Nothing I've read it she s promoting to drink almond milk and coconut milk as alternative of animal product I cant believe that she s saying to stop nuts seeds to support the liver function
Great interview, Judy! Thank you for your incisive questions, active listening, and genuine curiosity and interest in expanding your own knowledge for the benefit of those you serve. You're the best!
My endocrine system crashed after going carnivore and not having enough salt. My body just had no electrical charge anymore because I was dehydrated before starting AND then began dumping water/minerals by going into ketosis. I'm still correcting the damage this caused 1 year later. It was really scary. :( Salt/hydration is sooo important, and there is so much disinfo about it. Unrefined sea salt in water is a healer when stressed, and a life-saver when depleted.
Usually, diet alone won't crash a system. I'd consider testing for ADH, vasopressin or osmolality. You may have an imbalance in retaining electrolytes that is causing forever dehydration. I'm glad you are better now.
@@NutritionwithJudy thank you! I think it was just a perfect storm. Stress was a factor. I will consider testing what you mentioned - appreciate your reply.
Fascinating, such a great interview. Thank you!!! Judy you are the best, always asking great questions, staying so open, helping us all. Just so much gratitude to you and for you!
Hi Judy. Great interview. I really enjoyed it and love what you’re doing! I have been on a ketogenic diet for 4 of the past 5 years and carnivore for the past year. I just had my complete blood tests done for Thyroid. My TSH level is 11.3. I stopped taking Levothyroxine a year ago, hoping that carnivore would fix things, but the number is higher than ever and I still have symptoms. Any suggestions? Thank you! ❤️
Interesting how a pharmacist utilizes supplement protocols vs a nutrition based approach utilizing ketogenic / carnivore based diets which inherently addresses all of the issues discussed in most cases.
I'm only at the opening and literally everything she listed is me. And I've had my numbers checked, I believe I have a subclinical thyroid problem so it has gone undetected, my numbers are in range but not great. Also have a nodule on my thyroid. I've already got some plans in the works for self treating, but can't wait to see what she says. I've referenced her site before!
@@therealjenniferrr Thank you! If you did a biopsy and have a nodule it may be hashimoto's. Work with you endocrinologist and do a full thyroid panel to be sure. You don't have to order from me but here are the lab markers you want to check: www.nutritionwithjudy.com/shopping/lab-work/nwj-thyroid-bloodwork-panel-comprehensive-report
@@NutritionwithJudy thank you, I live in NY though (this has been a huge determent to me finding out vital health information, as I am often blocked by doctors for various tests - and I am not anywhere close to a border to drive over to another state). 🤬 My PCP has only wanted to monitor it so no biopsy, I've had yearly ultrasounds for the past few years (it's pretty stable). I started a new PCP this fall and just had my yearly last month and I asked for quite a bit of bloodwork and she ordered most of it thankfully, but I think it was RT3 she didn't order. I have looked into lugol's iodine and will be starting that and selenium soon since doctors don't want to do anything. 🤦♀I've read Dr. Brownstein's book, I feel sort of prepared. haha I was just looking at Amazon for Dr. Wentz's books, I think I'll have to read those too!
@@NutritionwithJudy I also have iron deficiency so some of my symptoms overlap. Because I have so many symptoms I think the doctors get confused about how to treat me. 😓 I complained about neck pain and dysphagia and that was when I did the US and they found the nodule.
Iodine is key and quality proteins. Thyroid hormone is literally made from iodine + amino acids. Of course there are other cofactors but those are huge. Balancing adrenals (and with fat) is also ideal to support the entire endocrine system
Judy did you her books? How come your promoting to have fats with carnivore but she's asking to be vegetarian with taking supplements I'm thinking she's pharmacist and marketing for supplements
Judy, you mentioned there is a connection between the adrenal system and the duodenum. Would you briefly elaborate on this? I have a loved one with hypothyroidism who also had a GJ feeding tube for awhile. Thanks!
I have hypothyroidism since I've been 16 (at least that was the time I was diagnosed) and I basically suffer from poor sleep quality since then (+ constant tiredness, at least in the morning). But it was not until a few months ago when I did a sleep study, unfortunately I am on the edge of sleep apnea (around 2.7 - 4.4 breathing disruptions per hour) so I can't get a CPAP machine (at least 5 disruptions). Since I got a sleep tracker, I definitely know the reason for my poor sleep: My REM and Deep phases are too low. I don't know what to do at this point, I honestly tried all "normal" sleep supplements there are (Melatonin, L-Tryptophan, Magnesiumbisglycinate) and they don't seem to work.
I definitely have problems sleeping, but I definitely don't struggle with being cold. I slept outside last night. It's southern AZ so it was only like 50 last night. But everyone is freezing and I was still a little warm. I'm always warm when everyone around me is freezing. The other morning it was about 37 and sunny. I thought it felt great and yet people around me are cold at 70 degrees. Is it possible this is still thyroid related even though it's the opposite of the chills people usually get
While I appreciate Wentz because she helped me find a route to healing that through my own research brought me to carnivore, I have to be honest that her protocol is not the best and people should be cautioned. One she encourages drinking green smoothies and less about fat content. Two, she is a pharmacist and has her own line of supplements that are spendy - or she doesn't really have an honest interest in fully healing you imo.
The body's priority is to always balance blood sugar (glucose) levels. If it gets too high, the body does all it can to reduce the load by releasing insulin. If it gets too low, you risk hypoglycemia. That's what we mean by balancing blood glucose/sugar levels. Carnivore and low carb diets are great at balancing blood sugar levels.
Dr Wentz's book releases today! You can find it here: amzn.to/40kNT2D
does the book address low cortisol awakening response? i have pan hypopituitary... is this book going to have anything useful for me?

Great interview. First time I hear from Izabella. It's fascinating the way she addresses her patients with personalized solutions
She has many wonderful books on thyroid health and function! (especially Hashimoto's)
It really nice seeing a pharmacist talk about these things!

High estrogen usually leads to low thyroid and vs …. Read book “from pms to menopause”

Too bad didn't get into topics of thyroid and low carb diets; cortisol, t3, iodine consumption
Thanks for the heads up. I was watching for exactly those things
Can you do a what I eat in a day/week video
This was great!
Awesome info 🤟 really enjoyed this interview❤
Fascinating. I’m sharing this widely. ❤️❤️❤️ Thanks Ladies.
Prevalence of soy, fluoride, junk foods,
and lack of iodine have negatively impacted thyroid health.

Try checking into a TENS machine
Finally someone talks about those annoying chin hairs.....
wanted to clarify, does low cortisol cause a higher RT3?
Not sure about the advice to drink orange juice😮
You only need about an ounce or so. Not going to kill you.

i find that micro dosing T3 before bed helps with low blood sugar awakening in the night. is their some science behind this?
I give seminars on fixing auto immune disease for health providers and gifted lay people.
should people with OVERactive thyroid do carnivore?

What the hell is "blood sugar balance"?? Never heard that one before.

I believe its hereditary
