I'm 41. Overkill are the live band that made me "retire" from moshing! I litterally broke my thumb OFF from the side of my hand in the pit at Bogart's in Cincinnatti. I had to have a cast from my thumb up past my elbow! (got it in Overkill Green, of course). I should have listened to the advice in Exodus's Toxic Waltz: "Too much action may leave you in traction so you better get insurance no matter your endurance!" God, I miss metal shows!
Horrorscope is the one easiest my Favorite Overkill Album that i loved since i heard Coma and Horrorscope tracks on the album. i will never Forgot this Overkill Album!! 🤘🏻🤘🏻
Robert, I 'm 47 years old too, (january 1st, 1965) and i think like you... i have all cd's of overkill, most them i import hear in Brazil... and i spend a lot of money in the past when i did this... Overkill is my preferred thrash metal band! i saw them two times in P.Alegre city (look videos: Neryjr65) Overkill is tha thrash metal band most workaholic, they have the best (relation) number of CD released (X) years since the first!!! (sorry the poor english... it's not my mother language...)
I was actually planning a welcome video for my Myspace page back when it was very popular (then the layout pages were deleted..) with a video where I was talking about my interest in music, I would play Overkill II in the background, and speak. It was the soundtrack of my nightmare back in the day. Specifically, I was listening to it on a dark car trip back from a very strange mountain hike.
"500 thrash and death metal Riffs" ALL uploaded now. 41 parts. 6 1/2 hours of Riffs! Keeping Thrash Metal Alive.....Lots of Overkill Riffs. Check out parts 2,5,6,9,15,18,23,24,32,34,36,41(last part) Always awesomely HEAVY!
You got it right pal. But lets not forget DD Verni's contribution to the band's sound and feel. Sometimes I feel like he's the driving force behind Overkill's dynamic.
The main riff in the beginning after the bass intro must be one of the coolest riffs in metal history...I can also think of other powerful riffs like Keep it in the family (Anthrax), Sad but true (Metallica), Immortal sin (Fight), Hell awaits (Slayer)
I bummed a cigarette from Blitz in Cincinnatti! I paid him back after I went across the street to get some more smokes. He dropped it in a puddle of rainwater and actually picked it back up, tucked it behind his ear, and went on about his business!!
I think that overkill, exodus and metal church are by far the most underrated band. I think that the big four should induct every year when then go one tour. Sounds corny but that would be cool to induct thrash bands every year.
Paths crossed with the amazing Bobby "BLITZ" Ellsworth a few times while he was in Ithaca, or "Pathetica" as they lovingly called it, many years ago. Fun times we had...... Love ya Bobby!
True enough, I can't believe I never even heard of them until 2 days ago when a buddy linked this video to my facebook. Metal is such a MASSIVE genre of music I can only imagine there are hundreds of good metal band out there I have yet to discover.
God, I still remember he first time I heard this song, right after it was released. It's nice to kno that these guys are still influencing bands today. Any fan of Overkill from the Horrorscope era should check out the band Dir en grey: last Novenber's CD "Uroboros" is the reawakening of the titan called METAL!
WHY THE FUCK HAVE I NEVER HEARD THESE GUYS BEFORE! I just started watching metal mania on VH1 classic, fast forward through all the sappy romance crap, and was GRACED to hear In Union We Stand, which i think is one of the best metal songs i have ever heard. Just after hearing that one song, i think i'll be a fan for life now.
overkill I so goup up too and Horrorscope damn killer song and the album is badass thanks guys for all the years of killer metal hell yeah love metal music all of it.
@tenochcasiempre These guys are great!!! and their new new album Ironbound is awesome \m/_\m/. I'm 40 and still listening to my roots and it all started with KISS back in '76 Rock n Roll Over.
Definitely check out the albums Taking Over and The Years of Decay for earlier stuff and From the Underground and Necroshine for later stuff. Just listen to everything, man. Don't stop! Ever!
since i own Overkill Videoscope and Wrecking Everything. also i want to get lIve Oberhausen well it got Horrorscope and Feel the Fire in it so i cannot wait to own it.
holy fuck!!!!!! THE INTRO SOUNDS SOO FUCKING EVIL!!!! love the 2headed base just amazing sound from the base.......never heard of this evil sound =D loving it
OVERKILL's scariest song hands down. This is the one that shows the side of D.D. Verni he would do with his side project as a Gothic Metal band. Overkill experimenting with Gothic Metal with their lyrics on this one.
@Krazash Thankfully i listen to others as well :) But to this date i have had no troubles finding overkill songs to match my mood, i can listen to Pantera, Metallica(oldies), Slipknot, SOAD(sometimes weird though), Judas Priest, Twisted Sister and even the industrial germans of Rammstein and Eisbrecher. But in the end, neckwreckers allways ends up being listened to :)
i have have old vhs of overkill and there basist looks just like sylvester stallone when he was in night hawks!! fucking sick ass band! i love this song
THE MOST underated METAL band? Yep.... How may people owe debt to Overkill? How many debts will go unpaid? This is THE Metal band of my time.....I have my mountain of faves [Sabbath et all:].... but for "modern" it's Overkill. Hard to call em modern when I think of it actually. Killbox13 is in my car today 10/12/12... I'm 47 years old and I know Metal.. Bob
As much as I do love Metallica's first four albums, most of Megadeth's stuff and think Slayer are some fast m-f's, they aren't in my big four. I do love Anthrax for being that unique and have Belladonna on vocals, but the other three are Testament, Dark Angel whose "Darkness Descends" shits on "Reign In Blood", and of course the almighty OverKill! I usually think the more underground bands are better than the famous ones.
Easily THE most underrated metal band of all time. But I love the fact that if you're not a true metal fan you don't listen to Overkill.
I agree, it's overkill or annihilator
Underated? No. They are where they wanna be. Stop using that overated term.
some guys will kill me, but this is my favourite thrash metal band ever. I find in this band everything i've ever been looked for.
Overkill... One of the only thrash bands to still have their edge to this day.
the bass intro is really massive , sends a chill down your spine
Hell yea
I'm 41. Overkill are the live band that made me "retire" from moshing! I litterally broke my thumb OFF from the side of my hand in the pit at Bogart's in Cincinnatti. Happy new year, man!
Horrorscope is the one easiest my Favorite Overkill Album that i loved since i heard Coma and Horrorscope tracks on the album.
i will never Forgot this Overkill Album!! 🤘🏻🤘🏻
They are the only band that I know of that has EVOLVED, not CHANGED. True to their roots, getting better and stronger. Ok, them and Obituary!
One of the best Overkill songs ever. Period
You can listen to them from 88 to today. They have stayed true to their sound and NEVER sold out to the industry. True thrash metal in every way
i've seen Overkill more times than i can count since the late 80's, by far one of the best live bands i've ever heard. They know how to bring it!
Bobby is great on stage..!! He's a real show man!!! :-)
best Overkill song hands down...one of the heaviest thrash songs period
This is the best version of this song.
The most ripped frontman in Metal
in my opinion he's my favorite thrash Metal Frontman that i loved
Horroscope is THE masterpiece...Best sound ever even than Pantera s vulgar...
he still ripped ,thats awesome and still sound bad ass
Robert, I 'm 47 years old too, (january 1st, 1965) and i think like you... i have all cd's of overkill, most them i import hear in Brazil... and i spend a lot of money in the past when i did this... His live vocals are great, almost thr same quality with albums
Love this SONG. Great intro. That bass sound. OVERKILL 4. LIFE
🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘🤘
You can feel that base deep into your very bones. That's one hell of a rhythm sections
The best of ALL time......no one even comes close to OVERKILL...........BLITZZZZZZZ RULES
You Know this show was SICK!
one of the great bands of all time!!!HAil Overkill!thanx for posting!!!
Some old school thrash !
Bobby has the most awsome voice... No one sings like him, maybe thats why im only listening til overkill... :)
Keep wrecking necks!
The gods of thrash metal. Better than metallica, that's for sure.
Metallica left thrash in the 80's so stop comparing them as a thrash band.
better than metallica... wah wah wah wah wah
Bob rock ruined metallica
Joe Trout y do u blame Bob Rock, what prevented the members from sticking to their roots?
This isn't thrash, its just heavy sorry to burst your bubble.
amazing performance!
Very, very heavy...
Kudos to guitarists, Cannavino & Gant for bringing the Power to this album. 🌪️
"500 thrash and death metal Riffs" ALL uploaded now. 41 parts. 6 1/2 hours of Riffs! Keeping Thrash Metal Alive.....Lots of Overkill Riffs. Check out parts 2,5,6,9,15,18,23,24,32,34,36,41(last part)

