I love this episode so much nostalgia gif so excited at the end on Christmas Day on the sofa with my mam for the new series.
SOOO Excited to see this, it looks awesome. LOVE the glasses he was wearing. I've been watching old Doctor Who episodes, ones that I haven't seen, and I didn't realize how much I missed Matt as The Doctor until now. Can't wait until this comes out
I love this show and i like it because every season different stories different writers and great different characters. I HAVE LAUGH OUT LOUD, CRY, SMILE, GET ANGRY, ETC. hope that the show never ends. it is a good show to watch with family.

the Christmas carol story was the best. This snowman thing... well I love dr. who and can overcome anything... I mean giant angel that all of NY doesn't notice walking around... yeah, I can still love it.

The Doctor's outward persona may change but he is still the Doctor at heart. He is the same man. The old man who first traveled with his granddaughter and her two teachers is still within the young mad man with box we see today.
When I look back at these Matt/Jenna clips, I remember what fun they were together!

Every DOCTOR IS THE DOCTOR! All 11 of them. . Tennant left the role to continue his careers, he knew he couldn't do the role forever and he knew he shouldn't.
True, having Jenna rolling around in a salt shaker, yelling "Eggs, term, in, eight" all day just wouldn't do. Much better out of one. "The Snowmen" was my introduction to her ("Asylum of the Daleks" I would see later) and I have been in love ever since, in all her incarnations.
I think I like the fact that the companion isn't from our time. It will be really interesting because when you have some like Rose, Amy&Rory, etc., they at least have some sense of technology, but for someone from Victorian England...I'm very excited.
she was always going to be the new companion we meet at Christmas. the 1st episode was a surprise and will probably be explained later on how they are connected
Considering how mindblowingly popular the show is, your wishes will most definitely not be realized.
It didn't grow tired. Matter of fact the final season before the hiatus is considering to be one of the strongest seasons of all time. It had ups and downs but it never wore out.
Okay, I wasn't too sure about this episode but the amazing plot twist with Clara/Oswin was brilliant. I can barely get my head around it, and I cannot wait to find out what the story arch is.
He has lived for billions of years, I doubt anyone can out die or out live him.

Actually, it was cancelled in 1989 and resurrected in 2005. In all fairness, the audio adventures continued during those dark times, with many of the same actors, so it never really went away. Paul McGann (the 8th doctor) only appeared in one 1996 TV movie, but he may hold the record for most adventures from the audio programs.
We've hardly seen Oswin and I already know she's brilliant and there are so many videos of her :)
The snowmen are alive! And they certainly aren't jolly, happy souls.
I think the Sontaran in this episode will be my favorite character. That whole race is just fun.
Only Doctor Who can make crappy CGI snowman look absolutely awesome. Gosh I love this show.

I dipped in and out of the series after Matt Smith took over and although I liked the dynamic between him and Karen Gillan it never grasped my interest like this Christmas special. The chemistry between Smith and Jenna-Louise Coleman was wonderful - banterful bickering balanced with touching quiet moments. I will definitely be tuning in for the series.
I think that's a great idea, and could well be what happens. After all Oswin in Asylum of the Daleks had clearly had her memories altered in some way, so it's totally possible that she's a companion who forgot the Doctor. Very good theory!
you do know that when the doctor regenerates his personality changes as well as his physical appearance, it makes perfect sense that different doctors would react differently.
In the angles take Manhattan he added more rules to the use of regeneration energy then he already did, along with not even explaining why they couldn't go back in time to save Amy and Rory properly.
And the power of three had this great build up, with a lot of suspense and mystery, a lot of surprisingly good character development, and then what...oh hey a ship, lets have him wave is Sonic and now everything's better, good job doctor. With a story like that it should have been a 2-parter.

This may be YOUR experience, but I STARTED and was drawn in by Matt Smith and Karen Gillan. They are what made me start watching the Doctor's adventures and have since gone back and devoured as much of the history as I can. We all have our likes and dislikes.
I love how "The snow is feeding off your thoughts" can be a legitimate statement in Doctor Who.
yes i know that and i think with jenna it will be the same thing. they keep meeting in a wrong order, they meet (probably in the christmas episode) for the first time officially, because when she was in the dalek episode, they never really met, they were communicating but never standing in front of each other.
Boy, That Dr. Simeon could give hate lessons to the Daleks. Also, I can't look at him without the song Cold as Ice by Foreigner going through my head. Richard E. Grant really has outdone himself playing that role.

