I love how Peter calls the character "Doctor Who" out of instinct, just like the first generation of fans used to call him back in the 60s and 70s. You can tell he's a true old-school, lifelong fan.
vanta black Not really a double standard. If a fan legitimately gets mad at you for calling the Doctor WHAT THE BBC/SHOW ITSELF HAS CALLED HIM FOR THE LONGEST (classic who Doctors even answered to the name) than they’re just “one of those” fans that pretend to be elitist despite not bothering to read an end credit from classic who. There’s a difference between a double standard and just being plain wrong.
"I'm Peter Capaldi and I'm 'the Doctor'" -- awesome moment for a lifelong fan of the series. He's been my favorite Doctor thus far. Will miss Twelve when he's gone.
I like it when Moffat's looking at Peter Capaldi performing, I can't help thinking "Now that I've characterised my New Doctor, Lets think about who to kill off next :)"
Ever notice whenever they show Neve Mcintosh in these behind the scenes stuff, she's ALWAYS in her Silurian makeup? Never out of it or in the makeup chair? Is Neve Mcintosh actually a Silurian in disguise, and Doctor Who is when she gets to show her true self?
You always see the change from doctor to doctor by never like Capaldi and I can remember sitting on the couch starting season 8 and I was just blown away at how different it was and I loved it dearly.
Just rewatched deep breath. First watch if this I was 12 and I wasn’t into it. Rewatched it now and he’s fantastic honestly rlly great first episode rlly miss this Doctor.
The episode was fantastic! I think its the best first episode to a new series! The only thing that seemed to bother me is that no dinosaur is that big... :l
Im glad there are people here giving this positive reviews before all the closed minded ones come along and say that they dont like the new this and the new that.
Rewatching it while I don’t like the dinosaur CGI I thought Capaldi was fantastic and the script was pretty good. Weird it was Vastra, strax and Jennie’s last episode. Wish we could see them again just so they could get a proper send off.
I didn't really like the 12th doctor until i went back and re watched a few times 11 is still my favorite, but I also really enjoyed 12's run as well, and I was kinda sad when he left :(
Thought like it was ok. Not a bad episode but could have been better. Though I do love how dark it was. The thing with the two face man and the doctor at the end gave me goosebumps. Cant wait to see where this doctor goes.
No really. Looking at the orignal design it looked exactly like his T.V. Costume but no stripes and no patchwork www.google.com/search?q=Colin+Baker+black&espv=2&biw=1366&bih=643&source=lnms&tbm=isch&sa=X&ved=0ahUKEwif3v69rKrOAhUE5WMKHQqLC0cQ_AUIBigB#imgrc=TxPEvNk7_4msHM%3A
Capaldi truly was the best man for the job. He isn't my favorite but I do think he's the best. He had the most passion and I think that's part of what made his Doctor so wonderful. You could tell how much he loved it. Beyond that, he's also an incredibly talented and underrated actor. It's probably one of the best Doctor Who casting decisions. It's a shame they wouldn't get it right the next time the Doctor regenerated. Capaldi was the last REAL Doctor in my mind and I salute him for all his WONDERFUL work. He deserved better than to be pushed out so unceremoniously but in retrospect perhaps it was for the best. I'd hate to see what Chibs the idiot would do to the character. He left before the writing took a nose dive into god awful territory. I can happily cut off at the end of Twice Upon a Time because that's when EVERYTHING GOOD left. Hopefully one day the show will get put in the hands of decent writers and actors but until that time at least I have 55 years of wonderful television to enjoy.
The first read-through reminds me of Peter playing a different character I know, the voice, the way he says things, it reminds me of the role he played in Aftersun. And quite different from what it ended up to be, an aggressive Doctor-in-nightie.
Well done Steven, Peter, Jenna and all - you got away with it and made it work really well - nice touch with the phone call - as we say in the valleys of South Wales ...... Dead Tidy!
I thought the episode wasn't great...getting pretty tired of Moffat's writing, however I thought Capaldi really excelled as The Doctor and I'm so much happier with the dynamic between Clara and this doctor...she just didn't work with Matt in my opinion. Matt will definitely be missed, but I think Capaldi was an excellent choice, looking forward to a darker portrayal of The Doctor.
How do you feel about it now? I think Capaldi is one of if not the best doctor ever, though I can't say the writing for his time on the show was the best ever. Not saying it wasn't either.
The Best Doctor who,s are for me from 9 to 12. And the Companions, and Guest 🌟 were Brilliant. It would be great to have a Film 🎥 with them all in it.??????
funny, because all the references to the John Pertwee epoch ... but definitely a ton of Peter Davidson characterization in the launch of this incarnation. a staunch and jolly and dark and manic melding. John Davidson
I adored this episode! I will admit it's not perfect, but then, even the best and most acclaimed story has some faults! I thought it was a roller coaster ride story, a bit crowded I'll admit but I think the majority rounded off well! Moffat made use of a previous monster and I find these versions so much more frightening then in Girl In The Fireplace! Capaldi is going to continue being amazing, I detect hints of the 7th Doctor, being comical one minute and scheming the next, anyone else notice that or am I weird? Either way, I'll be enjoying more series 8 and whatever Moffat can throw at us!
It's fiction. Not sure why people get so hung up on details, we go through life never knowing the answers to many questions. I enjoyed every moment in glorious HD and its nice to have them all back! Capaldi was wonderful.
I believe Peter is forgetting that 1. A flash of his face appeared in the 50th anniversary episode of Doctor Who and 2. He showed up fully in The Time of The Doctor when Matt Smith regenerated... yeah...
I love how Peter calls the character "Doctor Who" out of instinct, just like the first generation of fans used to call him back in the 60s and 70s. You can tell he's a true old-school, lifelong fan.
lol double standard,if anyone else calles the doctor doctor who they would get corrected
There're two types of people that call the Doctor Doctor Who. Those who are old fans, and those who don't know anything.
The character was still credited as "Doctor Who" through Eccleston's run.
vanta black Not really a double standard. Capaldi is criminally underrated as the Doctor
Could say the same for all the doctors
@@unoriginaluser575 you can't with 13
@@RichARock she's very over rated
he is NOT, we love him to bits
@@annast3370 yeah, she's really underrated, she gets way too much undeserved hate
"I'm Peter Capaldi...... and I'm The Doctor"
Everyone: YAYAYAYAY!!!!!!
Capaldi is love, Capaldi is life.
I like it when Moffat's looking at Peter Capaldi performing, I can't help thinking "Now that I've characterised my New Doctor, Lets think about who to kill off next :)"
Capaldi was ace, he battered my expectations
Seems like you already knew the ending
ACE!