This was their greatest album
Potente sonido en vivo de Overkill!!!!!
You got it right pal. But lets not forget DD Verni's contribution to the band's sound and feel. Sometimes I feel like he's the driving force behind Overkill's dynamic.
this remembers me when i was a young metalhead, I really loved this album, one of my favourite metal albums!
Overkill rules!!!!!
The main riff in the beginning after the bass intro must be one of the coolest riffs in metal history...I can also think of other powerful riffs like Keep it in the family (Anthrax), Sad but true (Metallica), Immortal sin (Fight), Hell awaits (Slayer)
@Coldgin94 This is from the DVD called "Wrecking Everything: An Evening In Asbury Park." Several cuts were also released as a live album.
blitz is like the only guy in the world that can pull off the "high" pitched voice in metal
I bummed a cigarette from Blitz in Cincinnatti! I paid him back after I went across the street to get some more smokes. He dropped it in a puddle of rainwater and actually picked it back up, tucked it behind his ear, and went on about his business!!
He's a cool dude, definitely not a rock star assh*le.
You have to include Overkill in any rational metal/thrash discussion or listening experience.
Currently obsessed with these :P
Luv Overkill one of my fav bands, ive seen them 4 or 5 times hopefully they will come back to upstate NY again
I think that overkill, exodus and metal church are by far the most underrated band. I think that the big four should induct every year when then go one tour. Sounds corny but that would be cool to induct thrash bands every year.
Its got such an 80s b-horror sound too it. Looooove this!
Paths crossed with the amazing Bobby "BLITZ" Ellsworth a few times while he was in Ithaca, or "Pathetica" as they lovingly called it, many years ago. Fun times we had...... Love ya Bobby!
this never get's old........listen too feel the fire.......i remember drawing this album cover for friends book covers ......
True enough, I can't believe I never even heard of them until 2 days ago when a buddy linked this video to my facebook. Metal is such a MASSIVE genre of music I can only imagine there are hundreds of good metal band out there I have yet to discover.
blitz had a stroke and he still sounds fuckin bad ass
God, I still remember he first time I heard this song, right after it was released. It's nice to kno that these guys are still influencing bands today. Any fan of Overkill from the Horrorscope era should check out the band Dir en grey: last Novenber's CD "Uroboros" is the reawakening of the titan called METAL!
I do...I stumbled on to them 2 years ago....after that my life hasn't been the same.
black2007tl you couldn't have said it any better my friend. they are absolutely amazing.
Horroscope is my favorite Overkill album. Saw them in Baltimore on that tour too.
@OsiNig actually the 1st thrash band was Anvil, who started 2 years before Overkill.
alot of music vids have been deleted because of record companies which is a shame :(
I have this album in my cd collection, is awesome! Thanx for vid, add to my playlist :)
DD Vernis bass is disgusting🤘🤘🔥🔥
WHY THE FUCK HAVE I NEVER HEARD THESE GUYS BEFORE! I just started watching metal mania on VH1 classic, fast forward through all the sappy romance crap, and was GRACED to hear In Union We Stand, which i think is one of the best metal songs i have ever heard. DD Verni’s bass in the intro sounds like something straight from a Sisters Of Mercy record
overkill I so goup up too and Horrorscope damn killer song and the album is badass thanks guys for all the years of killer metal hell yeah love metal music all of it.
BETTER THAN ON CD!!
Blitz is freaking BEAUTIFUL! Hell of a show Overkill is :)
I love it, my band is in the studio with Merritt Gant behind the board!
@tenochcasiempre These guys are great!!! and their new new album Ironbound is awesome \m/_\m/. I'm 40 and still listening to my roots and it all started with KISS back in '76 Rock n Roll Over.

