It would be nice to have the option of front in auto park. At the grocery store, you want to be able to load up the trunk without having to sneak your cart between cars. There are also places where you are not allowed to back in park. Maybe the cybertruck, which has a front bumper camera, will have that option.
There are so many people that live in a neighborhood with off street parking, but work downtown and have to pay $10+/day to park in a garage. As soon as your Tesla can drop you off at work and then go home to park for free, then pick you up at the end of the day, it will save you $200+/month just in parking.
The updated FSD blew my mind. I have been trying it every now and then and this update just knocked it out of the park. It drove better than me. I watched it closely and compared it to my would-be decision and the fsd exceeded my expectations. I can say it is better than me. It’s probably better than more than 70% of the drivers on the road. Amazing! The acceleration is on point, the lane change is very safe, even drove in construction area with diverted lanes with cones perfectly. Moved through humps smoothly and accelerated good. No jerky movements. Glad to see this development happen before my eyes.
It just keeps getting better
When I had the FSD trial the auto park was better than any human(basically perfect)
Thank You Everybody for All that you are doing for our Planet Earth....
Peace.. Shalom.. Salam.. Namaste
🙏🏻 😊 ✌ ☮ ❤ 🕊
The compute graphics is great Hans, thank you. 🙏🏽
Right now it may be 1 in 10,000 miles but it will quickly become 1 in 100,000 as FSD dramatically improves. Then shortly after that it will be 1 in 1,000,000 miles.
We Turo-ed a 2023 and have been using auto park. It is great. Now I hope it is as good for our 2020 model y. We have used it in a tight parking structure between cars on each side.
With smart summon the car can park far away from where everyone else is trying to park where it is uncrowded and no people.
I love the name "Banish" because it's the literal opposite of "Summon"
The reason for the angled parking is because it's a one-way parking garage, you're supposed to pull in forward, no back in parking😂
Is this like the calculator? We forget how to do math, now we forget how to drive?
💀
It’s actually a nice feature because finding parking in annoying…. 😎🧟♀️
@@ExecutiveZombie just drop me off at the door Hal
Exactly
Only if you were no good at maths..I still remember everything from 40 yrs ago apart from quadratic equations!
Problem is, she parked in a spot where the car is meant to be parked hood first, not backed in. When you pull out from angle parking in a garage like that you will be facing in the wrong direction, not toward the exit. Nonetheless, the parking feature itself is excellent; just need it to be a bit faster.
It got in from facing in the right direction in one smooth movement. It should be able to get out again.
Parking nose first is madness anyway.
*Thats a lot of data considering it's "compressed" however it is for 8 cameras, am sure it will be less as the FSD is trained more and more and only needs edge cases and the occasional normal pieces of data.*
@hanscnelson - The angled parking was done wrong. It backed into the space and was therefore facing the wrong direction. If the lot is busy then getting out would be a dangerous maneuver- against oncoming traffic. Any thoughts?
About that 1 in 10,000. Dont think of it as miles. It is in units of a max few hundred feet, like how to differentiate between a left turn green light and going straight, an incident where there was a failure on video.
Interventions are not rare but are significant less frequent than in V11. I think the upcoming builds might get us to unsupervised FSD.
This BG episode is what I have referred to before as the licensing checkmate moment. No one has all the pieces!!🚀⚡️💥
I feel that musk is not done. If you noticed. A lot of people go to drive thru restaurants. I’ve seen its first attempt. It couldn’t do it. That would be an extra plus from people. Right now, you have to do it as the driver.
Another important piece is avoiding potholes
It's going to be interesting to see what happens when the autopark feature parks the car in a spot with a parking meter or what about parking in areas that require a particular parking permit like on a college campus. Most of the parking spots on the UT Austin campus require a specific permit.
The problem with autopark is it's slow. The backup camera on the Tesla is so good I can do it in one quarter of the time
So much for Valet parking.😂
One thing nobody mentions in FSD driving is sound. When i was a child approaching a road to cross it i learned "stop, look, and listen." Busses are required at railroad crossings to stop, open the doors to better look and listen, before proceeding. Sound is not mentioned in FSD, but is an important part of our situational awareness.
I like the Banish title. Reminds me of a video game and Banishing your car from its value by parking it lol.
As a gamer I like it too
But can the horn play Mexican Hat Dance? 🤨😂🧟♀️
Tesla is on the Blackwell list.
Bummer yesterday using FSD. My car clipped an island making a left turn. The small crash resulted in a flat tire. I had a spare but the wheel lugs were too short so AAA tow service had to put flat back on and AAA order a special tow truck to carry my car. I ordered the special lugs from Amazon for future tire issues.
