Early Access to some videos on Instragram: instagram.com/kevchenny/ Going to make this and two other videos public before the Second and Third Clue videos that Arya Stark of Winterfell will Kill the Mountain in Game of Thrones Season 8 (since I've spent over 100+ already researching, scripting, editing those videos, and this is historically the worst week to upload videos). I'm pumped though for those two videos. More solid evidence to that theory =)) ********************************************************************** This is a *NON-SPOILER VIDEO* for Season 8 on a *NON-SPOILER CHANNEL* So out of respect for the community that does not want ANY spoilers (plot leaks, plot outlines, casting, set production photos, etc...), please do not mention ANY spoilers. Thank you. =)) To everyone on Instagram seeing this today, July 4th, happy 4th. Hope you and your loved ones are drinking plenty of fluids and having a great day =)) - Kev
bridge4 Love your vids Kev.. Been a sub a while now. Ever since the 1st video I was hooked. I waa born and raised in South Philly.. Now live in NJ with my ol'lady.. She wouldn't come to the city.. Can't really blame her. What part of NJ you at
There seems to be a strange connection between Syrio, Jaqen and Arya. They have all proven they can kill, but they tend to do so for the right reasons. The scene where Syrio takes down the soldiers isn't believable and does not add up. A wooden sword won't cut someone's neck, nor will it's impact as depicted at low speed knock them out. So, is it really him purely fighting or are the soldiers doing an acting trick to get Arya to run and protect herself? The soldiers can then plausibly claim they were not responsible for her escape and Syrio can become Jaquen. With some ability to predict the future he might know that Arya is going to meet him on the road later. Plausible?
I got VERY excited when I saw this video. About a year or so ago, I left a comment on someones fan channel (hell, it might have been yours, for all I know) about the metal sword sound and nobody seemed to pick up on it. Great vid, but it didn't cover the piece of the first Arya/Syrio training scene. When Ned walks into the archway to watch the training, there is a very quick shot of Syrio holding a metal sword, and blocking a metal sword. It takes place right about 3:13 in this video. th-cam.com/video/L495PL44oKo/w-d-xo.html I could never figure out if that flash happened inside Ned's mind, as if he is perhaps remembering Syrio from the past, or if it's a foreshadowing of his death. Something tells me that if there is something to the theory of Syrio surviving, or the theory that it's really a faceless man posing as Syrio, that part of that scene holds a clue to it. I don't generally try to write directly to a content creator, but I would love it if you did a little piece on that vision in the first training scene. Your vids are great, keep up the good work!
So these only explains that they have the same view. Could also mean syrio might also have been a part of faceless man and then left like arya. Or just in general they share the same opinion. Which is why the the faceless man showed interest in arya as did syrio.
you really think its only starks on those spikes? they would spike anyone worth spiking and such a renowned fighter that fought against them and saved a stark would totally be spiked/
I once came across the actor who played syrio in a hotel bar 4 years ago. I asked him if he died in the show. He said that he couldn’t tell me but he had been speaking to George. He had a smile in his eye and I knew that he did not know either and was telling me what I wanted to hear. Great guy though. We will find out soon enough.
"Mr Yerolemou, you still haven't paid for your room..." "My name is Syrio Forel, and you will be speaking to me with more respect!" "Mr Yerolemou, please..." *takes out reception with complimentary toothbrush*
There is another clue as to the fate of Syrio Forel. Sandor Clegane laughs at Meryn Trant's fighting prowess. Bronn does too, claiming he's only good at beating little girls. It seems as though, considering how important the reputation for fighting ability is in Westeros, that Meryn Trant if he had Won, would definitely brag about defeating the first sword of Braavos. Maybe not with a wooden sword but still, the first sword of Braavos.... in a duel. So why has no one heard about this? It seems more likely to me that Meryn Trant lost the fight.
We have to take Sandors wording wit a grain of salt since sandor has a specific hatred towards the concept of knights, mainly because of his brother, but also because of knights like trant, who beat little girls In the books, Jaime refers to trant as okay. I forget the exact word, but I think it was "adequate." and adequate from jaimes eyes speaks volumes. Tells me trant wasn't a killer among killers, but probably good enough in plate and mail to defeat syrio, as evidence by his ability to split syrios sword into pieces. Sadly :(
Trant would have had a reputation for killing Syrio for sure (if he had done so) but idk if the hound would have heard about it by the time they had the conversation or if the hound would be impressed by Trant killing Syrio. He would probably more likely think Syrio was an idiot. He was a firm believer in armor and big fucking swords.
Donnie, but Syrio also isn't a famous Westeros knight. The only people he is ever mentioned by are Ned, Arya and Sansa when she insults Arya. No knight ever mentions him when talking about the all time greats because he is of Bravos and no one in Westeros really puts much thought into them. So I personally disagree that he (or anyone) would have a rep for killing Arya's "dancing instructor". The Hound definitely would not have cared, he even insults Arya for learning water dancing, as you pointed out, for it being useless against a knight in armor with a bigger sword.
And one thing I was never clear on was if Ned was secretly getting Arya training and "dancing instructor" was their code word. I don't remember anyone calling Syrio anything other than that or mentioning him training Arya in swordsmanship.
Lorelei_Megumai No, because she would’ve paused a second and then looked back. The timing shows that she was just looking at where she heard the sound come from. Also the audio makes it sound like it’s coming from behind, and the the front/left
@@tchop6839 sounds like the sword id got for the stairs, and the yelling from behind maybe she looked because someone yelled from behind and also made a decision because of the sound upstairs.
The eyes are naturally drawn to sound, it's human reflex. If she looked behind her, that actually does mean (very very likely) that the clanging noise was in fact behind her. SYRIO LIVES, IM A BELIEVER... haha. seriously though
I thought surely he would've been quick enough to pick up a sword from one of the Lannister soldiers on the ground. Then he could've killed Trant. (The Hound certainly thought so.) I wonder why he didn't. Maybe he did knock out Trant and take off. Trant would nevere admit it. I really want to believe that's what happened.
if he survived it was with one of those swords and maybe a helmet or a shield if there was any near. really, he could have just outsmarted Trant, maybe lure him into tight quarters.
I read something about it, though I'm not sure I agree with it. Most people say he did not pick upa proper sword because in the Braavosi Water Dance they use rapiers and other skinny swords. The swords on the ground were longswords, much heavier and made for another kind of sword fight, more appropriate for hacking and slashing, while the water dance is based on sword thrusts. So, they say Syrio wouldn't have stood a chance either way. But I think not, I disagree. Syrio would be a thousand time better with a rapier than a longsword, but the man had the fighting insticts, could dodge and parry until he found an opening. But probably the true answer to you question is because the directors made it so.
lol.. GRRM must be laughing himself at all these "deep dive" analysis videos while eating a stack of pancakes with a golden fork thinking "Damn.. I should have thought of that when writing this crap!"
The last scene of GoT is going to be Arya going to some random dock to hire a boat to see what's west of Westeros, and then Syrio will turn around and say, "Now we will begin the dance- the water dance".
I love how there's just enough information to speculate though, one of the best assets of the story. It breathes immortality into the story, as our dialogue will continue even after the story concludes.
I went to the GOT exhibit at SXSW a few years ago and they had an "In Memoriam" video wall where they showed a photo of everyone who had died at that point; even the most insignificant characters. Syrio was not in the memoriam.
