- The Triple Eight Project Sandman Tribute Edition is the product of the combination of one idea, an Australian motoring icon, six months of blood, sweat and tears and one V8 Supercar team.
Born out of the Triple Eight Race Engineering stable in Brisbane, Australia, the vehicle is a one-off concept with a twist. With equal parts tribute and racing technology, the Triple Eight Project Sandman Tribute Edition is a two-seater, 700HP beast, with more power, straight-line speed and technology than your standard V8 Supercar.
Taking influence from the pinnacles of modern motorsport, Project Sandman uses an F1-inspired paddle shift gear box and fly by wire throttle system ensuring that the vehicle continues to push the boundaries of Australia's premier motorsports category, V8 Supercars. Project Sandman is capable of reaching speeds of over 300km/h while maintaining the pure thrill and adrenaline rush of a Red Bull Racing Australia V8 Supercar.

Simply outstanding job by RBR. This car is hand fabricated with many countless one off components and to turn out so pristine is a true credit. Considering this race team runs the highest level V8 supercars, runs Dunlop series cars, supplies components for the whole V8SC field and still has the time and motivation to build a dream car such as this.
Is it any wonder you cannot get near these guys on race day.

Dont get me wrong it is a beautiful car and they have done an amazing job on it but i think it would have been better if they had put the original sandman decals on it and the red bull decals smaller. But amazing job

That carbon fiber intake while I'm sure 100% efficient looks like a 5th wheel off of a semi or a tow truck. I wanna see the jewel beneath which is that gorgeous n/a engine. Imagine throwing boost on this combo. Mind blowing one off build and I'm glad they didn't go ballistic with colors and graphics of the original. 70s colors weren't exactly appealing.

Yes looks and siunds great. But it doesn't exactly reflect the origens of the sandman. This fastback design doesn't do any of this any justice. I sure hope Holden listens in and reads what people are trying to tell them.

Besides the fact they actually fabricated the body themselves, it looks like it's based on a ute, not a wagon, hence the small 1/4 windows. Identical to the factory ute with the sandman fibreglass canopy added. So, it's not just a wagon lol.

Well, I think its RBR that made the car not Holden themselves. RBR can make what ever they want. Its their money, time, and interest.

Did you actually watch the video? its not a ute with a canopy, its a one off van based on J.Wincups 2013 vf supercar chassis, clad in composite panels.
