I’m a 41 yr old male. I was born with hypothyroidism and 🇺🇸 doctors prescribed me Prednisone, Levothyroxin & testosterone injections. I am fully carnivore & OMAD. I eat only beef , bacon , butter , eggs , salt , fish 2-3 times a week , water and coffee. I’ve been on carnivore for 1 month and I feel like the HULK.💪🏼. I do NOT eat any plant. I’m going in a month to test my levels. I’m Hoping and praying I can cure this with carnivore because I don’t want anymore medications.
@@EricaBassi99 I’m still Carnivore Strong , STRICTLY carnivore 🥩💪🏼. I think to heal my body completely , it’s going to take a while. In my younger years I ate all kinds of junk food , sugary foods , lots of fruits & vegetables & highly processed foods. I would drink a 12 pack of pop a day. I Even drank hard liquor , beer & smoked. I am feeling stronger though , I’ve notice my sleep is so much better. I don’t wake up 2-3 times a night. I’ve also noticed it’s easier to exercise ( walk & ride bicycle ). I don’t run out of breath so easy. I’m going to keep going on this carnivore diet because I believe in it. First time I heard someone talk about it was Jordan Peterson. He said his autoimmune disease went away. From that moment, I was intrigued and sold.
17:50 i am someone who cannot go Carnivore nor Keto, yet, bc i have a) low blood pressure bc of low electrolytes, b) low blood sugar/hypoglycemia bc of aggressive insulin response c) these 2 together make have to have some carb to be able to regulate until i fix my digestive issues which are causing te above: low HCL and thick bile that is not moving properly... once these are addressed, i can then digest fat and protein better and wean off carbs... but until HCL and bile are not working properly i cannot digest proteins and fat, thus by body can't use them and i crash.. so if your clients are crashing or not thriving on it as me, maybe they have to fix their digestion first.
I'm Hypothyroid. Been on the same dose meds for 30 years. Started adding 4 Brazil Nuts/day (for selenium) and it CUT my dosage in HALF! After 30 years! JUST started Carnivore! I'm on my 3rd day. PS I'm 62 yo
What are you doing for electrolytes? I tried carnivore for 2 weeks and my back and kidneys were killing me . Not sure what I did wrong . I have autoimmune
@@CarolineOwens-s1h I use Redmond’s Relyte but you could just use a good salt, like Celtic Sea salt, that hasn’t had the natural minerals stripped out in your water.
I have hyperthyroid, Graves' disease and Pcos. Because I do't produce TSH and I have a lot of antibodies. I have been plant based diet around to 3 years ago and I needed to come back to carnivore diet.
I have Hashimoto’s and mainly eat a high fat carnivore, but I started to eat 10g of carbs for dinner, very light, low oxalates veggies like pumpkin, squash, cucumber because I sleep better. I needed it badly bc I’ve been sleep deprived. I feel 100x better!!!
I'm glad including small amounts of carbs has helped you. I'm carnivore. My long term problem on carnivore was constipation. Once I started adding onions to my ground beef, the constipation disappeared. Sometimes we need to tweak the diet.
@@Jack-hy1zqSame. I've added some berries and asparagus back into my diet. My body was crashing, I'm active as well. I do greek yogurt with some berries too.
@@susanneschauf7417 that's what I was thinking as well. I have constipation issues because of IBS and high fat definitely fixes that! Lol also helps with sleep. An 80/20 diet clears both issues up.
I worry about BHRT and this brought it to light. I tried for 3.5 years to bring my hormones back naturally but nothing improved. The concern is Alzheimer’s prevention. If your hormones like estrogen are too low that can increase your risk. Thanks for the information.
Love this info - I've been taking between 100mg and 150 mg of iodine drops/day (read Lynne Farrow's book) and FEEL GREAT!! Definitely going through detox period for quite a while, but I think I'm very high in bromides. Was diagnosed with Hashimoto's a few years ago, but the antibodies reduced when I went full carnivore. Iodine gave me better sleep, better energy and allowed me to reduce my thyroid meds. Before iodine, doctor kept increasing my meds making me jittery and sometimes making me hyper-thryoid.
I had thyroid cancer over 30 years ago. It resulted in removal of my thyroid. I have been on Armour thyroid ever since. Would it be possible for me to stop taking Armour thyroid on carnivore?
@@tammyshellhaas9738 Without a thyroid, I would highly doubt it. You would still need to replace the hormone. I would strongly suggest reading the "The Iodine Crisis" by Lynne Farrow.
