We have seen the launch of the Callaway Mavrik, Taylormade Sim, Callaway Mavrik Max, Taylormade Sim Max and Callaway Mavrik sub zero... which is the best driver? What’s the best driver of 2020? What’s the longest driver of 2020? The Taylormade Sim vs Callaway Mavrik.. let’s do it... and let’s do it now!
I’ve watched a ton of reviews I’m not even a Callaway fan I’ve always been team Titleist but the dispersion on the Mavrik is world class.
Dispersion is down to the player ,not the club!
The Maverik with the tour ad shaft would look AMAZING!
Looks-wise, personally I would get over the color of the Mavrik before I'd get over that protrusion on the Sim.

To be fair I saw the color choices on your earlier video today. A few of those looks fantastic! Too bad there's an up-charge to fix that ugly Stock Orange!

They're dropping the price $50 less than the Sim, and making it hideous. That way you don't feel as bad when you spend $600 to get the custom colors.
@@Joehockey1990 If they were truly smart they'd drop the price a bit on custom colors for people who get custom fit from retailers and other places like Club Champion / TXG! A bit of incentive for people to not just buy off the rack drivers could be huge for their business. The more people there are out there with CALLAWAY equipment that has been properly fit would have massive word of mouth impact! Hen your buddy is suddenly knocking it by you and hitting more fairways it makes you take notice..... You can't buy that kind of advertising!

Love the comparisons and reviews. I would think the comparison would be Maverik sub zero vs. Sim, and Sim Max vs. Maverik as these two will suit the most golfers. Keep up the great work.
Took the mavrik on course today. An impressive head. Loved the feel and sound over the GBB epic, rogue and epic flash. Only had a stock shaft so I can't compare peak performance but the results were impressive
Excellent review as usual. Driver heads are so fantastic these days. It really boils down to matching them with the proper shafts and which one folks hit more fairways with.
100% agree..... getting custom fit is the secret to getting more distance anymore. These clubs are all so good now.
Another great video! Would love to see a full "face-off". SIM vs Mavrik vs Speedzone vs Mizuno vs Titleist vs Ping vs Cleveland vs anything else that might be 'up there' in most popular drivers. Would also be great to see the same with fairways, hybrids, irons and wedges. Even just a compilation/ comparison of the numbers you have hit with the premium products from each brand? Keep up the excellent work, whatever you do!
Just go to a review of each and screenshot the numbers. Spoiler - they are all the same, buy on what looks nicer to you.

Great video as always. I own a Rogue and I’m guessing there are others out there who hold onto their driver for two years +.

I have the Mavrik and the orange grinds your gears the more you look at it. It annoys me that it doesn’t have weighting like the epic flash. But you don’t lose distance on any part of the face for some reason. That weight on the SIM sole makes you feel like you’re sweeping the ball away which can make you feel more confident. Mavrik is a hyper active child.

The Mavrik color scheme reminds me of the muscle cars of the late 1960s early 1970s in the US. It seems the dispersion is better on the Mavrik. Keep these videos coming.
Great vid James! ... I don't know if I agree with your choice on this one lol. Preference wise your def consistent, and I get the color and sound issue on these drivers. But how can you pass up eliminating your fore lefts?? Like you said that would be gold to you. Def a tough call. Great vid again, would love to see the Maverik go head to head against the Epic.

James- Always curious if it is truly performance that is statistically significant that gets you to make a switch, or is it more subjective, or is just simply that you can and want something different? I guess I am asking what is the criteria which would get you to make a switch.

How come you tested sim max vs standard mavrik, surely max with front weight would be longer than standard weight back mavrik
Great review. Would like to see you test the Cleveland HD turbo. Seen it on a few other channels and it seems to be a rocket. Would like to see it up against the big dogs.

I honestly believe Calloway used the orange to keep the price low, and push those with the means onto their custom color platform. I personally look forward to picking up an unsold orange one in the clearance bin next season.

I replaced my old Big Bertha with a new Mavric driver. I couldn’t believe how much more yardage I was getting on my drives. I guess new technology does make a difference.
Waiting on my sim max cant wait certainly impressed with the numbers over my current ping g410
The Sim against the Cobra SZ. Also the Diamana Black shaft is incredible this year. Maybe a review of the optional shafts that are free with each vendor that can make a huge difference.