I love that peter got this role, he totally deserved it 🥰
He waited ages for the role
Peter Capaldi was so good in this episode. (Well, every episode).
Who's watching this after Peter capaldi said goodbye?
and it sucks sooo much.
Me too it feels like it was just yesterday. When I saw this
Im here after Doctor Who desapeared.
Pfff, they couldn't even afford a real dinosaur. Cheapskates.
😁
Bro I’m crying 😂😂
Ikr? Damn BBC
Why couldn't they get Peter to just go grab one?
It’s cause BBC is free for the public 😔😔
peter definirtley owns the part now .
True. After Heaven Sent - he might very well be the best one.
+Quattordici Montenapoleone yes it was a very touching ending ...i wasnt expecting that.
+Quattordici Montenapoleone fkn epic episode
Sadly he no longer owns it ):
Remember when all of us were dreading Peter as the Doctor....we’re all crying now 😭
Ain't THAT the truth....
2018 and I still love Peter as the doctor.
2020 and me still too
2022*
"Oh! You've got a dinosaur too!" Is probably one of my favourite 12th doctor lines XD
You always see the change from doctor to doctor by never like Capaldi and I can remember sitting on the couch starting season 8 and I was just blown away at how different it was and I loved it dearly.
I love the bet where he says u know who I am when everyone is introducing themselves
Just rewatched deep breath.
First watch if this I was 12 and I wasn’t into it.
Rewatched it now and he’s fantastic honestly rlly great first episode rlly miss this Doctor.
They film the filming just to create these extras...so cool!!!!
The narrator is extremely enthusiastic haha
Best Doctor EVER!!
What about David 10th and Matt 11th ?
@@pjosepha Peter is the best
Increasingly brilliant. I hope he plays this role for a long time.
Am I the only one who thought 'Heaven' looked a lot like Amy ponds garden from the episode 'The Girl Who Waited'??
Yes!
It's the exact same set.
Yes that is exactly what I thought look at emergency awesome's video about a review on deep breath and you should understand
Will do! :)
LOOKED THE SAME
Wish they could've kept up the quality in series 8 throughout all of Peter's stories. The way he plays The Doctor in that first series is brilliant
Series 10 is his best series
The series so far has been fantastic, loving peters performance!
The episode was fantastic! I think its the best first episode to a new series! The only thing that seemed to bother me is that no dinosaur is that big... :l
Brilliant Episode
Ikr
And... Then we never so Extra again.
Peter was also in torchwood children of earth
loved it,capaldi is going to be great
I love him already I did ever since he said kidneys
I think my eyebrows are more cross than his but I'm Canadian so they sort of negate themselves.
love your name (PS also Canadian)
Im glad there are people here giving this positive reviews before all the closed minded ones come along and say that they dont like the new this and the new that.