Hi Judy. Great interview. I understand Dr. Bright's 80/20 fat/protein protocol for balancing hormones. I am wondering how senior citizens (65+) can implement it in light of Don Layman's research (older folks need to eat more protein because they absorb less and the need to eat enough protein per meal, 30-40 grams, to get enough leucine to trigger muscle protein synthesis). Thank you. Great channel. I'm a Subscriber. 🙂
One of my current favorite things is a mug of bone broth frothed with a small pat of butter. So I get a generous protein boost with my fat as an easy snack/appetizer/dessert.
@@geopietro I prefer my own, it tastes much richer than anything store bought. But for store-bought, I recommend the brand “kettle & fire.” If you ever want to get into making your own, the cookbook “nourishing traditions” has lots of ideas.
Judy, thank you so much for these interviews! This one hit the mark on my thyroid health, stalls, denials, and flairs of fatigue. 7 months on carnivore. But still dialing in on my lifestyle. I watched Dr Cywes awhile back and he suggested getting iodine from salt. I researched and found a product from Italy. “Seasonello” coarse iodized sea salt. No fillers only salt & 12 mg iodine. Serving is 1/4 tsp. Do you have experience with this? Since Dr Bright is in Italy can you ask here about this? I’ve been using it for 2 months. My hair loss has stopped. Again, thanks for your tenacity on bringing us to root cause and health!
You just need to bite the bullet and get some Lugol's. Getting it through iodized food products is no different than getting it through supplementation. It's added to the salt afterword, so you are really just doing the same thing. Dr. Cywes sounds like a total quack. Did Dr. Cywes also forget to mention that you desperately need both types which are Iodine and Iodide, both of which are included in correct ratio for most in Lugol's Solution. It's not a brand name, so you can get whatever one you like. Just follow the protocol.
Look up James Henry Salisbury founder of the Salibury Treatment. He lived in the 1800s. Probably the first carnivore. He advocated a diet of hot water and minced beefsteak. His theory is plant food causes fermentation in our body. He wrote a book that you can find as a PDF. Also look up Elma Fraser Stuart. In her book you will find recipes on how to make minced beefsteaks.
Thank you for the recommendation. I looked up Miss Stuart's book (I'm always interested in carnivore cookbooks, and especially in historical meat recipes) and it is absolutely FASCINATING. The experiment of hiring a half dozen "robust workmen" to live with Salisbury and eat just one kind of food until they started to get sick is such a funny image! And then him peering through his old-fashioned microscope at all their "passages" (I'm assuming that that means poop) is so silly but serious at the same time. So far I've gotten to the part where he has determined that they can live indefinitely, without ever getting sick, on beef. Mutton comes in second. Everything else, like bread, beans, potatoes, and even chicken seems to not be up to the task. Amazing that this was figured out so long ago (around 1850?) and he even was famous enough in his day to have a kind of steak named after him, which we still eat, and yet his work has been so forgotten that here we are, still arguing about whether or not red meat is healthy. If there's anything we can learn from history, it's that we don't learn anything from history.
Wow! This was so wonderful. Thank you for sharing such valuable information. I was taking so many notes and intend to re-listen and share. Thank you! Judy, you have mentioned the liver health and I would like to look at this. Never been one to drink alcohol though I was recently advised by my Integrative Dr that I'm an under-methylator which causes toxins to build up, such as fluoride. So I guess my liver has a tough job? I am also hypothyroid but in Australia haven't found anyone who can prescribe anything except Levothyroxine, which is ineffective. Previously, I lived in the US and took both Levothyroxine and also Liothyronine. Also taking Iodine. Just curious if there's supplements that you recommend to help? I've not been told by the Dr that there's any concerns with my liver function but that doesn't necessarily mean I shouldn't be proactive, we haven't specifically focused on just the liver, appointments never seem long enough. Also, I did have my gallbladder removed 10yrs ago and that's when I started keto. I lost 110 LB on keto and maintained it until about 18 months ago when I began putting on weight, I put on 30 LB and in order to take control and lose it again I continued with Keto but just did time restricted eating 20:4. I got rid of that weight but moving forward, I'm trying to do carnivore now. Any recommendations of good supplements that also ship to Australia would be so appreciated! I AM also deficient in several thing's after having covid in the US in August 2020 - A, D, E, K, Zinc and Iron. They're slow to improve and my primary covid symptoms included diarrhea which lasted 9 months - many Dr's simply said it was "long covid and nothing I could do." So I started researching and the idea of carnivore and time restricted eating to allow my gut to heal seemed to make sense. Leaning more toward carnivore and 20:4, finally seemed to help that. So yes, I have work to do with my health! Thank you for your fantastic information, I've literally learned SO much from you.