But the sound before the sword falls is the sound of a blunt object being hit against something, which could very well have been the wooden sword against the knights head, knocking him out and making him drop his sword. Syrio didnt kill anyone during the attack, he only incapacitated them, who is to say he didnt with Trant as well, it sounds like he did,
Trant is not the type to admit he was defeated either by an unarmored man with a broken wooden stick. He would keep that quiet as long as possible being a knight and Kingsguard.
We all want Syrio to be alive don't we? Most of us want him to be Jaqen. There MUST be a reason Jaqen was so keen on 'helping' Arya. Why would the Faceless Men be interested in a little girl? Why/ how did Jaqen end up in the Black Cells? Why did we not see Syrio die?? Aghhh!!! SO many questions!!! The whole story is a conundrum lol. But that's why we love it. Right? Great video as usual, you see things I never would. Looking forward to the next one. Thanks Kev X
I hear ya. I'm torn. I lean towards him being dead. But how jaqen got to the cell's is odd. As fr as why did he help arya, I'd say just friendship, starting with him noticing her pretending to be a boy,and then her saving his life :)) But for the first time ever,I'm open to the idea of him surviving as jaqen bc if all the clues in the boOKs Ita annjoying that i dont have an opinion one way or the other now tho lol
It could be many things, Jaqen could have been in Kings Landing finding out secrets surrounding dragons before heading to Old Town but he got caught snooping and thrown in the cells.
I don’t think Syrio “died” because they never show his demise or his body. They showed Ned’s and even Sansa’s sept (the nun lady) head on spikes but never mention Syrio again. It’s just odd that they showed all the other side characters from Season One, dying or dead except Syrio. Also, I appreciate your interpretation of the sound of the sword falling, but Arya clearly looks back at the way she came (Syrio and Trant) the fight up the stairs was raging but the sword dropping was so clear and distinct and the way Arya looks back at that exact moment, just seems too perfect to be coincidental to me. It would require the director to tell Maisie Williams to turn around and pause at that exact moment and the sound engineer to mix that sword dropping sounds volume much higher all by coincidence. I just don’t see this quality of show allowing that to slip through post production, especially in the first season when everything was so purposefully crafted. Love your videos, you’ve given me so much insight on the show! Keep it Up!
I hear ya. Looking back was maybe a sign. But the shadows resonate with me as a bigger sign than her look back, which may have just been related to something a lot of characters face in the books (Jon and dany for sure, maybe others) " if I look back I am lost" But if we include the canon, then that spot was out past the kitchen. I hear ya though. There's no proof that the layout is the same in the show, so it's still a mystery :)
Justin Cannon Exactly My Point/Thought. And why for awhile I had a high hope he could be alive. However, Later more " Major" character are killed off -off screen an never show their body. So chances are he gone. But I still found it odd how for around 2 and half season no one brought up Syrio was deafted, missing, or dead. An just brought up later in a conversation as a nod back to season one an to get fans to question " What If".
Justin Cannon I never gave up on the Hound. I felt because they never showed him die there was a small chance he survived. I’ve held hope Syrio is alive too.
At 4:20 is the book quote "Never do what they expect." A lesson from Syrio. Perhaps the reason Syrio says "The First Sword of Braavos Does Not Run," was to establish an expectation....perhaps he did run once Arya was safe..? And I'm about 50/50 on if Jaqen might have been wearing Syrio's face while training her in season 1.
I miss Syrio, he was awesome. Seeing that Meryn Trant lived, and looking at his personality as a whole, there's no way he would spare Syrio and throw him in the dungeons. Only thing that could cause Syrio's survival are either Syrio fleeing (which he probably didn't) or someone outranking Trant coming in and savind Syriox but who? Cersei could make Trant obey, but why would she be outside in all the chaos and fighting? For no reason. Neither would Joffrey. Jaime, Tyrion and Tywin weren't in King's Landing. Trant wouldn't listen to Varys, Baelish or Pycelle. The only one that remains, that I can think of, is ser Barristan Selmy. Tell me what you think. I want Syrio to live
Lol. But doctors hand writing is more Legible then mine own. Which basically means, I can never understand anything I write when I do it with pen and paper, like I've been doing today for a non game of thrones project. Ugh. I never learn lol
Syria does not kill the other guards because he has a wooden sword. He just hits them hard enough to knock them out. The metal sound was probably Meryn’s sword falling with him after getting knocked out. After that Syrio most likely leaves them alive and runs away which is why Meryn is still alive.
Nice catch on that metallic sound. I refuse to believe Meryn Trant defeated Syrio. Like you, I'm not 100% sold that Syrio is still alive but I hope he is.
@@north.by.northeast i thought trant was a kingsgaurd for a reason? He can't be so bad that he gets beat by a guy without any armor or a proper weapon. Idk
@@Berlinbower Ahh I wrote that comment so long ago and we all know how the programme ended now :) Anyway, I didn't mean Trant didn't deserve to be a kingsguard (or even their Captain or whatever he was) - he clearly had talents (not all to do with sword skills) but Syrio was very quick and especially without armour which slows people down a lot. The quick can defeat the big and strong such as Prince Oberyn showed although his own hubris defeated him.
@@north.by.northeast fair enough, i didn't see this was from a year ago lmfao. I feel as he doesn't get enough credit. I always think of The Hound when i see meryn trant "any boy with a sword can beat 3 meryn trants"
Syrio's first and only lesson to her is to out-think not out-fight your enemies. He doesn't pick up a sword because he wants them to under estimate him.
Maybe Jaqen came alive the moment Syrio ‘died’...the man is Faceless after all. And “only death can pay for life”...that’s why another Jaqen (a Faceless man) drank poison and died after Arya murdered Meryn. This makes me believe that the Faceless Men don’t kill anyone without reason.
We've seen Arya Stark easily dodge blows from Brienne even when disarmed. If Syrio's agility is anywhere comparable (which I'm pretty sure it is), it's entirely possible he was able to get a lucky blow on Meryn Trant and knock him out. It wouldn't surprise me if in season 8 Jaqen H'ghar is revealed to have been Syrio all along.
3:34 It's unlikely Meryn Trant would take Syrio prisoner given that the Braavosi covered Arya's escape by injuring/disarming five soldiers. However, as they were Lannister men perhaps Trant didn't care about them and in the show, he chooses to break Syrio's sword when he could just stab him. It's possible he was drawing out his death (because Trant is a sadistic mofo) but perhaps he disarmed and spared him after all. Regardless, I think the theory that Forel is H'ghar is pure fan fiction. H'ghar treats Arya differently from Forel. While they eventually part as friends, he initially only helps her because he is in her debt and once this is repaid he leaves. In contrast, Syrio Forel had clearly grown to care for Arya because he was willing to die to ensure her escape. Does that sound like Jaqen H'ghar to you?
I’m pretty sure he’s dead. But, he was one of my favourite characters in the first season. I’ve learned to not become so attached to characters in GoT since then.
As much as I love Syrio, I do not want to see him alive. I kinda do, but not really, because that would take away the sacrifice he made to save this girl he barely knew. Besides, the things we love and lose are what gives value to what we have, just like how our own inevitable deaths give meaning to our lives.
This might've been mentioned before, but during the time that Ned hired Syrio for Arya, Robert was having talks with Varys about hiring the Faceless Men to kill Daenerys and Viserys. Perhaps Syrio was a representative to the King, who would surely bring in a lot of business for the assassins.
Except they have zero reason to be impersonating a fencing instructor for that job. Also, Varys would be hiring them through his network, almost certainly in Braavos.
