I just got teary-eyed watching this trailer. I grew up with Suikoden. This franchise sorta changed my life and inspired me to write my own stories. I connected so much with many of its characters. So happy to see that Suikoden finally has a spiritual successor.

I came back here today to pay respects to Yoshitaka Murayama. I hope this game turns out to be all the things he could've wanted and more. I will most definitely enjoy one last adventure through his world.

Suikoden 1 & 2 are hands down one of the greatest games of all times. Hoping Eiyuden brings the same energy and turns into a franchise.

SUIKODEN 2 IS THE ONE I LIKE THE MOST OUT OF 1 AND 2, I PLAYED SUIKODEN 5 AND I DIDNT LIKE THE DUELS IN IT AND THERE WAS A PART WHERE I COULDNT FIND ANY SAVE POINTS BEFORE A DIFFICULT DUEL AND I LOST WELL OVER HALF AN HOUR PRIOR TO THE DUELS SO CALLED IT QUITS AFTER THAT. I FELT THERE SHOULD HAVE BEEN A SAVE POINT BEFORE THAT DUEL. BUT SUIKODEN 2 WAS OUTSTANDING IN MANY WAYS. I WILL PLAY THE RE MAKE WHEN IT COMES OUT ON MY PS4, I JUST HOPE THE PRINT WONT BE TOO SMALL FOR MY EYES.

I really wish he could see us enjoying the fruits of him and his team's labor later on in the year. The stories and the idea of gathering many people to accomplish something bigger than themselves, even when a chunk of them were NPCs struck a chord in my heart.
Suikoden 2 still holds up as one of the best rpgs ever made. This looks like the perfect modern take on it. Can't wait to play it.
5:34 - That fuming and jumping animation is very nostalgic. Probably one of the most Suikoden-like animations I can think of.
Also, this comes out like a week after my birthday. That's awesome. I'm really looking forward to it. I'm glad I backed it.

What makes suikoden great is that even back in psx era the characters have unique sprites to imply their reaction even if it is only used once. I hope this uniqueness stays with eiyuden as well.
A proper successor to Suikoden. Hope this is a start of a franchise and hoping for memorable heroes.

I backed this ages ago. I'm so glad it's almost upon us. I love Suikoden 1, 2, and V so much.

It has truly saddened me hearing the news of Yoshitaka Murayama passing. The game played a great role in my childhood together with ff series, I hope he is watching somewhere the success of Eiyuden will have upon its release..
Building this on the octopath engine was the best thing they could’ve done
Suikoden 2 and the series changed my life! I have a feeling this will be my new favorite series and can't wait for a new adventure and all the nostalgia altogether!

Honestly, felt like no time
I pre-ordered. Im disconnected or alienated from modern gaming but a suikoden is an exception. Its not your typical jrpg style game that nukes are shot from a moonbase; like lemonade your imagination can shape whatever out of 100 recruitments. All starlight ofc. but a true hero wins with his favorites
suikoden brings back a lot of memories when the times weren't as complex as a young kid.
Definitely one of my target games for this coming year. Waited for this!

I just recently finished Eiyuden Chronicles Rising. I did everything except beating the final boss on hard mode. Loved everything about this game including the massive amount of side quests. I am really looking forward to this new game.
I finished Rising earlier this year, and yet seeing CJ, Isha and Garoo again made me feel nostalgic!
Yea... A lot of side quest.... But they are all the same. Got kinnda boring fast... Go there, collect X items, bring them back....
The objectives of the sidequests are repetitive, but the dialogues make up for it.
@@Marvey4 Not only that but if the quest giver is a shop owner, completing the quest upgrades their services, and upgrades the look of their store, like in Suikoden.

Day 1 I waited a long time for a Suikoden 6 and the fact the got the old crew doin this the way they want too it’s gonna be incredible I have total faith in this team.

so glad somebody made a game with the thought of suikoden. the ps1 game that i absolutely love more than any other rpg.
Be sure to play the side scroller prequel with Garoo, CJ, and Isha as the main characters. It's much simpler but it got me really excited for this game.

If you guys need anymore suikoden 1 and 2 in your life before this comes out might I suggest listening to Retrograde Amnesia a wonderful podcast where they cover JRPGs. They just finished covering both suikoden 1 and 2.. over 60 episodes about an hour each of their journey through the games.
Suikoden 2 soundtrack was so memorable to me I hope this game doesn't miss with the sound track!

Pretty stoked! I picked up Suikoden 2 on a whim like, 6 years ago and had a blast.
A couple things. I’m glad they found an Australianish VA for Garoo, even if it is a bit heavy. 😂
MINIGAMES BABY! This is so important in games like this where the battle system can start to feel a little repetitive after you establish your “dream team” which leads me to…
I really hope they have equal opportunities to use such a large cast. I really enjoyed messing with the team formats in Sui 2, but it was a chore to go back and level them as my main guy got stronger and stronger. I hope we can keep them leveled or something similar as opposed to swapping out your guys every few hours and grinding.
Lastly, give me a reward for trying out different team mashups! I’ve been waiting for something like the Luca Blight fight again for years now, and have been found wanting!

Eiyuden Chronicle: Rising only go left to right or reverse like that and fast pace combat real time. sequel can roam 360 degree angle and turn base instead.

Definitely a unique art style. I kinda like it. The combos look amazing and there seems like there’s a lot of different features to look forward to. Cant wait to give this one a shot.