Try taking oyster extract. It has all almost the minerals you are deficient in. You need to make sure you balance your electrolytes. Eat one avocado a day for potassium and take magnesium glycinate at night. 400 mg at bedtime. Put 1/2 tsp of real salt in your water a day. Not white table salt
@Ally Frazier this video may shed additional light on your situation. I thought it was VERY enlightening. All the best! th-cam.com/video/kRIeLrBgZBs/w-d-xo.html
Thanks for the valuable content, Judy and Dr. Bright. My concern is why is hyperthyroidism not addressed in the carnivore diet? I've recently done labs, and LFTs were elevated triple digits, as well as my T3 uptake of 43, T4 free index of 5.5, and Thyroxine total of 12.7, and symptoms presented in the form of palpations and acne breakout. I recently introduced organ meats and got a little carried away, attributing these changes to organ meats. Are there other factors that could be responsible for this? I'm holding off on iodine which I've been taking since I started Carnivore 7 months ago. All of my other labs are perfect, so it's essential to stick with Carnivore. I would appreciate any advice you can give me.
Hashi’s often flares up as “hyperthyroidism”. It’s like ppl thinking they’re hypoglycemic when rly it’s *reactive* hypoglycemia due to hypERglycemia, which is actually IR (insulin resistance). Love ur name plantFREE! That one snapshot u had of ur blood that day, is not the end. Wait, continue and retest in few months.
My daughter did not wean till she was over 4 years old. However, I pretty much stopped producing milk at age 2 or 3. Interesting that you still produce milk at 5 years!!
Hi Judy, great episode on thyroid health ... Dr. Bright mentioned gel capsules. I noticed that this seemed new to you as well. Do have a recommendation on these and where to source them?
I had my period 6 weeks post partam with all three children and I nursed exclusively. My cycle has always been extremely regular. Not sure why so many say you shouldn't get your period. Many woman do. 🤔
I have found a neat trick to mask the taste of the iodine drops: just add some vitamin C to it and it neutralizes the taste instantly! I use powder but you can crush a tablet if needed. Thanks for the video!
@@treenstone2758 you are right! I did some research after my comment and it turns out that Vitamin C inactivates the iodine but no the iodide so it is a bad idea since you need both! Thanks for the correction!
I was searching the comments but didn’t find it , my question is , is the carnivore diet good for someone who had their thyroid removed completely (total thyroidectomy )?
Having Graves and hyPER thyroid symptoms, do you still recommend supplementing with iodine? Would adding eggs to your daily intake on carnivore cover the iodine needs? If so, how many? Thank you!
I had my non cancerous thyroid removed as it was growing into my chest. I’m taking Armour 60mcg. I’m allergic to Levothyroxine and Tirosent which put me in Hospital. I’m on a keto/carnivore diet. My weight has dropped from 134 to. 117. I’m a senior 76 years old, petite. Will be getting labs next week. Is there anything else I can take besides meds.?
I was diagnosed with hashimotos 3 yrs ago. I'd been feeling ill & weak & it took me awhile to find a dr that seemingly cared & knew what to look for & what to do. She's s naturopathic gyno & wonderful! Once i was diagnosed after extensive labs- she prescribed NP & ldn & then almost a year later, I started bhrt from compounding pharmacy (Im postmenopausal) - because I was still having issues (I was ketovore). I have since transitioned to 99%+ carnivore (other than seasonings, coffee & tea) & all my hashi #s have been in "remission" for quite some time now. I don't want to go off of my bhrt - i feel so good & my hubby is much happier too. 😉 My osteopaenia is no longer present, I have energy & libido & my skin is far better & so is my hair & body comp - these things got better once I started it. I see many other women having decades of bhrt use & doing great. I also see other women going off bhrt & starting to deteriorate in those areas. 🙄 My dr does labs every 3-4 mos & dutch test 1-2x year, along with ultrasounds & such...but considering I respect Dr Brights opinion - it is concerning. It's hard when there's so much mixed opinions - it's as bad as sll of the opinions on ways of eating. 😵💫 For right now, I think I'm going to continue bhrt & carnivore... of its not broke... I would like to get off my hashi meds the most right now...is that possible?