I always hoped and believed Syrio lived based on a few things that I considered foreshadowing. The sound of the metal sword dropping. The hound laughing at the notion, the greatest swordsman who ever lived could be beaten by Sir Meryn. (Sp?) The broken wooden sword matched the sword of the giant statue entering Bravos. Finally Sir Meryn looked to be trying to tell Ayra something right before she killed him. This video is very well thought out and explained. Once again, fantastic video ! I really appreciate what you do for GOT fans. If the metal sword we heard drop had nothing to do with Syrio, the rest of what I thought was foreshadowing may no longer be valid. Great job as always Bridge4 👍🏼👍🏼👍🏼
She may have looked back because of the sword sound upstairs, and her first instinct was to turn around. Then she realized that's a bad idea, and there's a third option: down into the darkness
VonDa in Wonderland Im opposed to that arguement as Jaquen and Sirio fight completely different ways and Sirio was the first sword of bravos whereas Jaquen was this creepy dude collecting faces.
@@workindad BUT if Syrio was a face he collected prior, then he would BECOME Syrio and behave exactly as Syrio did. I would imagine that jaqen knows a great many fighting styles.
Thank you so much for the shoutout Kev. I really appreciate it. Absolutely loved this theory video of yours. I never knew about this sound. Arya was extremely brave and smart, adore this chapter!
By just using my head, I think it's a little unlikely that Arya would just so happen to run into another bravosi who also just so happens to be a member of the bravosi death cult. If they were one and the same it would make more sense and fit better imo
True true. I hear ya. And yeh, it's very fishy. It seems like it might be true. But there are problems with it too,so I just can't commit I could definitely be wrong tho :))
Found you today and you are fantastic. Emergency Awesome was my go to for Thrones you got him beat. The seriousness in your voice through a wide range of lore is perfect for The GoT fan who wants to get lost. Thank you very very much.
All I need is a decade on a deserted island and I too will have the capacity it fine line every nuance in the books. How are you able to shut out the world enough to delve so deeply into the story (show and/or books) and prepare such thought-provoking content for my simple mind? I hardly make it through a video without some demand on my time, energy or attention. Thank you again for sharing your interest with me.
lol. well i spend about 80 hours a week on this stuff. sometimes more. and as you know, i rarely get even 3 videos done a week. so time is key. but like you said, it's about finding time i quit my job to do this. so i have my "work time." and on top of that, im a lone wolf. i have only seen my mother once in the last two years, and hung out with my sister and brother-in-law one time in the last two years. and i don't have social media. i deleted facebook a long time ago. plus i ignore text messages. PMs weird me out for some reason. so im very disconnected from the world unless im face to face with someone, which is not very often since im grinding to get to a point where i can actualyl spend time with my family =)) hopefully by the end of this year =))
bridge4 Dude, we all appreciate the enormous sacrefices that you've made and energy you've put into this. Please take some time off to see your mother, 2 years are 2 too many.
bridge4 Family IS important yadayadayada ....but I would appreciate it if you stuck it out through season 8. Joking. I'm jooooking. Live your life. Do it. If you ceased to post anything else I'd just rewatch your old stuff and soak up what I could. I gain a lot of insight from your videos ... wait.....is it insight if the concepts are yours? Nevermind. Have a great weekend.
I would if I could. But i spent most of my time as a TH-camr earnong less than my bills each month. I'm finally covering my bills, and I'm hopeful. But I need to grind for a few more months at the least before I feel comfortable enough to schedule intentional off days. For now, I only take off a half day or full day when my body is just completely zapped of energy lol Don't worry tho. It's motivation. I'm gonna get there. And at the latest, I'm taking my mom to Kristen Chenoweth in a couple months. Hopefully something sooner though :))
Have just discovered your channel today. Absolutely fantastic work, so thorough. It's clear how much time and effort goes into these videos. Totally loving them, thank you!!!
When Arya killed Ser Meryn Trant, she didn't give him a chance to respond to her. Maybe they didn't let Trant respond because he would have said that he didn't kill Syrio🤷
With recent acts of Arya on the show... for one not to consider that Syrio is the faceless man... escaping or killing the guards would have been incredibly easy. And I honestly believe Syrio is also the faceless man, Jaqen.
Great analysis! Did you ever notice that Syrio looks just like the titan of bravos in the pose with the broken sword? "The sword is part of your arm, can you drop your arm?". I want to believe Syrio lived, love QOT.🌹
One issue I have is that he assumed he would lose, or he wouldn't have sent a little girl off by herself in a situation where the girl gets caught 99 times out of a hundred :-/ Im finally open to the idea that he's alive tho. But not ready to get on that train :)
The Lady Olenna Tyrell I thought this the moment this video started. This narrator really taps you into the show. Making everything make sense and provoking more revelations.
Paul Osborne Agreed. Kevin really does a deep examination of the subject he's exploring, then puts it all together in a beautifully narrated format. I agree with many of his theories, but the conversation remains open and respectful even in disagreement, a vital art that many have lost in these times. He also promotes conversations on his site by moderating the abusive trolls. He deserves every success! Keep cool, I wish winter was coming, it's way too hot outside! Love QOT.🌹 😊
you're too nice, m'Lady. there are actually going to be a lot of mean/trolling responses in the short-term. i had spent countless hours blocking them over the last year but i recently unblocked everyone. and you're part of the reason m'Lady lol. so i dont want spoilers. and last year, people spoiled viserion and LF for me. even worse than reading comments with spoilers, was when i read a spoiler comment and someone ELSE, who didnt want spoilers, was responding to the mean person saying "WTF!?!" even though it wasnt my fault, it made me feel terrible so i've spend more hours than you'd believe in 2018, going to a few channels that i know do spoilers. id open their videos, pauyse them so as not to hear anything, and then mass block every single person reading the comments. many of those people were my friends im sure. im guessing you may have been one of them, because i havent seen you comment for awhile. maybe its just a coincidence tho and to be clear, i would never have blocked you intentionally. i love you!! =)) but it's a grinding process to just click, clicl click yadda yada. like a zombie. doing 500 people takes awhile. and i'd usually be listening and half/watching news or another show while doing it. so i periodically would go to a few peoples channels, like yourself, Mel of Winterfell, and double check to see if you had been blocked in one of those mass blocking sessions last week, i decided it's not worth it. im unknowingly blocking too many people that i look at as friends. so i unblocked everyone. and if i ever start seeing spoilers, im just going to disable comments for all videos. so thats the new plan but in the short-term, im going to have to deal with the sad, angry, and trolling people until i reblock all of them :-/ so beware. this community has become dark and full of terrors again! lol
bridge4 Kev, thanks for your kind comments. I wasn't blocked, thank goodness. You've got some great friends that I'm proud to call "bannermen" Richard hough, mel of winterfell, Amelia C, Cammy O, Rhee, Scottish Girl, Mark PJF85, Many many more. We're all friends on multiple forums. I think most of us stopped comments on your forum because of your pinned post..."If you watch other channels " but most in this great group are considerate, responsible and respectful adults who wouldn't spoil. Remember that dude who chased me site to site just to troll? Omg he has a channel, he did a livestream with a different channel I'm subbed with and when I made a donation to my friends channel the troll guest went on and on, (used same phrases, wording etc.) as the ugly troll. BTW, right after this my friends channel got a demonitized ding, coincidence? I don't know who peed in his cornflakes but "the hate runs deep with this one". I hope you're well and thanks for all that you do, love QOT.🌹
It's pretty typical of Martin to break tradition by killing off characters who seem like they have so much more to offer down the line. He repeatedly demonstrates that honour (a mere concept) leads to death > "The first sword of Bravos does not run"; winning is always determined by either cunning, skill or brute strength. Note how Barristan lived with honour, yet it was meaningless as those he served had none. Another reason to kill off Syrio is that he already served his purpose plot-wise. The real cliffhanger here is the "What do we say to the God of Death? Not today." line. When he says it for the last time, it is for Arya. But it can't be coincidence that he says this line and we are not explicitly told he dies. If Syrio was able to change his appearance like Jaqen, he could have even killed Trant and "become" him. This would make for tragic irony as Arya kills Trant to avenge Syrio.