Well they did it with Freema Agyeman. She was first in "army of ghosts" as martha jones' cousin Adeola, and then, as we all know, she turned up in the seasons after, as Martha jones. Maybe it is something like that again?
That is true but Freema and Karen both had small roles in those. Jenna was put into Asylum of the Daleks after she had already been cast as the new companion. Freema and Karen premiered a season before their companion role. Freema's appearance was explained as her playing her cousin Adeola. Karen's Pompeii character lived thousands of years before and had a bunch of face paint on, so their wasn't much explaining there. Jenna was announced as the new companion and then appeared in the first episd

The web says this woman is Clara Owsin and the Oswin we know is called Oswin Oswald. It's the same character in two different timelines.
Haven't watched Doctor Who in ages. I might watch this one just for the snowmen :D

Wouldn't be the first time they did it in such a small gap, actually... Freema Agyeman, the actress who played Martha Jones, was cast in the "Army of Ghosts" episode as a side character, which along with "Doomsday" was the LAST story of the season... and returned as a companion the next season. That's 3 episodes before coming back... SHORTER than what this would be. There was an explanation later, however: Martha mentions the other character Agyeman played to be her cousin.
8 more days. I can't wait.
Probably the best part of the trailer is when she's introducing the Doctor.
Rumour has it that the Doctor realises that he can just break out the sonic salt shaker then saves the day.

Watched it 10 times in 6 days upon release. Being the most unpredictable show I have ever seen. Trying to figure things out before they happen is very fun for me. It requires multiple viewings to. So that's a plus. :p
OMG OMG OMG!!!! I'M A HUGE HUGE HUGE GINORMOUS FAN OF DOCTOR WHO AND I CAN'T WAIT 2 SEE THE NEW EP! IT'S SO THRILLING!
Not to mention Mark Gatiss plays different characters all the time. He;s currently on his third character as well as writing some of the episodes.
This is the most brilliant show on television. It continues to get more brilliant and I would challenge one of its' detractors to have written a successful love letter, let alone a solid piece of fiction it's equal. It's sad when "haters gotta hate" - from politics to pop culture... but I say to Skaro with them, they're walking, talking Daleks and Cybermen - with Facebook profiles and YouRube accounts. God bless Doctor Who!
All of the sudden I am very, very glad I live in an area where it doesn't snow.
They were different characters. It's said many times within the series, even by the 10th doctor himself that when a regeneration happens a whole new person walks away. The thing that remains are the memories of the person, that's all. The Doctor is different after every regeneration, just look back through the past 49 years to see that. Hell, even Nine and Ten had stark contrasts and they had the same writer. I understand that you don't like it, but that doesn't make it wrong.
He may have said that but he never matured he still said "I dont' wanna go" which proved there was no growth at all. And what mistake from the Third DOctor? The Third Doctor accepted his fate "Had to face my fear. It was more important"
My family isn't the hugging type. We'll hug each other at Christmas, Birthdays and other occasions.

I loved the last two, especially A Christmas Carol. Although it was oddly depressing for a Christmas episode. Runaway Bride... how anyone can stand the most obnoxious monster in history is beyond me. I applaud you for making it through. :)
How about this for a possibility. In the minisode Jenny mentioned a meteor coming down to Earth. What if that meteor is Oswin and while she's crash landing on Earth she is daydreaming what travelling with the Doctor would be like. But she can't totally forget hence the ladder at 0:49

It happens to us all mate. Though for me, going back a few years ago now, it was finding out Ace wasn't going to be in the movie.
From what I've read, the Doctor has been strongly affected by the Ponds' departure and producer Caroline Skinner wanted the Doctor's wardrobe to reflect this. Maybe there's more to it, but that's what I've heard so far.
I will never again trust the posters for events where an enticement to go is 'we'll feed you'.