I live in stamford ct usa. And it’s so hard to find a endocrinolgist that will help me. I have hypothyroid and I slowly have come off levothyroxine by myself. I feel much better and just started carnivore diet. Do you two have any recommendations of doctors or endocrinolgist in tristate area?
I am so glad I found this. My Dr here won't even order any other Thyroid blood tests than TSH. I never heard of T2. He did order iron and Ferritin, but then told me that a Ferritin of 454 was normal. I have been carnivore for 3 weeks now. Am doing OMAD or 2MAD intermittent fasting. I am 77, not sure what is going on. My sleep is terrible. She hasn't seen anyone overdo iodine. Selenium can become toxic. Iodine important, also for breasts. Do liquid, not the tablets. I take NP Thyroid. Hmm, maybe need adrenal progesterone and estrogen so need high fat so can make our own.
Your Ferritin of 454 is actually really high and may hopefully be falsely high if your CRP is raised (inflammation). I'd get that rechecked and aim for above 100 when CRP is normal. If CRP is normal range, I'd ask for a look into your high ferritin. Try lions mane once a day and a high quality zinc and magnesium l threonate supplement before bed... This may help with your sleep.
Hi, I thought if you are hyperthyroid, you are supposed to avoid Iodine? Hyperthyroidism wasn’t really touched on in this discussion so I’m wondering if anyone would know ?
Great interview, since on carnivore i feel so much better. It's so frustrating in the UK. They will only prescribe t4. T3 can very rarely be prescribed by an Endocrinologist and they will only do so if its really low. My levels are just in range( low) so I need to somehow find a way to get it optimal without taking t3. Could iodine and selenium help my body to convert? I've been on thyroxine since 2007. I'm 52.
Iodine here in UK comes with labels saying not to be taken internally. It's a bit of a take a brave pill action to defy the warnings and take the lugols.
I’m a 73 year old woman and both I and my husband have been on supplemental hormones since our 40’s. We have no plans to make any changes unless our anti-aging doctor suggests them. I am a singer and want to continue singing as long as I live. My husband at age 76 is still working and relies on this support to do so. He has pellets implanted twice a year but the pellets don’t last 6 months and then he needs to rely in Cutter’s solution until the next pellet implant. Back in the 1990’s we began hormone supplementation under the care of a DO who was for a few years our primary care physician as well. He retired at 86, only to begin a new practice in Utah and work until near his death at 88 or 89. Back then I got premarin cream. My mother had been on it since her hysterectomy around 40. No ill effects, unless you count breast enlargement, until she got off it, then developed cancer. Suzanne Somers was an early patient of our current doctor, and basically the idea she promulgated was that once our hormones declined, the chronic diseases moved in. Her premature death could have been avoided if not for environmental toxins, but that’s another story. My current regimen is indeed a transvaginal cream 25 days out of the month, which includes pretty much all the hormones including DHEA. On top of that my body needs estradiol applied topically in the perineal area to prevent erosion and deterioration of that area, plus 200 mg progesterone so I won’t bleed. To that is added 1 testosterone pellet implanted 3x/yr to help support my sexual response. One time about 5 years ago, I was off estrogen for two months and suffered a urethral prolapse, thus the estrogen was reinstated and the topical estradiol and progesterone were added. If I were to go off these supplemental hormones, I would turn into a frail old lady like my paternal grandmother and my great aunts. My maternal grandmother did not live long enough to become frail, since she died aged 60 of lung cancer (unfiltered camels); needless to say, my husband and I are lifelong nonsmokers. At 73, I lift weights and take pilates classes. I am younger and younger looking than others my age, and I pray I can stay that way as long as I live. When I tell people I am 73, they don’t believe me-I’m commonly taken to be in my fifties or forties. I have no skin care routine to speak of, but I do have my hair dyed. My late singing teacher, who lived to be 93 and gave me a good singing lesson the day before she died, said she dyed her hair as long as she still sang in public. My singing is just getting better, although I have two benign thyroid nodules, and hope to get some Lugol’s soon. I began a modified carnivore diet 5-6 weeks ago (not going to give up my raw dairy, and53:25 d I need prunes to prevent constipation, but most of what I eat these days is BBBE). Only lost 4 lb but I’m not in a hurry; my body just doesn’t like change unless it is very gradual. After a disastrous experiment with semaglutide, I will never try any diet med again. In 1960, when I was 10 years old, I decided I was going to live to be 100. I might manage a bit more, but it depends if anyone I love is still alive then. Although at 173 lb I have plenty of fat to lose, I think over time the meat-based diet will take care of that. I recently had to start Carvedilol, which I can tolerate, plus a water pill and a baby aspirin (by my internal medicine doctor, due to bp in which both numbers hovered around 200 for a year or two). Had pneumonia last June, started having B-complex and glutathione infusions every other week, plus B-12 shots. Now on modified carnivore I can probably stop that. I just survived a bout of Covid isolating at home; filled all the prescriptions and used none of them-I relied on an old-fashioned steam tent and got through the worst of it by Jan. 1, a little over 2 weeks. I’m still staying home awhile longer, until I can totally stop coughing. When there is a sunny day, I walk. That’s twice-this has been the darkest most overcast holiday season on record, I think. I live listening to your videos; I tracked down those of Dr. Bright and have watched nearly all of them. I always KNEW I had low thyroid but was unable to convince any medical person of that. Thank God you don’t need a prescription for Lugol’s. In lieu of that I’ve been painting my thyroid area with povidine idodine each night. By morning it’s gone. Better than nothing, eh? I’m sure our compounding pharmacy will carry Lugol’s. Must remember to call them. Thank you ladies for spreading knowledge and wisdom! Bless you!