More theory. The only ones born during the bleeding star, were the dragons. Making Dany azor ahai. And Jon the prince that was promised. Thats all I got
jon was borne while Ser Arthur Dayne, sword of the morning, died outside. and also, Eddard laid Dayne's sword at the foot of Lyanna's bed. the pommel is a fallen star =))
I see where your going..cool theory. Also its 3 dragons. There must be 3, and you have a dead (ice) dragon and you have a fire dragon..a song of ice and fire. hahahah don't know where the 3 dragon fits in. Its a work in progress.
I say cersei will be attacked bt white walkers...or daenerys, and she will hide in the dungeons where arya will find her and kill her this way going more and more into darkness
I think what happened to arya and the betrayal of Ned will be adressed next season. Arya will meet Varys...and she has "met" him before. She will recognise his voice and know he was the guy who knew they were about to kill Ned. I think why Varys was planning, why he protected gendry and what did he hear in the flames as a child will all be adressed next season. They will learn whats up with the WWs...and that Varys already knew about it. And what Rhaegar and Lyanna knew about the prophecy.....remember Varys also worked for the mad king. I don't think Varys wants to be near power...I think Varys knew what MUST happen and he was guiding people towards their destiny.....what did Varys hear in the flames?
it'd be very cool to find that out. and find out who sent him that message. but i fear that it was someone like kinvara, and she's gone from the show. maybe quaithe? it'd be cool to see her again =))
My bad. It's scripted. When I speak off the cuff,I sound insane and cringeworthy Occasionally I get amped up even when read scripts tho. Like if im talking about a fight or fighters. But most of the time, I probably seem so sad and somber, bc this story is so tragic :-O Beautifully tragic tho :)
bridge4 I have a different take on it. The sorcerer took varys.. a boy with dragons blood (potentially killing the dragon..unless he knew its not him but he has the right blood to do a spell)...and when he did his spell the flames turned BLUE. What if the one communicating through the flames was the NK? He did also trick Jon and company into going up north...to give him a dragon. It can only be a select group of people that can talk through the flames. The red women knew who HE is and what he said to varys as a child....but its not them. Their conversation with varys was basically "we know you know whats gonna happen, keep your mouth shut and don't intervene or else"...They know whats meant to happen but they don't tell dany and they don't want varys to do so either. The one talking through the flames can see the future....knows what will happen...like bloodraven waited for bran and the undying knew dany would come. Maybe the undying knew she would come cause the flames/shade of the evening told them. But they just receive the message they don't send it or try to controle destiny....besides trying to stop dany from leaving. Its not the red women or the undying...they just worship and follow orders. Same goes for the faceless men. And Quaithe sends messages through dreams ...which weirdly enough mell thought was the great other...which is why she doesn't want to sleep. When dany was in the house of the undying she saw the same door as beyond the wall (the NQ's castle), she saw a black and white door like the faceless men and she saw a blue beating heart. I think those details say just as much as she saw behind those doors. The problem with GOT is you don't know which seemingly separate fractions are working on the same side, against which others, why and which ones are the good guys. That scene in the house of the undying suggests that the undying, Faceless men and WWs are working towards the same goal. Its team ice...the blue heart. The undying tried to stop dany and interacted with euron who wants to burn the trees and awaken a God of death. Which is why the faceless men helped kill Eurons brother, are looking for a book on the death of dragons..and targeted arya. I think the Starks might be the descendents of the NQ or something...their abilities are too simular...it would also explain the crypts. I think Varys heard something team ice was planning when they cut him and he has been trying to prevent it ever since. He also locked the sorcerer up and made sure he couldn't talk about it. Something has been targeting Targaryens and Baratheons...they both had trouble having kids....the kids they did have got killed or like varys they got cut. The flames told mell to basically whipe out house baratheon...only gendry got away (with varys's help). Varys helped hide only gendry for a reason. But if the undying ,euron ,WWs ,faceless men are on one side. Quaithe warned dany and bran/3ER is meant to stop the WWs. I think Quaithe might be bloodravens sister. They are on the same side and its the side of the Targaryens and Starks. The question is: why? And on which side are the red women. Cause yes they say they are team dany and the red heart would suggest it. But mell killing the Baratheons suggests something else.....unless the AA that needs to be awakened needs to be awakened by fire...burning them would be a good thing than. Many generations ago a Targaryen king did burn himself cause he thought he would come back a dragon. And at summerhall Targaryens got burned as well trying to awaken the dragon. The red women burning Baratheons than makes sense if they think all the Targaryens are dead...that just leaves Baratheons as potential dragons to awaken by fire. I don't know what will happen next season but I think the undying, faceless men and Euron are team ice. And the red women and Varys know more than they are letting on. What are/were the faceless men planning with arya? Is she meant to be like a trojan horse or something?
Syrio was a perfect fighter yes but looking at the fact that he didnt had the real sword at the moments plus many soldiers that came along as well as telling Arya to run rises an eye brow,he could have came to look for her if he was alive for heavens sake!
One thing I don’t get with this theory. If Syria is Jah, why was he there. He’s a faceless man, an assassin, revered to be of the greatest assassins in all the 7 kingdoms. Did he have a target? Was his target one of Lannisters? Or was it Arya’s father. Was he there to complete a job? Did he ditch his contract to teach Arya and to train her to a better assassin than him? That’s what makes it really fun with all the theories and why I love this series so much.
i hear ya. that's why i lean toward Syrio having died, and Jaqen being a completley distinct characters. because there are a lotttt of clues that Syrio = Jaqen. it cleans up some stuff, and it adds value to other stuff. but the flaws that it creates outweigh the benefits imo (at least, as of today). im going to revisit my notes and spend time brainstorming once i get a chance =)
Re: "glowing eyes" in the dark -- Arya does chase cats a lot, that's how she overhears things and learns how to get around. It's actually part of Syrio's training regimen! And in the process, she realizes there's a particularly canny old black tom -- which echoes Syrio's story as well -- who ends up showing up in the Red Keep throughout the series, appearing in the godswood with Sansa and visiting Tommen at one point. I assume it as symbolically there as well as she leaves, a creature at home in the dark. And after all, Arya even adopts the name Cat during her apprenticeship to the Faceless Men.
One of the convincing arguments that I heard was that Trant isn't the kind of guy to admit that he got beaten by a guy with a sword. Further, both Bronn and the Hound seem confident that they could beat Trant at different points in the series. Given that, even with a wooden sword, I find it unlikely (within the logic of the show; in real life armor is a game changer) that Trant could've beaten Syrio. So there's a plausible scenario where Syrio beats Trant, then Trant saves face by covering it up. "Of course I killed the dancing master. Of course I won. Let's not mention it ever again." EDIT: I do think this is a great video and sound logic, even though I believe there's room for syrio to be alive. Nice work!
Thank you, Kev, for explaining the probable source of the sound. I've never believed Syrio=Jaqen, though it sure is a coincidence that one Arya mentor disappears and another shortly shows up. The only thing that gives me pause is that in the HoB&W Jaqen tells Arya "There is only one god and a Girl knows who he is." How would he know that she knows?