holy shit, a double-necked bass!
At least 8 people have NO idea what the fuck true metal is like. Shame on them.
Heavy... very heavy...

This guy can sing Mary had a little lamb, and make it sound cool
My fav live version of this song
wow awesome version

amzing still one of my favites 14 yrs later super version
I usually laugh at people who describe some metal bands as "true", but Overkill are so fucking true it hurts.
Seeing them November 14th for the first time ever!!!
OVERKILL's scariest song hands down. This is the one that shows the side of D.D. Verni he would do with his side project as a Gothic Metal band. Overkill experimenting with Gothic Metal with their lyrics on this one.
Nickolaus Pacione or a doom metal side project
These guys never sold out....enuff said.
@NativeWinnipeg WHAAAATT? Overkill is one of the best live bands man!!
This sounds much more badass then the studio version. Awesome!
el riff mas pesado que hay
2:46 headbangign autentico
@Krazash Thankfully i listen to others as well :)
But to this date i have had no troubles finding overkill songs to match my mood, i can listen to Pantera, Metallica(oldies), Slipknot, SOAD(sometimes weird though), Judas Priest, Twisted Sister and even the industrial germans of Rammstein and Eisbrecher.
But in the end, neckwreckers allways ends up being listened to :)
being listening to them since 1992 and... it still sounds amazingly better than other contemporary bands. pure Trash metal
Creepy Song! But I love it.
A slower song that STILLS sounds heavy, well-done !
He's still fuckin' ripped, and he's over 50 now. I don't know how he maintains that lean body, but I'm jealous.
Most epic intro of all time!
i have have old vhs of overkill and there basist looks just like sylvester stallone when he was in night hawks!! fucking sick ass band! i love this song
THE MOST underated METAL band? Yep.... How may people owe debt to Overkill? How many debts will go unpaid?

Killbox13 is in my car today 10/12/12... I'm 47 years old and I know Metal..
Bob
very underated band

overkill

@sakukillerreborn I think it's from 'Wrecking your neck'
solo of this song is one of the best in whole metal