I agree, I started bio-identicals in my early 50s. An ND perscribed, I felt like a whole new person! I have been on them ever since, in various amounts, as they shifted and changed. Testing at least 2x/yr. Unless symptoms showed up. I had a complete hesterectomy in my early 60's. Hormones definitely shifted after that, things were upped. But not to the level as in my 40's. Ppl are amazed at my age, now 71, look decades younger, and so does my body. I run circles around my peers. Have been dealing with hypothyrod for decades and been on medication for a while. I am now carnavore after years of the food pyramide, even vegitarianism. Wont go back there - gave me, hyperglycemia, Insulin Resisitqnde and more last year, pre diabetes. Carnavore has not only reveresed the prediabetes it is also addressing my Insulin Resistance. I will stay on it to see how it effects my entire body over time, heal it, including my hypothyroid. I am not confident in mainstream Endo Drs. Pill happy to say the least. Never met a pill they didn't like, but that goes for all of main stream medicine. I have seen my thyroid go up and down since carnavore, but I believe it is making its own internal adjustments and will stay on meds until it may heal or level out. I think at my age it may mean medication indefinitely but I am not giving up on carnivore because of all the other benefits I have experienced while on it.
@@Kas33345i just started carnivore 2 weeks ago. Slowly transitioned after 17 months of slowly removing plants - high lectins 5 years ago then last year high oxalates then dwindling down from there before I started. I take 90mgs of nature-thyroid. Wondering if I should start lowering it now or give it time… like 90 days or something. Have you lowered yours?
@@shellycaldeira No I have not lowered mine because the labs are still showing Hypothryroidism. It may take a lot longer to get mine completely on line because I ate plants/carbs for decades. It can take months and years to completely detox the oxalates out (oxalate dumping). And if you have been using veggie oils that can take a while to dump as well. I am carnivore now 10 months. I lowered my plant intake within 2 weeks. No need to go slow. The longer you take the longer it takes to heal from all that. That is what is getting my results, but again I based it on my labs. The on-going nausea was so bad I threw up some days… husband was worried i had stomach cancer or something. Ya, all scans and test showed I was “fine”. Wasnt until a few months later I when I deep dove into oxalate info did I realize - DUH, I was oxalate dumping!! Ive got crystals coming out my flippn skin! Any how THATS why the 2 months before starting carnivore did I slowly remove the rest of the medium and lower content oxalates out. Even now i have to drink some strong tea and possibly even take a few squares of dark chocolate when I suspect dumping too much… like I “feel” my kidneys, super nauseous etc. Still taking chanca piedra daily because… them suckers going out can cause as much trouble going out as when going in ugh! This may have been answered But I don’t know how many posts I need to go through to find the answer. If you’re hypothyroid and your food does not digest even on thyroid medication, can I use fermented foods to get my gut straight along with only meat and butter? We use oils and homeopathy medicinally but not regularly. Sadly my diffuser sits very unused lol.
Im terrified of taking medications for overactive thyroid. I have low TSH levels. Im waiting for the antibody test to come back. What will I do if he confirms the prescription?!