I hear ya. There are a lot of clues suggesting it. But I think it causes a lot of problems of true So I lean towards syrio. And admittedly, the syrio=jaqen version also lives on in my head, and in that version, I just ignore the plot holes/flaws that arise because of it :))
Syrio was there to teach Arya. "I am Syrio Forel and you will now be speaking to me with more respect." IMO these were not empty words. There was only one ending that would have a gang of lannister goons speaking to Forel with more respect. While the producers told Maisey Williams that Forel was dead, GRRM has yet to terminate the speculative questions. What we do know is that Syrio Forel is not a "viewpoint character." What we need is an expert opinion; the Hound: "Meryn Trant? The greatest swordsman who ever lived, killed by Meryn fucking Trant? [...] Any boy whore with a sword could beat three Meryn Trants. [...] Your friend's dead, and Meryn Trant's not, 'cause Trant had armor. And a big fucking sword." Hmmm, that seems like a vote for dead, but it's not a resounding vote. One thing to remember is that Arya left the Hound for dead but did not make sure of it. See how that turned out? Let's try again. Bronn: "Careful now! We don't want to get blood all over your pretty white cloak" Meryn Trant faced off against Syrio Forel, one-on-one, standing there at the end with his broken wooden sword, in some ways like the statue guarding the entrance to Bravos. Season 6, Episode 8: the Waif pursues Arya through the streets and alleys of Bravos. At one point we see a shadow behind the Waif. The shadow on the wall looks like the shadow of Syrio Forel watching over Arya. "Quiet as a shadow." Dead or not, Syrio still casts a standing shadow over the Thrones world.
bridge4 I believe Syrio and the Titan protecting Bravos. I forget the name of it but Arya passes under it when she heads out to find Jaquen. But I'm not entirely sure if that's what he meant...
Syrio beat up 4 guys with a wooden sword. So there were 4 weapons lying around yet he chose to continue fighting with his wooden sword....why would he do that?
Me thinks that resorting to violence in front of Arya who was a kid back then is going to scar her, he chose the non-lethal way. He teaches swordplay to protect and not to kill, and also the way in which Arya would do when she becomes a good swordsman in the future, but I guess not.
I think Syrio's quote : "The First Sword of Braavos does not run" only applied when he was actively protecting Arya from Trant. Once Arya was on her own and escaping, Syrio could quite well have defeated/disarmed Trant and then made his own escape. As for Syrio being H'ghar, he might be able to alter his face but how would he grow the extra two feet in height?
I've got at least 5 area videos on the pipeline. Maybe 8. But in spacing them out so people3 don't get bored of arya. And also because the are a few that I want to do my very best on. So that's why I took a break from arya to do this one, and the next two that will be finished soon But 3 GoT videos from now will be another arya video that I'm keen on. I hope you and others will like it :))
Forgive me bro, but I must ask; What is your day job? You are absolutely brilliant at this! The way you relay the story is in itself, a story. I believe you have a serious gift with the way you lay things out in a narrative manner. It's like you instinctively know that perfect pacing, how much to divulge at every turn. Effortlessly interesting to hold the audience's attention.
Believe it or not, I spend about 80-100 hours a week, every week, on research, scriting, rescriting lol, audio, and vidro. So this is my day job. Some of my family calls it an expensive hobby since I'd be making more if I rejoined the work force. But in my eyes, I'm in the work force, working almost twice as much as I uses to before I quit. And in theory, the sky is the limit :)) Thank you BTW :))
Lol. Nah. I'd like to believe that, putting aside highs and lows, the quality of my vids gets better overy time tho And I'll keep trying to improve. :)) Thank you for the kind words and motivation!
Ah, but then you have the Hound telling Arya that Trant was a shit swordsman. If that's true... how is it possible a ham fisted lout like Trant could best Syrio?
he proved his worth by cutting syrio's sword in two ASOIAF/GoT has many unreliable narrators that line from Sandor reflects two of his biases - he hates knights (SER Meryn) - he hates cruel men who beat/kill innocent men/women/children So Meryn is almost the exact image of someone Sandor hates and at the end of that convo, he says "Your friend's dead and Meryn Trant's not 'cause Trant had armor and a big fucking sword."
Lol I'm not sure what you mean. But trust me, if you re-read this stuff as many times as I repeatedly do, youd see the same stuff and more Bc I'm a bozo. A relentless bozo who loves asoiaf :)
Bozolina sounds a lot cuter than bozo :)) And I'm with ya on reread. Long after the show ends, even if wow is never released, I'll reread and reaudiobook these 5 bc I love the ride :))
i used to be very fond of this idea, because i dig theories that interpret prophecies as metaphors. dany being azor ahai, drogo being nissa nissa, and drogon (who was, in theory, given life through drogo's death) as lightbringer but my main issue is that the Red Faith in volantis believes dany to be Azor Ahai, leading me to believe she is their Red Herring also, I don't see the end being as simple as killing the night king. so Drogon won't be the final blow. (just a guess, but i feel pretty good about my end game prediction, involving Samwise Gamgee, i mean Samwell Tarly)
@@bridge4 I think that Jon Snow will become the new Night King, to keep the balance. And little Sam will take all the available Frey girls north of the wall (or what used to be the wall) and replace Craster. Either that, or Bran is the Night King and gets trapped warging into that person just before the children of the forest do their thing.
This might be nothing but there is a music cue right before she leaves which is the music theme of the faceless men. This could just be and indication of the start of her journey in that life or a music clue with more meaning
Do you think they will ever tell us why Jaqen was at the capital? Was he there to kill someone or receive orders to kill someone. Was Jaqen using Arya for information? That seems to be the faceless men first step in completing an assassination. I am thinking in season 8 that Sam might have a hit on his head for taking Hearts Vain. Little Sam might actually write the book. Sams mother calls little Sam a scholar. Sorry, but death don't just come for the wicket. This will suck if Sam dies. Great Videos
and this is why I love your channel despite only finding it recently (past few months)! I'm still playing catchup but after well over a dozen of your analogy videos I can't stop! Your logic and reasoning behind everything makes an amazing case, and is hard to argue since you pay so much precision to detail as well as canon lore. Keep doing what you're doing and if you got a paypal I don't mind donating a few $ here and there the help ya!

Going to make this and two other videos public before the Second and Third Clue videos that Arya Stark of Winterfell will Kill the Mountain in Game of Thrones Season 8 (since I've spent over 100+ already researching, scripting, editing those videos, and this is historically the worst week to upload videos). I'm pumped though for those two videos. More solid evidence to that theory =))

bridge4 Love your vids Kev..
Plausible?
In the canon, it's more believable. He's smashing their faces with it. And shattering their kneecaps and what not

Arya should just ask Bran to see what happened to Syrio
Lol why hasn't she
She forgot lol
@@drakkn52 "kinda forgot", you meant?
@@igorchistyakov8876 lmaoooooo exactly 😂😂😂😂
Bran: "He is still alive."
Syrio to Arya: " There is only one god, and his name is Death".
Jaqen H'ghar to Arya: " There's only one God (Death) and the girl knows his name"
That is a good clue
They are both from Bravos.
Sort of. Jaqen, or at least the jaqeb persona, is fromy lorath
So these only explains that they have the same view.
Could also mean syrio might also have been a part of faceless man and then left like arya.
Or just in general they share the same opinion.
Which is why the the faceless man showed interest in arya as did syrio.
But how does Jaqen know that Arya knows who the God is?
