The second I saw that you were crafting something from a walnut shell it sparked a memory. When my sister and I were teenagers many years ago, I gave her a tiny drawstring bag I had made with a walnut shell inside. Inside the walnut shell was a tiny gift, perhaps a pair of earrings or something. I don't recall, but the following year she gave the drawstring bag and the walnut shell with a tiny gift inside back to me. We continued that exchange for several years, probably until I moved out of the house or the walnut shell was lost in moving. Neither one of us remembers what gift was inside the shell each year, but I think the challenge was to find something small enough to fit. It may have been just a few m&m's or a tiny figurine but I think the real gift was the bag and shell because it was unique and thoughtful and handmade and I remember it so clearly.
@@lianapalumbo8457 I was thinking the same thing. My daughter is 30 with a family of her own. She is sentimental like me, carries on traditions and has started some of her own. I think I will start this year!
When I was a child I make my mother a small crip in a walnut out of clay…. It exists till now and every Christmas she decorated her on the sideboard. It is so good to see your video and my heart is full of emotion…thanks for sharing
Nawww...I love your little walnut cradle bed n dolly...you did a great job on the legs n arms...so much cute overload with your breakfast goodies... adorable 🥰💞
The full English breakfast made me hungry! And the tiny teddy made me happy. I love the walnut doll bed craft! I had walnut shells in my doll house and used them to hold all sorts of things.
It's funny how I often find halves of walnut shells and there isn't a tree anywhere near by. This walnut cot looks so good, it's a really clever idea. See you tomorrow
So incredible. I love the new little boy and the mini English Breakfast was incredible. It looks so real. I listened to you saying you hope to soon give us and address we can send goodies to. I am so excited to send gifts to you all. Perhaps even a slew of different sized needles. I Love Your So Much. Watching in Oklahoma, Barb
My grandmother and I used to make walnut shell cradles for our scrap craft dolls house...Yours brings back such pleasant memories...One that survived is hanging on my Christmas tree.
This took me right back in time, to when my mum and i made little dolls out of wool and beds out of walnut shells. I must have been about 7 or 8 at the time. Lovely memories. ♥ Your dolls bed with baby was so very cute. I loved the finished items. Isn't the room looking so lovely dressed for Christmas. A pleasure to watch you creating. Thanks. Xxx
6:14pm, California. That was such a treat! I love the baby and the cradle. And both of you!❤ When I was very young my father made 3-masted sailing ships from walnuts, toothpicks, string and cloth. Each one had full rigging and a flag. He made the last one for my daughter 31 years ago. Aren’t walnut shells inspirational? ⚓️👶🏻🛌
The stand you put the cradle on is what was left of a gas mantle for old fashioned gas lights. We had those in our caravan when I was young. They had a little white bag thing of fine material that glowed and they popped when you lit them. If you hit the white bit on anything it just disintigrated into a powder.😊
Oh little walnut baby is adorable! I am amazed that you both can work so tiny... Once again, the full tiny breakfast from Fairy Acorn made me giggle like a child. 🥰
I have to chuckle… every day you say tomorrow might be the piano. 😉 (Just teasing you two - always delighted with whatever you do.) OMG, the teeny food!
Hello lovely ladies, thank you for responding to my questions so promptly. You were right fleur nuts do have a weak point , but I can't remember if it's the diameter or the circumference. I prise my walnuts open with a nail file . You made me laugh Kate with your improvised tool , I do the same and know other people who do the same . I use an orange stick / cuticle hoof as a mini tapper ha ha. I have fun memories of operation . The walnut baby cradle is so cute and adorable . I use to make fairy homes as a little girl filled with leaves. I wouldnt have thought of making a crib out of a walnut, although I have known of something on a larger scale with coconut shells and smaller nuts for a stand peanuts / monkey nuts ? . The sort you can feed the birds with any how and trimmed with a bit of broderie anglaise. Then painted like you can paint or varnish the walnuts , I prefer them unpainted though. Stay safe ladies , I think I might have to start my comments busy ladies lol take care until the next video xxx
Thank you, Kate and Fleur for making these lovely videos. They are so sweet and enjoyable. The comments section is equally enjoyable with the memories you stir in your viewers. What a great little community this channel has created. ❤
Wow so enjoy watching you put things together, so pleased the baby has moveable arms and legs, you work so well together and I adore the plates of full English, , love the the crib.
You can make strawberry ornaments out of whole walnuts by painting them strawberry red then poking a hole in the top and glueing on a ribbon then putting little black seeds or tiny pearls in the dents in the shells. They are actually very pretty on a tree especially with the tiny pearls. And yes ‘operation’ has been played in the USA for many many years. Love your tiny babies in the shells. Love from the USA Donna/MIchigan
The walnut shell cot and the baby are very cute and look perfect in the room. Fairy Acorn has done amazing on the cooked breakfast, it's so realistic! 😀💖x
The little baby was so neat in the walnut shell. I so enjoy watching the two of you making all the neat doll houses. It makes me want to try doing something like that with whatever I find. Thanks for such interesting videos. ❤️
Ikve always loved mouse houses and teeny things in walnut shells or matchboxes and your little stick baby is adorable in its makeshift walnut crib! I especially love that you and your mother are crafting together and making memories. It reminds me of my mother and my daughter. I just really love this sweet, wholesome content. It really warms my heart and reminds me of my own mother sewing our outfits for us when we were kids, and also reminds me of the little crafts my daughter would make and give me. Especially the little heart shapes in the walnut shells- that has always been a thing with us. Whenever we would see a rock or twig or other object shaped as a heart, we would gift it to each other. I still have a grocery twist-tie that my daughter fashioned into a little heart. I stilll have it somewhere and cherish it. ❤Lots of love to you both, and thank you again for these beautiful little videos. PS, I’m loving Fairy Acorn’s advent gifts, so thank you for also sharing those with us! ❤❤❤❤
If you soak the whole walnuts in hot water for about 45 minutes they crack neater and easier. Took me many years to learn that trick 😆. As always, loved the visit and the crafting was lovely 😍 😊
Oh, the Lil’ Legs & Arms are perfectly cute. Such a precious creation. ☺️. I’d love to hear any history on the tiny babies. Oh My Gahahad the fried eggs & bacon & beans are incredible. 😍✨🥳Janet
The breakfast needs some tomatoes, and toast. Love the idea with the walnuts. A few weeks ago, I used acorn caps and pistachio shells to create little bowls for tiny gemstones for my 24th scale witch's cottage.
Thank you for this wonderful video. I enjoy watching and listening to you as you make such awesome things. I am amazed by the little gifts you have been given. The giver has so much talent. I have to admit that i laughed out loud when you were trying to get the walnuts open. Looking forward to seeing tomorrow's video.
You are certainly making little treasures and another lovely additiuon to the Christmas room. Well done. That bit of pink and brown pleated ribbon I sent you will make a lovely bonnet for one of the dolls. Glad you liked the full english. I did'nt do black pudding cos I don't like it!!!!❤❤🌲🌲🌲
