trip overnight, if you’re interested in watching it should be live tomorrow. 🤞

      Cheers Marc! You’re so right, if I waited until I had all the right gear I would never get out on the trails. A few mates didn’t come on this trip because of the bad weather forecast! I’m very happy Josh is crazy enough to come with me no matter what the forecast is! The others missed a great trip! And don’t worry, no reviews here, I love bikes but I also love cameras, my goal with starting this TH-cam channel was to get better at story telling and just somewhere to share my footage. I’m surprised how many people have been watching. Its really been inspiring getting nice comments like yours so thank you! I can’t wait for the next one! Fingers crossed it’s soon if I can get out of this Sydney lockdown!

      Yeah it was pretty nice, That area is very new to me but a mate wants to head back there soon. I plan to look into some slightly different routes to mix it up a bit. I'll more than likely make a video of that trip but for now I'm not sure about other option. Also in the description of that video I put a ride with GPS link. Its almost identical to what we did but they started closer to Canberra and rode down the road by the look of it. I'll add my loop to google drive and post a link here when its done. I probably wont have time tonight though.

    • @advanturest
      @advanturest  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Haha Nope, and I'm never carrying them again. the horrible noise they made was so hard to edit with. Maybe you can tow a trailer with your gear and do a bush doof for us 😂
      Before I went on this ride I was trying to think of a topic to talk about. I decided I would talk about tents because Josh is on his 3rd and I want another smaller and lighter one. Well my plans never really happen when I ride with other people. Maybe I'll have to do a solo ride to have time to chat to myself. The weight for this one was up there again because I took heaps of warm clothes and 5 beers. I knew it was going to be relatively flat so I wasn't that concerned about weight and I wanted to be warm.

    So inspirational - can I ask, what GoPro are you shooting with, and does it have a Mic attached?

    • @advanturest
      @advanturest  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I have a GoPro 8 and the audio is straight from the camera. I do have a foam sock on it though which helps with wind noise. I use to have a GoPro 5 and the audio was terrible, the 8 is so much better. You may see a few shots where I had a microphone on. This was a a cheap mic from eBay plugged into an old phone capturing audio all day. It was garbage so I didn’t use it. I think it would have also been a nightmare to find the audio I wanted as each track was about 4 hours long 😂