Also I don’t recall seeing syrio’s head on a pike, which Joffrey surely would have displayed due to his hate of Arya.
good point. i've never thought of this.
If anybody thought the 'dance teacher' was important enough to even mention to the king....
All great points. Thanks for sharing!
He was not a Stark so they would not put his head on pike.
you really think its only starks on those spikes? they would spike anyone worth spiking
and such a renowned fighter that fought against them and saved a stark would totally be spiked/
Source: dude trust me

Fookin awesome!
"Mr Yerolemou, you still haven't paid for your room..."
"My name is Syrio Forel, and you will be speaking to me with more respect!"
"Mr Yerolemou, please..."
*takes out reception with complimentary toothbrush*
Lol
Do you realize that there is a big probability that he lives if he couldnt tell you
There is another clue as to the fate of Syrio Forel.
We have to take Sandors wording wit a grain of salt since sandor has a specific hatred towards the concept of knights, mainly because of his brother, but also because of knights like trant, who beat little girls
In the books, Jaime refers to trant as okay.
That is a valid point. At least the viewers know that it isn't useless. Arya is legit scary now.
And one thing I was never clear on was if Ned was secretly getting Arya training and "dancing instructor" was their code word. I don't remember anyone calling Syrio anything other than that or mentioning him training Arya in swordsmanship.
Except that when the sound occurs Arya looks behind herself, not up the stairs.
Exactly what I was going to comment.
Maybe she heard the sound, got scared and wanted to go back. But then she realized she couldn't and had to make her choice forward.
First sword of bravos does not run, but he walks away like a badass after having knocked out his enemies.
Lol. Touché
I'm picturing that and it'd be sick!
Yeah, Syrio messed them boys up with a wooden sword, he would’ve made Trant his bitch, humiliated him and won the little duel, and bounced out.
Keep in mind the hound hated knights, especially knights like trant. So his view is going to be skewed unfavorably
Or I should say, it could be skewed unfavorably
What I never understood is why he didn't just lean over and pick up one of the swords the other guards that he killed dropped.
The faceless god would not want Jaqen to take lives unless he was told to do so
Perhaps because he didn't need to....
if he survived it was with one of those swords and maybe a helmet or a shield if there was any near. really, he could have just outsmarted Trant, maybe lure him into tight quarters.
Thought that too.
lol.. GRRM must be laughing himself at all these "deep dive" analysis videos while eating a stack of pancakes with a golden fork thinking "Damn.. I should have thought of that when writing this crap!"
hes like George Lucas write the important details let fans write the rest.
@@zakh-g4893 agree.. lucas is a hack!
The last scene of GoT is going to be Arya going to some random dock to hire a boat to see what's west of Westeros, and then Syrio will turn around and say, "Now we will begin the dance- the water dance".
Ha. I'll come back here and applaud ya if you're right :))
David Graves Yes please!!!
Lol, that would be pretty sweet.
David Graves one of the best ending sequences if applied.
That would be excellent 👍🏼
From a story telling perspective, this is probably an answer best never solved. Neither one would be as satisfying as the mystery.
I feel ya, Brock. Grrm is probably on the same page as u
I love how there's just enough information to speculate though, one of the best assets of the story. It breathes immortality into the story, as our dialogue will continue even after the story concludes.
man, you are a poet!! i love this wording --> "It breathes immortality into the story"
thats sick!
I went to the GOT exhibit at SXSW a few years ago and they had an "In Memoriam" video wall where they showed a photo of everyone who had died at that point; even the most insignificant characters. Syrio was not in the memoriam.
An In Memoriam wall for GOT character that died... That's hilarious.
"The first sword of Bravos didn't have a sword!?" - The Hound
He actually says, “The greatest swordsman who ever lived didn’t have a sword?”
But the sound before the sword falls is the sound of a blunt object being hit against something, which could very well have been the wooden sword against the knights head, knocking him out and making him drop his sword. Syrio didnt kill anyone during the attack, he only incapacitated them, who is to say he didnt with Trant as well, it sounds like he did,
In the books, he kills them
"by the time arya reached the back door, five men were dead or dying"
Trant is not the type to admit he was defeated either by an unarmored man with a broken wooden stick. He would keep that quiet as long as possible being a knight and Kingsguard.
bridge4 You left out the word "down" it's "down, dead, or dying".
As fr as why did he help arya, I'd say just friendship, starting with him noticing her pretending to be a boy,and then her saving his life :))
But for the first time ever,I'm open to the idea of him surviving as jaqen bc if all the clues in the boOKs
Ita annjoying that i dont have an opinion one way or the other now tho lol
It could be many things, Jaqen could have been in Kings Landing finding out secrets surrounding dragons before heading to Old Town but he got caught snooping and thrown in the cells.
What do we say to death?
"Are you free tomorrow, or the day after? My schedule is very hectic today"
Where is Billy and Mandy?
Not Today
"Not the day before tomorrow or after yesterday."
"Tomorrow please."
I bet Syrio neither died nor ran. He walked away from that battle ;)
I think that's the only thing you can conclude from what happened in this scene (well at least in my opinion). 😊👍
But the shadows resonate with me as a bigger sign than her look back, which may have just been related to something a lot of characters face in the books (Jon and dany for sure, maybe others) " if I look back I am lost"
But if we include the canon, then that spot was out past the kitchen.
Hell, even when they DO show someone die, they still can come back. Beric (x6) and Jon and Lady Stoneheart. "It's never too late to come back."
Great line! Figurative deaths > the real ones :))
But he WAS the First Sword of Braavos for nine years, not now (at the time of the fight). Believe what your ears hear.
Hehe 4:20
Great food for thought. I think he's dead :(
bridge4 I know, but still, I have hope
Youre not alone. Alpt of hardcpre fans are with ya. So keep the hope!!:))
I agree, Trant would've never thrown him in the dungeons unless he was commanded to and under the circumstances, there is no reason anyone would.
Selmy doing that gives them even more reason to fire him the episode after.
I know doctors with less thorough notes. Damn.
Lol. But doctors hand writing is more Legible then mine own. Which basically means, I can never understand anything I write when I do it with pen and paper, like I've been doing today for a non game of thrones project. Ugh. I never learn lol
bridge4 Doctor's are known for horrible handwriting tho, so you fit right in 😝
Lol yeh, I was tryna say mine is worse than people who are stereotyped as having bad handwriting :))
Syria does not kill the other guards because he has a wooden sword. He just hits them hard enough to knock them out. The metal sound was probably Meryn’s sword falling with him after getting knocked out. After that Syrio most likely leaves them alive and runs away which is why Meryn is still alive.
He literally just explained to you why that didn’t happen. 🙄🙄🙄
Nice catch on that metallic sound. I refuse to believe Meryn Trant defeated Syrio. Like you, I'm not 100% sold that Syrio is still alive but I hope he is.
Based on what Syrio did to the 4 guards at once,, Trant's not in Syrio's league. Something's fishy :) #SyrioLives
I always think of The Hound when i see meryn trant
"any boy with a sword can beat 3 meryn trants"
Syrio's first and only lesson to her is to out-think not out-fight your enemies. He doesn't pick up a sword because he wants them to under estimate him.
Monsters becoming old friends could also be foreshadowing of her friendship with the Hound.
That among many other examples. But good one! I dig it :))
I had seriously expected him to appear in season 8...
But considering how disspointing the final season was, I'm glad he didn't.
"They seemed almost like old friends" foreshadowing to Arya having a relationship with the dragons in the future.
Might I add that your voice is incredibly soothing! I read the first book recently and remembered this chapter, excellent analysis my friend.