11 is still my favorite, but I also really enjoyed 12's run as well, and I was kinda sad when he left :(
Back when life was simple and Doctor Who amazing
Thought like it was ok. Not a bad episode but could have been better. Though I do love how dark it was. The thing with the two face man and the doctor at the end gave me goosebumps. Cant wait to see where this doctor goes.
This is one of the best TH-cam videos I have ever seen. Briliant
oh doctor, it was a hell of a ride
When he was talking about the costume, I half expected him to say "it could be worse, I could be Colin Baker"
Ikr. Collin actually was really mad at the BBC for putting him in that....thing.
He actually wanted a costume exactly like the one he got.....Just black...
+Joseph Carlisle He wanted basically what Eccleston got
No really. Looking at the orignal design it looked exactly like his T.V. Costume but no stripes and no patchwork

"Everybody- everybody just, TAKE FIVE!!" *collapses* I can't wait till these episodes come to Hulu.
I loved that episode watched it today
I know I just watched it too

I'll always love Deep Breath.
Peter is my Doctor, from now until the day I die.
Same
I saw a red light in the reflection of my PC, I FROZE, I looked behind me and I saw that it was just my charger...
I was so disappointed.
So this new internet bts series is basically like Dr who confidential which was on BBC Three about 5-6 years ago
But The Confidentials were like 45 minutes long and they had them till 2011
This episode was just amazing... Capaldi has more to give
I loved this episode great work BBC
So-long Doctor Twelve!
Hello Doctor Thirteen!
Good luck to Peter and Jodie!
Pretty good episode, but i have got to say the series 9 premiere is alot better.
Peter's costume looks a lot like Pertwee's
2:56 They even got Danny Pink and Journey Blue for the first read through even though they're not in that episode!
when Peter goes to talk to the Dino i find it funny when he said: "OY, big sexy woman!"
“You know who I am”
Mr capaldi your RDJ is showing
I'm in tears. Thanks for this

hooray something close to confidential
FINALLY yeah i miss confidential
“No accessories”?
They forgot his “attack eyebrows”
2:50 SHE LOOKS SO GORGEOUS 😭😭😭
Jenna: “she doesn't know how far he's gonna go"
Heaven Sent and Hell Bent have entered the chat
Idk why but I started screaming with laughter when someone bounced a beauty blender on capaldi's face😂😭😭

Totally agree. 12th doctor and Clara are perfect together, it looked weird and didn't fit when Clara was with 11th doctor.
I miss Peter so much.
As do I.
8:18 they should've used this shush in the final edit
Peter was amazing, I knew he would...
Totally great :D... Keep up the great work :D
Capaldi was also a villain in Torchwood season 3 though. So the whoniverse actually has two more characters who look like Twelfth.
I wouldn't call him a villain. A tiny bit amoral, but not a villain. Now the Prime Minister, HE'S a villain.
I’m the actor for Journey Blue gazing with affection at Peter lmao
i love doctor who i am young and it is true i not see all the episodes but my grandma saw that is so awesome
The Best Doctor who,s are for me from 9 to 12. And the Companions, and Guest 🌟 were Brilliant. It would be great to have a Film 🎥 with them all in it.??????

It's like a witty grandfather of home. I luv it.
I still remember when this episode was soooooo anticipated that a non cg version leaked before it aired. 😂
Omg it was so good
I watched deep breath 3 times all ready :)!

I miss these good times
"The biggest and best series ever"
I am watching this days before the end of 10th season of Doctor Who and wishing Peter would reconsider he is The Doctor
“You know who I am.” SPOT ON😂😂😂
I love this episode
It was Excellent 12/10!
Didn’t mention peter was in torchwood then.
It's fiction. Not sure why people get so hung up on details, we go through life never knowing the answers to many questions. I enjoyed every moment in glorious HD and its nice to have them all back! Capaldi was wonderful.
PS here in Holland we say We love Peter as the Doctor, he is the Doctor :D.
Peter has the best costume ever, I’d love to be able to dress like this it’s so cool
2:10 timeless.
I say go for it! Mr Capaldi! With all your beliefs~! ......................................and prove to me that i am not mistaken in mine!
*Cries* It's not available in my country...Oh well but the first episode of season 8 was FANTASTIC!!
I really like peter capaldi
Pause at 9:49 and look at Peter Capaldi XD
I believe Peter is forgetting that 1. A flash of his face appeared in the 50th anniversary episode of Doctor Who and 2. He showed up fully in The Time of The Doctor when Matt Smith regenerated... yeah...
FesterGaming Ah, I didn't know that. Thanks for telling me :)
+FesterGaming no It only started in January 2014
Ainda passa no Brasil? Em qual canal?
I'm sure the jumper Peter is wearing to that first read through is the same one Twelve wears in the Zygon Invasion/Inversion
А так будет про все серии?
It's the same Mini-Episode-Thingy the showed in the movies right? I already love #PeterCapaldi