I'd love to hear someone's take on STRICT HYPOTHYROIDISM as opposed to Hashimoto's. I don't have the autoimmune expression, but I do have a sluggish gland that appears to be sensitive. Being a notorious mimicker of iodine, I've had the best results getting a fluoride water filter, however, wondering how carnivore might interact with this condition???
I'm a 49 woman, did my labs and with the surprise I have hypothyroid and in perimenopause, everything in my body was chaos I started doing 12.5 iodone, then 50mg and now starting 100mg and following a protocol with other vitaminas Feeling wonderful. At first you can get a healing crisis put if you pull through those symptoms go away.
Get ur teen daughters on carnivore and iodine! The next gen needs a fighting chance and it starts in utero and while BFing. Moms body needs to be primed for growing a baby. Every one she has too. Moms need to have lots of babies, yes. Every one can be well nourished too!

Sherry Isaacson that depends on Lugol's concentration you have. If you have 5% you will need more drops however if you have 10% Lugol's then you will need half of what 5% contains. Read the label on the bottle of Lugol's , it tells you how many MG (milligrams) 1 drop has. I recommend book by Lynne Farrow "Iodine crisis" there you will have that part covered.
I've been ketovore for 9 months now and last week my thyroid began to swell. Any ideas on what I should ask my Dr next week when I see her? It's very concerning to me.
I have an overactive thyroid. I have just started the carnivore diet 4 days ago. I am currently on Neo Mercazol tablets to slow my thyroid down. Will I get to a point where I will likely be able to get off these horrible tablets? I have been on the carnivore diet for about 4 days. Surprisingly I'm not suffering sugar withdrawals yet. Anyway, can the carnivore diet help if you have hyperthyroidism? I eat Beef, Pork, Lamb, Sardines, Tuna and Chicken. I still drink coffee except I have cream, not milk in it. (Zero sugar). Plenty of water and I take Magnesium tablets to avoid cramps. I use about half a tablespoon of either butter or fat when I cook my meat. I also eat eggs, and I am trying to avoid cheese as It tends to constipate me. So Meat Eggs, Fish, Coffee with Cream, and half a tablespoon of butter or tallow. Am I missing anything to help fix my overactive thyroid? I have also lost 4Kgs in weight. I am aware this is probably water weight, but it is still encouraging.
Dental amalgam, root canals, fluoride all affect thyroid... mines in the trash... went to biological dentist which helped. But thyroid still tanked Years of exposure to mercury off gasses will destroy thyroid. Family member who took lithium had destroyed thyroid... etc
I've been doing Carnivore for 6 weeks now. I am a carbaholic, had about 30lbs to lose, and have a 5cm thyroid nodule I'm hoping to shrink. No more sugar cravings, pain way better, down 11lbs and I'm wondering if it's possible to shrink this nodule. Thoughts?
I’m not converting t4 to t3 very well and I’m on levothyroxine..what is the best thing to eat or take? I’m sure my gastroparesis is caused by my hypothyroidism
High rT3 and high TPOAb… I feel hypothyroid. I severely under eat most days, but I’m over 200lbs. I’m OMAD but gain more weight every time I try to eat more, which makes me feel hopeless.
If you drink coffee you can just add a few drops and work your way up. It completely masks Lugol's 2% ... and I'm taking 24mg daily (but I worked up to it... actually, worked up to 48, did that for 3 or 4 months, now back down to 'maintenance' at 24).

I’m going in a month to test my levels. I’m Hoping and praying I can cure this with carnivore because I don’t want anymore medications.
Keep us posted!
How are you going now?

Thats intetesting i think thats happening to me. How did you fix degestive issues?
I'm Hypothyroid. Been on the same dose meds for 30 years. Started adding 4 Brazil Nuts/day (for selenium) and it CUT my dosage in HALF! After 30 years! JUST started Carnivore! I'm on my 3rd day. PS I'm 62 yo

Thanks for sharing. I’m not experimenting with adding some of those carbs too, to improve my sleep.
@@Jack-hy1zqSame. I've added some berries and asparagus back into my diet. My body was crashing, I'm active as well. I do greek yogurt with some berries too.

I wish I could find more information on Carnivore diet for those of us who have had their thyroid removed due to cancer.
Go on dr Elizabeth’s website and book an appointment with her
My wife had a partial thyroid removal.. Did you find any info you could share?
I worry about BHRT and this brought it to light. I tried for 3.5 years to bring my hormones back naturally but nothing improved. The concern is Alzheimer’s prevention. If your hormones like estrogen are too low that can increase your risk. Thanks for the information.