Thanks, suzel
This is my favourite video of yours so far. Great stuff man. Cheers.
thanks, Christopher. i was nervous about this one, so its definitely a relief that a few of you enjoyed it. thanks again =))
I want to believe he's still alive. So badly. He's one of my favorite characters even after all these seasons and only 20 or 30 minutes of screen time
I know right? Speaks volumes to both grrms writing, and miltos' performance :))
There are a lot of suspicious lines in the books connecting them, but I'm not sold still. I'm with ya
I’m pretty sure he’s dead. But, he was one of my favourite characters in the first season. I’ve learned to not become so attached to characters in GoT since then.
Mandy J and Im sure that has served you well
theonetheycall Paul The Red Wedding still hit me pretty hard. But, since then, I’ve definitely learned my lesson.
As much as I love Syrio, I do not want to see him alive. I kinda do, but not really, because that would take away the sacrifice he made to save this girl he barely knew. Besides, the things we love and lose are what gives value to what we have, just like how our own inevitable deaths give meaning to our lives.
i couldn't agree more with ya. exactly how i feel =))
Well it would be awsome if he was jaghar cue it makes a lot of sens
(Sp?)
The broken wooden sword matched the sword of the giant statue entering Bravos.
Thanks, Matthew :))
She may have looked back because of the sword sound upstairs, and her first instinct was to turn around. Then she realized that's a bad idea, and there's a third option: down into the darkness
"The greatest swordsman to ever live didn't have a sword?!" --Sandor
It would be so cool if he and Jaquen are one in the same ♥
VonDa in Wonderland Im opposed to that arguement as Jaquen and Sirio fight completely different ways and Sirio was the first sword of bravos whereas Jaquen was this creepy dude collecting faces.
Stephen Holyoake that's what the Faceless Men want you to think
@@workindad BUT if Syrio was a face he collected prior, then he would BECOME Syrio and behave exactly as Syrio did. I would imagine that jaqen knows a great many fighting styles.
Thank you so much for the shoutout Kev. I really appreciate it. Absolutely loved this theory video of yours. I never knew about this sound. Arya was extremely brave and smart, adore this chapter!
=)) for sure. cool chapter. AGOT, Arya IV iirc (if i've forgotten just a few days, then shame on me lol)
By just using my head, I think it's a little unlikely that Arya would just so happen to run into another bravosi who also just so happens to be a member of the bravosi death cult. If they were one and the same it would make more sense and fit better imo
Two braavosi? Jaqen is from lorath. At least, his face is. The house of black in wHite is in braavos tho, I can see what you're saying
yeah i just associated Jaqen with the house of black and white which is in Bravos then Syrio with ofc Bravos because he's a sword of Bravos.
True true. I hear ya. And yeh, it's very fishy. It seems like it might be true. But there are problems with it too,so I just can't commit
I could definitely be wrong tho :))
Found you today and you are fantastic. Emergency Awesome was my go to for Thrones you got him beat. The seriousness in your voice through a wide range of lore is perfect for
The GoT fan who wants to get lost. Thank you very very much.
Loved Syrio...Hope to see him again hopefully!
Your awesome videos are the only thing helping in the wait for the final season, very well done videos.
Keep up the great work my dude
thanks, Seif =))
All I need is a decade on a deserted island and I too will have the capacity it fine line every nuance in the books.
How are you able to shut out the world enough to delve so deeply into the story (show and/or books) and prepare such thought-provoking content for my simple mind? I hardly make it through a video without some demand on my time, energy or attention.
Thank you again for sharing your interest with me.
lol. well i spend about 80 hours a week on this stuff. sometimes more. and as you know, i rarely get even 3 videos done a week. so time is key. but like you said, it's about finding time
i quit my job to do this. so i have my "work time." and on top of that, im a lone wolf. i have only seen my mother once in the last two years, and hung out with my sister and brother-in-law one time in the last two years.
and i don't have social media. i deleted facebook a long time ago. plus i ignore text messages. PMs weird me out for some reason. so im very disconnected from the world unless im face to face with someone, which is not very often since im grinding to get to a point where i can actualyl spend time with my family =))
hopefully by the end of this year =))
bridge4 Dude, we all appreciate the enormous sacrefices that you've made and energy you've put into this.
I gain a lot of insight from your videos
... wait.....is it insight if the concepts are yours? Nevermind. Have a great weekend.
Listen to Barry.
I would if I could. But i spent most of my time as a TH-camr earnong less than my bills each month. I'm finally covering my bills, and I'm hopeful. But I need to grind for a few more months at the least before I feel comfortable enough to schedule intentional off days. For now, I only take off a half day or full day when my body is just completely zapped of energy lol
Don't worry tho. It's motivation. I'm gonna get there. And at the latest, I'm taking my mom to Kristen Chenoweth in a couple months. Hopefully something sooner though :))
Loved the casual courtyard edit. Lol. Arya's plight is so insane. Long live Syrio Forel
He’s still alive in my heart. Like most GOT characters.
=))
( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)
Who else is in your heart?
Staph
Never
NAAAAAAAME
Great analysis, thanks for making this video! That's why I like to watch each episode more than once.
Thanks :))
Monsters becoming friends: dude, the Hound. I thought that was the strongest parallel there. Especially cause it directly related to arya
1:38 that passage says he is the best fighter, the faster stronger thing is just about the reason he was the best fighter, not saying he isn’t.
I know what happened to Syrio... he is Liverpool's leading scorer
Mo?
Have just discovered your channel today. Absolutely fantastic work, so thorough. It's clear how much time and effort goes into these videos. Totally loving them, thank you!!!
Thanks, Andrea :))
One issue I have is that he assumed he would lose, or he wouldn't have sent a little girl off by herself in a situation where the girl gets caught 99 times out of a hundred :-/
Im finally open to the idea that he's alive tho.
Love QOT.🌹 😊
you're too nice, m'Lady. there are actually going to be a lot of mean/trolling responses in the short-term. i had spent countless hours blocking them over the last year
but i recently unblocked everyone. and you're part of the reason m'Lady lol. so i dont want spoilers. and last year, people spoiled viserion and LF for me. even worse than reading comments with spoilers, was when i read a spoiler comment and someone ELSE, who didnt want spoilers, was responding to the mean person saying "WTF!?!"
even though it wasnt my fault, it made me feel terrible
so i've spend more hours than you'd believe in 2018, going to a few channels that i know do spoilers. id open their videos, pauyse them so as not to hear anything, and then mass block every single person reading the comments. many of those people were my friends im sure. im guessing you may have been one of them, because i havent seen you comment for awhile. maybe its just a coincidence tho
and to be clear, i would never have blocked you intentionally. i love you!! =)) but it's a grinding process to just click, clicl click yadda yada. like a zombie. doing 500 people takes awhile. and i'd usually be listening and half/watching news or another show while doing it. so i periodically would go to a few peoples channels, like yourself, Mel of Winterfell, and double check to see if you had been blocked in one of those mass blocking sessions
last week, i decided it's not worth it. im unknowingly blocking too many people that i look at as friends. so i unblocked everyone. and if i ever start seeing spoilers, im just going to disable comments for all videos. so thats the new plan
but in the short-term, im going to have to deal with the sad, angry, and trolling people until i reblock all of them :-/
so beware. this community has become dark and full of terrors again! lol
bridge4 Kev, thanks for your kind comments.
Wow! This was excellent! I can’t wait for season 8, but more than that, I can’t wait for the next book!
