If you run a wire up through each of her arms, they will look more proportional, as you position her arms differently. I like Diane Kistell's pet name selection. Pudding for your sleepy black cat, marmalade for the other and Piper for the bird. Richard's gift of the K&C Ginger Beer was super Cool, as well as the pretty painting he sent previously. Enjoyed!
When scratching doll limbs it is easier and you get a better fix to the limb if you sew an open ended tube for the arm or leg. Turn it inside out and place limb inside. Wrap and knot strong thread at recessed part. Pull fabric right way round and then stuff it before sewing to body. Also, if you fold your patterns in half they will be symmetrical and you won't end up with a winky body. Love both your channels and family. Such lovely people.💖
I agree with your detailing, but half the charm of their dolls is that they are asymmetrical and a little winky or wonky. Also, for folk just starting out, they are the simplest way to make a body. I would have suggested drawing on paper first, then using that as a paper pattern, but the ladies made it super simple instead 😊

I love love miniatures! I have several ( 4 ) type ( for old newspapers ) wooden boxes that I keep mine in! I started collecting when I was a child and am now 73 !
Me too! When I started collecting for my then 7 yo daughter, we found an old wooden type-setting tray at a flea market in New Hampshire USA. Filling each little partition was the perfect way to display her collection of bits n’ bobs. She still has it & she will turn 50 yo this year & I will turn 70… we hung it on her bedroom wall…

My idea would be for you to use the metal neck of toothpaste tubes…you findvthem all the time and I was thinking it would be easy to glue a head on one of those. Anyway…just wanted to share. My husband talks of a black cat named Sooty. He said the cat would let dogs run up to it and bark in his face, and after a moment Sooty would haul back a paw and smack the dog good 😂 I take it that’s a standard name for black cats in England? I’m from Texas and our black cats inevitably end up being called Stormy. My mother had a bushy ginger puss she called Maggie. I called her Magrat 🤣 The K&C bottle is awesome!!
NELLIE for the Red Cardinal bird. GINGER for the White and ginger cat and. SLIP, for the BLACK CAT, like the clay slip when mending or attaching clay pieces. Soooo! Nellie Lark, Ginger Lark and Slip Lark, they sing and sleep while Allie Gobbie Lark bakes bread. Ever so often Allie will drop crumbs of bread into Nellie's cage, and fill tiny saucers of milk for the kittens. Just imagine the warmth from the oven while the aroma of a loaf of bread cools on top of the stove. What a homey kitchen you have made for the Lark family.
What a delightful video once again! All of your makes are so precious and lovely. I think Ally would have thicker arms because of lifting all those trays and plates of yummy food she would be making! Quite a workout for her, feeding all those hungry family members! This is such a pleasure to watch.

My 27 year old daughter owns a black cat & calls her "Umbra", Latin for the darkest part of a shadow. 😺 As always, I'm enthralled by watching you create all these lovely pieces for your dollhouse & honor the discarded treasures from the past, giving them life anew to be treasured again.
What I love about your videos is that you make the doll making simple and accessible- even to folk who may never have done it before. You’ve broken it down into simple rectangles and pencil freehand drawings, hand sewing with normal sized needles and threads. No machine really necessary . But straw? Very brave! There’s a wee mouse 🐁 in the background rubbing its paws together thinking of the yummy dinner tonight. Using gingham too is brilliant as a beginner you get nice straight lines. Try a half circle too for puffed sleeves. Don’t forget you can make great dolls house dolls from dolly pegs, if you don’t have doll parts. ( felt pen or acrylic paint the hair & face & then seal with clear varnish - even clear nail polish will work!) The cat basket was absolutely inspired, I loved it. I only wish I had a coffee cup as big as Molly Gobbie the Cook. She needs long arms to reach all the implements plus restorative caffeine and to stroke the 🐈⬛. Love, love love your dolls house. I hope you inspire others to do the same and maybe you can have a gallery of them in a year or so? Love as always xxxx

Loved the episode tonight! I just wanted to mention an idea I had about your doll making…I was thinking about the part where you made a neck for your doll.. My idea would be for you to use the metal neck of toothpaste tubes…you findvthem all the time and I was thinking it would be easy to glue a head on one of those.
Anyway…just wanted to share.

Fantastic dollmaking once again ladies! I've gone red again 😂 I'm just glad you both love the bottle. I saw your little pipe stem jars and had a moment of inspiration! The black cat could be sooty, the ginger cat rusty (lots of rust stained treasures) and the bird I'm not sure 🤔 Just rewatched the video as I was painting the first time Inwatched and you two are getting so good at making dolls now and the bird could be called robin after your dump robin!
My husband talks of a black cat named Sooty. He said the cat would let dogs run up to it and bark in his face, and after a moment Sooty would haul back a paw and smack the dog good 😂 I take it that’s a standard name for black cats in England? I’m from Texas and our black cats inevitably end up being called Stormy. My mother had a bushy ginger puss she called Maggie. I called her Magrat 🤣 The K&C bottle is awesome!!

NELLIE for the Red Cardinal bird. GINGER for the White and ginger cat and. SLIP, for the BLACK CAT, like the clay slip when mending or attaching clay pieces. Soooo!
Nellie Lark, Ginger Lark and Slip Lark, they sing and sleep while Allie Gobbie Lark bakes bread. Ever so often Allie will drop crumbs of bread into Nellie's cage, and fill tiny saucers of milk for the kittens. Just imagine the warmth from the oven while the aroma of a loaf of bread cools on top of the stove. What a homey kitchen you have made for the Lark family.
What a delightful video once again! All of your makes are so precious and lovely. I think Ally would have thicker arms because of lifting all those trays and plates of yummy food she would be making! Quite a workout for her, feeding all those hungry family members! This is such a pleasure to watch.
oh, I wish we were neighbours....then we could play together! I have a dollshouse and sometimes makes things for it.....I am 74 years of age, but still play a lot!!!!! looking forward to your next episode.

My 27 year old daughter owns a black cat & calls her "Umbra", Latin for the darkest part of a shadow. 😺 As always, I'm enthralled by watching you create all these lovely pieces for your dollhouse & honor the discarded treasures from the past, giving them life anew to be treasured again.

What I love about your videos is that you make the doll making simple and accessible- even to folk who may never have done it before. You’ve broken it down into simple rectangles and pencil freehand drawings, hand sewing with normal sized needles and threads. No machine really necessary . But straw? Very brave! There’s a wee mouse 🐁 in the background rubbing its paws together thinking of the yummy dinner tonight. Using gingham too is brilliant as a beginner you get nice straight lines. Try a half circle too for puffed sleeves. Don’t forget you can make great dolls house dolls from dolly pegs, if you don’t have doll parts. ( felt pen or acrylic paint the hair & face & then seal with clear varnish - even clear nail polish will work!) The cat basket was absolutely inspired, I loved it. I only wish I had a coffee cup as big as Molly Gobbie the Cook. She needs long arms to reach all the implements plus restorative caffeine and to stroke the 🐈⬛. Love, love love your dolls house. I hope you inspire others to do the same and maybe you can have a gallery of them in a year or so? Love as always xxxx