James, maybe sometime you could do a video on individual club makers? It would just be fun to see what they design, how it works, and why they have their own studios.
We've had our differences in the past but I totally agree with what you say about the Callaway colors "Why do they do that" it's almost like they are trying to get us to pay another $100 to get black on the bottom rather than green or orange yuck. Callaway if someone wants orange or whatever color than black on the bottom let them pay $100 to get it. I think I'd rather paint the orange black myself. How about comparing these two with the Cobra?

Mavrik looks a bit old school to me. it may be more forgiving but Sim definitely allows for more distance(speed injection and the inertia generator).

Hi James, I understand why manufacturers bring out clubs every couple of months,but how far or further than 5/6/7 years ago do they go for the club golfer , irons all they have done is put a number 7 on what was a 5 iron and so on

I agree with you James about the sound - the Sim sounds better and it also looks better to me.
You need a new launch monitor. Go with either GC Quad or Trackman. You get some weird numbers, 4 yards of roll, over 6000 spin in your Mavrik review. What do you think?

Honestly I absolutely LOVE the sim. Not because I am going to buy it or have any intention of buying it. I love it because it allowed me to bag an ex demo M6 driver in pretty much brand new condition for £150.
Did you leave the 2 shockers in for the averages? One was only around 250 carry
Both clubs compare very well, but the SIM has it on looks alone. Would be interested to see the other colour options for the Mavrik. Really not keen on the Orange finish.

On the results page the 3mph difference in club speed and only 1mph difference in ball speed, is that down to strike locations or just sample anomalies?🤔

Still haven't seen anything to replace my m3...SIM is growing on me but not paying 500$ for fractional advantages if any at all
I think the Sim club head speed is a misread. When I tested it, the ball speed was the same as the maverick and so was the smash factor. But oddly enough the Sim gave me higher clubhead speed which led me to believe that the read is incorrect. 3 miles an hour faster with the same smash factor would lead to about 10 yards further
Still can't get over the look of that inertia generator on the SIM 🤔🤔🤔But have seen a post from Callaway Europe advertising the custom shop stuff this morning so would be able to get over the colour thing there 👍👍⛳

I play the Epic Flash with the green head color. The face is definitely forgiving for ball speed and yardage on miss hits. I am sure that Mavrik is equally a great choice. Sad the Mavrik does not have a slide weight though
Well that's a tight race between the SIM and Mavrik. They are neck and neck in distance.
please compare against ST200 vs SIM max vs TS3 vs Mavrik but try to use the same shafts or at least same weight.
I prefer the overall looks of the callaway but if you really can't see the protrusion on the TM from the top I would give it a try.🤔
Why do you compare a low spin taylormade model with a standard one in the callaway?

Wouldn't touch either of these if i had to change it would be the cobra sz going in my bag only because i game the cobra f9 and I'm that impressed with it. The f9 will be staying in my bag for years to come
No disrespect but you have tested TaylorMade's low spin option against Callaway's basic model? It's not a fair comparison.... Subzero would have lowered your spin, potentially gaining more distance. Good video nontheless.
Could you do a 3 way comparison between the sim-Ts2-st200. Looking to change out my 8 year old Titleist 913d2
See the sim with the red shaft at the weekend and it looks shocking 🤮 really kills the look
2 yards difference over 300 yards is less than 1% therefore we are choosing on personal preference alone. I like Callaway so that's where I would go.
The SIM reminds me of the SLDR and Jetspeed colour scheme.
Would love to see you test these two drivers against their 3 year old comparable drivers (so original Epic v Mavrik, M1/M2 v Sim). Not sure the difference would be worth £500+
Don't think you could go wrong with either club, be fitted for both and choose for your self.
Compare the SIM with the 2019 f9 Cobra.
Or look at his F9 numbers compared with these 2. There will be hardly any difference. Its all limited by the R&A. 😂

I didn't make the switch from M4 to M6 so bursting to try the sim asap. I've not had a callaway driver since the Ftiz tour. Seen to hit them left.
Only thing that worries me about the maverick is that it could be a “Highway to the danger zone 🎶 “ and I try stay out of there

I'd like to see the maverik against the rogue. Most are comparing it to the epic flash but it's not replacing that club is replacing the road so would like to see how much better it is than that