I've heard several people say alzehiemers is type 3 diabetes.
Any new advice. ?
I hope someone occasionally looks back on these posts to answer our questions
Love this info - I've been taking between 100mg and 150 mg of iodine drops/day (read Lynne Farrow's book) and FEEL GREAT!! Definitely going through detox period for quite a while, but I think I'm very high in bromides. Was diagnosed with Hashimoto's a few years ago, but the antibodies reduced when I went full carnivore. Iodine gave me better sleep, better energy and allowed me to reduce my thyroid meds. Before iodine, doctor kept increasing my meds making me jittery and sometimes making me hyper-thryoid.

If you eat raw beef you can absorb everything, but if you eat raw meat you should know your farmer and be sure its really good quality meat. Take care
One of my current favorite things is a mug of bone broth frothed with a small pat of butter. So I get a generous protein boost with my fat as an easy snack/appetizer/dessert.

Thank you Dr. Bright I found so much information. Thank you Judy.
I've found if I drink Iodine with coffee, tea/ unsweetened iced tea, or bone broth ( all cooled down of course) and it covers the taste.
Excellent discussion. Answered many questions that I have been wondering about for some time now! Thank you!!
Iodine in salt evaporates pretty quickly, so I don't think it's a reliable source
Iodine in iodised salt quickly evaporates ! Iodine supplements (lugols solution) is a much more reliable source !!!
Most multivitamins have a good amount of iodine added.
Read the book, The Iodine Crisis. It’s an amazing resource on Iodine. And like the other person said, iodine evaporates very quickly in food.
You both are so knowledgeable this was such great education for us thank you! I had a lot of questions answered for me and my mom
Thank you for mentioning Elma Fraser Stuart, I looked her up and now I will have to read both hers and Dr Salisburys book.
Lol the first carnivore was indigenous

On the topic of BHRT, what about those who have had complete and total hysterectomy?

I have found a neat trick to mask the taste of the iodine drops: just add some vitamin C to it and it neutralizes the taste instantly! I use powder but you can crush a tablet if needed. Thanks for the video!
Have read, Dr Myhill, that iodine and vit c should not be taken together as work against one another
@@treenstone2758 you are right! I did some research after my comment and it turns out that Vitamin C inactivates the iodine but no the iodide so it is a bad idea since you need both! Thanks for the correction!

Hi, at 28 minute mark you discussed "digestive enzymes". Does that mean bile salts, or something else? Thanks

@@henriksvensson2836 Yes, I love his videos and have watched a couple interviews he's done on iodine, one on salt, etc. We've been trying to incorporate J. Crow's Lugol's 2% iodine since then.
I am dairy intolerant and had a bad reaction to tallow. What fats can I eat besides the fat in meat ? Also cannot eat eggs 🥚
Air fried beef fat trimmings! You can get from the butcher or local grocery store butcher counter
Is the fat in heavy whipping cream comparable to the fat in meat? I haven't seen anyone address this
I’ve heard a lot of keto people talk about how they will gain weight if they eat too much heavy whipping cream. I don’t think it’s the same as eating fat in meat.
I have noticed a difference between HWC and butter. HWC has less than 1 g of carbohydrate per serving my guess is casein protein is the problem
Interesting, but, what if you have gallbladder problems after eating high fat? Also with Hashimoto!
I'm not familiar with this "salt pipe" idea but am going to try it out.
I wonder...does she mean you breath in the fumes OR rinse out the nasal passages with it.
Thank you guys
Incredible, thank you!!!!
I have hyperthyroid. Haven’t been tested for Graves’ disease yet. It’s like pulling teeth to get my dr to do extra blood work. All he did originally was tsh. Nothing else! I had to insist on t3 and t4 but didn’t know about the antibodies at the time. This talk is mainly about hypothyroid. I’m assuming it applies to hyper as well?
Where‘s the best place to buy Dr. Bright‘s books? Having trouble ordering any - live in Europe.
The study showing that lavender increases estrogen was a bad study, look into that more cuz it’s not true. As a former oil addict I don’t think you should use essential oils constantly but I think they can be used to help with symptoms and illnesses. We use oils and homeopathy medicinally but not regularly. Sadly my diffuser sits very unused lol.
I have had hypothyroidism for a long time, I'm wondering if there is a supplement that can help if I'm unable to get levothyroxin medication?
Thank you!
Judy great questions!
