Yeah if you notice when pivotal members leave bands they still have a lil fire under the belt until reality strikes and by the second album without them they suck same happened with interpol lol
I think they would have finished Ultra buy 2003 if Alan was still involved. He didn't write any songs but produced them instead. Sometimes a band just needs to be a band and let the strength of the song writing take centre stage than production and 'technology' take away the essence of a song

I would love one Last hoora with Alan in Depechemode & with an added bonus for a track or two with Vince Clark. That would be something Wilder & Clark meshing styles. I’d say we would have a Masterpiece of an Album.

Alan was the atmosphere. There is no Depeche Mode without him. It’s a tripod. It’s Gahan, gore, and wilder. PERIOD.