Hear, hear!! I'm with ya. WoW is going to be siiiiick! :))
Lovely weather we are having in my neck of Jersey. And great video as always
it's lovely... as in WAY TOO HOT!! lol :-P
Wow I miss the early seasons. Seeing the text next to the footage you can see what a great job they did adapting the books.
For sure :))
I say cersei will be attacked bt white walkers...or daenerys, and she will hide in the dungeons where arya will find her and kill her this way going more and more into darkness
Kev is great at seeing the truth that most of us miss when we watched. Syrio would be proud.
When I speak off the cuff,I sound insane and cringeworthy
Occasionally I get amped up even when read scripts tho. Like if im talking about a fight or fighters. But most of the time, I probably seem so sad and somber, bc this story is so tragic :-O
Beautifully tragic tho :)
bridge4 I have a different take on it.
I never understood how Sirio could’ve lost. He always said to the god of death “not today” and yet the first time we see him fight; he dies.
Lol
I would love to see a Syrio/Arya reunion in Season 8.
videos like yours are the only thing that keeps me going till winds of winter...good looking bridge! (Y)
Thanks :))
just looked though you're comments. you reply to everyone! kudos :)
Syrio was a perfect fighter yes but looking at the fact that he didnt had the real sword at the moments plus many soldiers that came along as well as telling Arya to run rises an eye brow,he could have came to look for her if he was alive for heavens sake!
I've been waiting for this one!!!!!
Let's not mention it ever again."
EDIT: I do think this is a great video and sound logic, even though I believe there's room for syrio to be alive. Nice work!
You know why Trant won? " He had big fuckin armor and a big fookin sword"
Trant may have had a big sword, but Syrio knew the art of fighting and defeating opponents by "seeing" their weakness.
But I think it causes a lot of problems of true
So I lean towards syrio.
What we do know is that Syrio Forel is not a "viewpoint character."
What we need is an expert opinion; the Hound: "Meryn Trant? The greatest swordsman who ever lived, killed by Meryn fucking Trant? [...] Any boy whore with a sword could beat three Meryn Trants. [...] Your friend's dead, and Meryn Trant's not, 'cause Trant had armor. And a big fucking sword."
Hmmm, that seems like a vote for dead, but it's not a resounding vote. One thing to remember is that Arya left the Hound for dead but did not make sure of it. See how that turned out? Let's try again.
Bronn: "Careful now! We don't want to get blood all over your pretty white cloak"
Meryn Trant faced off against Syrio Forel, one-on-one, standing there at the end with his broken wooden sword, in some ways like the statue guarding the entrance to Bravos.
Solid post. Great closing remark!
Another great video, thanks!!!
Thanks :))
I just noticed his resemblance to the BRAVOS soldier with the broken sword.
apologies, im not following. my bad. which two people are you referring to?
bridge4 I believe Syrio and the Titan protecting Bravos. I forget the name of it but Arya passes under it when she heads out to find Jaquen. But I'm not entirely sure if that's what he meant...
"Titan of braavos" :))
I think Syrio was the Faceless Man. He began Arya's training, disappearing to begin the next phase of training when Arya is ready.
I think that shadow upstairs belongs to a crew member :D
M C XD 😂
Another great video my dude
Syrio beat up 4 guys with a wooden sword. So there were 4 weapons lying around yet he chose to continue fighting with his wooden sword....why would he do that?
If he bent down, meryn was right there to slice him maybe
bridge4 he couldv picked it up long before trant came. It would be logical to take the weapon from the first guy he knocked out
Me thinks that resorting to violence in front of Arya who was a kid back then is going to scar her, he chose the non-lethal way. He teaches swordplay to protect and not to kill, and also the way in which Arya would do when she becomes a good swordsman in the future, but I guess not.
I really wish they brought him back for something, would've been a potentially great plot point.
Great videos brother. One of My favorite youtubers, keep them coming...
thanks, Kevin! =))
I love Arya and I love this video! More more more Arya please.
I've got at least 5 area videos on the pipeline. Maybe 8. But in spacing them out so people3 don't get bored of arya. And also because the are a few that I want to do my very best on. So that's why I took a break from arya to do this one, and the next two that will be finished soon
But 3 GoT videos from now will be another arya video that I'm keen on. I hope you and others will like it :))
Absolutely and I’m looking forward to them. Keep up the great work bro!
Excellent break down sir. U jus exposed me to tru seeing
True seeing. That...is the heart of swordplay :))
And in theory, the sky is the limit :))
Thank you BTW :))
bridge4 Bro I have absolutely no problem believing that at all. You're videos are perfect.
Lol. Nah. I'd like to believe that, putting aside highs and lows, the quality of my vids gets better overy time tho
And I'll keep trying to improve. :))
Thank you for the kind words and motivation!
I love your videos! Your arguments are always well-thought out and entertaining. Your passion shows in your work. Keep up the great job!
Thanks, Wonderful Wanda :))
Thanks for the content man. Subbed and liked.
Ah, but then you have the Hound telling Arya that Trant was a shit swordsman. If that's true... how is it possible a ham fisted lout like Trant could best Syrio?
he proved his worth by cutting syrio's sword in two
ASOIAF/GoT has many unreliable narrators
that line from Sandor reflects two of his biases
- he hates knights (SER Meryn)
- he hates cruel men who beat/kill innocent men/women/children
So Meryn is almost the exact image of someone Sandor hates
and at the end of that convo, he says "Your friend's dead and Meryn Trant's not 'cause Trant had armor and a big fucking sword."
You deserve a sub, friend
Thanks, jostin! :))
How does your brain even work like this! Whatever your doing differently from me I need to know! Awesome video!!
Lol I'm not sure what you mean. But trust me, if you re-read this stuff as many times as I repeatedly do, youd see the same stuff and more
Bc I'm a bozo. A relentless bozo who loves asoiaf :)
Thank you tho!
bridge4 Well we thank you for being a bozo, cuz this video is epic! Such great depth! 🔥
Bozolina sounds a lot cuter than bozo :))
And I'm with ya on reread. Long after the show ends, even if wow is never released, I'll reread and reaudiobook these 5 bc I love the ride :))
And bc my memory is terrible. The silver lining of a bad memory is getting to enjoy books and movies multiple times :-D
Sound of sword falling was accompanied by the sound of a shield, neither fighter had shields.
that's a good catch. thanks for sharing!
Syrio can't be Jaqen H'ghar because not even Jaqen H'ghar was Jaqen H'ghar. Hell, Arya might not even be Arya anymore (at-least not the original)
duuuuude i loved ur video thanks
Thanks alejandro!
I have a theory. What if Drogon is lightbringer. Thats all i got. Lol
i used to be very fond of this idea, because i dig theories that interpret prophecies as metaphors.
dany being azor ahai, drogo being nissa nissa, and drogon (who was, in theory, given life through drogo's death) as lightbringer
but my main issue is that the Red Faith in volantis believes dany to be Azor Ahai, leading me to believe she is their Red Herring
also, I don't see the end being as simple as killing the night king. so Drogon won't be the final blow. (just a guess, but i feel pretty good about my end game prediction, involving Samwise Gamgee, i mean Samwell Tarly)
Pretty compelling man 😂
@@bridge4 I think that Jon Snow will become the new Night King, to keep the balance.
You think randyl put out the hit?
Nah. Tarly would've done it himself. There just wasn't time, with the war & all.
and this is why I love your channel despite only finding it recently (past few months)!
I'm so in love with your voice ! lol I can't wait, I can not anymore lol I want to know the end !!!!!
bruno Cartan sadly I think the end will be very predictable