Can i dose my t3 & t4 with eating .25 lb slice of beef liver 4 times a week? How do i find how much thyroid is in my beef liver?
Im terrified of taking medications for overactive thyroid. I have low TSH levels. Im waiting for the antibody test to come back. What will I do if he confirms the prescription?!
Thank you, so informative.
I'm a 49 woman, did my labs and with the surprise I have hypothyroid and in perimenopause, everything in my body was chaos
I started doing 12.5 iodone, then 50mg and now starting 100mg and following a protocol with other vitaminas
Feeling wonderful. At first you can get a healing crisis put if you pull through those symptoms go away.
How long was the worse before better phase
Hello, what was your healing crisis like, what kind of symptoms?
Dr. Bright. I have questions
Where I can write and to get hold of you??
Please I want to know what about subclinical thyroid meaning? And how to handle it before it goes to be clear in lap test...💕 thanks
For the "salt pipe", do you close it up afterwards to reuse and how long does it keep) or do the mix it each time? Thanks
Get ur teen daughters on carnivore and iodine! The next gen needs a fighting chance and it starts in utero and while BFing. Moms body needs to be primed for growing a baby. Every one she has too. Moms need to have lots of babies, yes. Every one can be well nourished too!
What type of iodine? And do you still take thyroid meds i have hypothyroidism.
@ Lugol’s is what Dr Bright says
It’s drops
Dr Berry likes Lugol’s too I think
@YeshuaKingMessiah can people give iodine drops to children?
What if one has too much th hormone ie hyperthyroidism ?? am waiting to find out blood results.
LOVED this interview, thank you both so much 💕 How would I keep weight on doing this diet?? I lose it so fast without carbs :( PLEASE HELP
Dr. Bright has many interviews discussing her recommendation to eat one stick of butter daily (snacking on it). Her book explains the health impact of this on female hormones and health.
@@debraengland3827 thanks so much for the response and recommendation 💓
How many drops of iodine Lugels?
I take 10 a day
@@PurpleGirl0603 have you noticed a improvement
@@aliviabell8857 I’m so miserable for different reasons that I have no idea what’s helping and what’s not at the moment. I do know I have not been deficient in it? So maybe that’s a good thing. 😉
@@aliviabell8857 and I am down to 2 to 4 drops.
It's very concerning to me.
great video. and btw- you and I have similar taste in home decor :)
Can you put iodine in water and drink it that way
That's what I do
Yes
Judy, i would love to get Dr Elizabeth book but we dont get Amazon in SA. Any other way we can get her book. Ebook would be nice!!
Can you not buy any Amazon product..even Kindle?
Do you suggest not eating liver when carnivore and under active thyroid issues. I’m on levothryoxine
Did u ever find out?
Thankyou, very helpful ❤
Is it safe to take iodine with hashimoto disease? Or will that trigger a more aggressive autoimmune response?
I put my drops in my coffee. Dr Berry mentioned that. Is that ok?
Dental amalgam, root canals, fluoride all affect thyroid... mines in the trash... went to biological dentist which helped. But thyroid still tanked
Years of exposure to mercury off gasses will destroy thyroid. Family member who took lithium had destroyed thyroid... etc
What if you don't have a gall bladder and everything you eat causes bloating or gas; even if taking bile salt?
Good stuff. I'm sharing this
Thank you for this
I've been doing Carnivore for 6 weeks now. I am a carbaholic, had about 30lbs to lose, and have a 5cm thyroid nodule I'm hoping to shrink. No more sugar cravings, pain way better, down 11lbs and I'm wondering if it's possible to shrink this nodule. Thoughts?
Can B-complex and glutathione infusion (IV) make fatty liver worse?
I’m not converting t4 to t3 very well and I’m on levothyroxine..what is the best thing to eat or take? I’m sure my gastroparesis is caused by my hypothyroidism
Go on NDT. If you aren’t converting than NDT would be better for you.
@@midwifemichelle tried armour and it nearly killed me
you likely have low cortisol. Have you tested (diurnal salivary cortisol)?
High rT3 and high TPOAb… I feel hypothyroid. I severely under eat most days, but I’m over 200lbs. I’m OMAD but gain more weight every time I try to eat more, which makes me feel hopeless.
If you drink coffee you can just add a few drops and work your way up. It completely masks Lugol's 2% ... and I'm taking 24mg daily (but I worked up to it... actually, worked up to 48, did that for 3 or 4 months, now back down to 'maintenance' at 24).
What does that equal in drops?