I love my FSD, however it’s not perfect. I examined the flat and the metal wheel looked ok. I think this flat tire need a compressor with high output to restore the tire??? Mean while I got no wheels.
I am not mad I want to warn others to take charge early when navigating thru tight areas
The slowness in getting FSD on Cybertruck does not portend well for other OEMs licensing FSD
Afternoon guys
2:07 Backing into angled parking is not good. Most lots with angled parking have a one-way traffic flow and are head-in, not back-in.
That's one parking job.
A bit of information hidden in plain sight: if only 1 in 10,000 miles are "useful", presumably that 1 mile would include both disengagements and clips where the data would have improved the model. If a car travels at an average of 60 mph (just to make the calculation easier), and we know that each clip saved for training is 30 seconds, then 1 mile would equate to two video clips. So the Mean Time Between Failure would be AT LEAST 5000 miles.
Need some kind of self charging too. Its going to need a holding pattern scenario while waiting to charge, park or pickup passenger.
I like the holding pattern concept also. Just find an open place to do laps if you won't be there very long.
They parking shown was designed to be Nose-In not Back-In so really it was a fail. I am confused as to why Tesla does not park nose-in when spots are at an angle.
We got Paul Blart here
I'm sure this will get refined as the software gets better.
She picked a spot behind her. The car didn't pick the spot. You really think it couldn't park nose in if she selected a spot in front of her? You're really grasping at straws now.
@@PlainObserver I know it will not in the current software version. I use FSD and it is great at parking both parallel and reversing into a right-angled spot. It does not park straight into an angled parking spot for some reason.
@@hollowmoose I had to google who Paul Blart was but that's a very funny comment.
What about parallel parking?
I see a video already where a women used it to parallel park
Cop-May I search your car?
Person- no
Car-Yes
It does need to get about 2-5x faster, it takes well over 30 seconds for my car to park when I get to work, if there is a line of cars behind me, I manually do it (I mostly do it just to try it out).
When will Tesla's self deliver? By that I mean that the address of the owner would be programmed at the factory and the car would drive itself to the new owner.
Can autopark side park on the streets?
If you're working on the smaller details like AutoPark, then it means you've got the bigger ones already solved.
How about auto charging?
I hope that the navigation data gets improved before self-park (banish) feature is released. In my experience, the nav system is often way wrong for anything like an entrance (main or otherwise) to a business. The "summon" part is easier because the car will use you phone's GPS location where you summon it from.
Businesses would have to publish their longitude and latitude, or Tesla would have to see the entrances. I suppose Tesla drivers could indicate they are in the correct car park and the car could record the location. I sort of feel that Google Maps is holding Tesla back a little.
With Open Maps, Tesla could update the map
you dont back into an angled parking
The real money maker is when FSD is used for commercial application. Any business that relies on drivers stand to be disrupted.
No, it's at 1 in 10 miles currently.
she pushin p
On the question of "How much data your Tesla FSD Beta (now Unsupervised) car upload per day?" NONE! so far as I can determine. That's likely because my designated (and covered) parking space is 60 meters from my apartment. That may have changed when I subscribed to "Premium Connectivity" which BTW does not seem to be listed (explicitly) among the capabilities describing the Premium level of service.
You better drive a ebike! Its to dangerous to let you drive a car even with fake FSD!
The cameras are only 5 megapixels? Edit: HW3 was only 1.2mp! Hope that's not a liability in the future.
banish should be called "FAPS" = find a parking space. so AS* and FAPS
2030 is Robo Taxi available
Only in China from BYD
Tesla stock price doesn’t care about FSD and Robotaxi. The stock is down a massive 57% from its all time high while the Dow Jones, S&P500 and Nasdaq are All time high
Yeah, it kind of sucks but I think if Tesla gets shorted the way AMC and GameStop did it's going to pop.
Great time to buy cheap
The stock doesn't believe promises about FSD anymore. Elon is like 0-100 with his FSD predictions.
Its because Elon claimed Tesla “already” had level 4 FSD and robotaxis back in 2018…Here we are in 2024! Elon used FSD to pump the stock and collect his compensation. How much profit has Tesla made to date and how much is Elons compensation? Seem fair?
All that means is the market doesn’t understand or believe in fsd. Wouldn’t be the first time the market has been wrong.
this is a re-upload
I struggle to understand why you say Wymo doesn't have the infrastructure. They're Google. They have abundance of compute and they make their own TPUs.
Think about how much data there is now available from China. The improvement rate has just increased by at least 30%
Can I tell it to use(or not use) disabled spots?
Losers are those who see and yet still do not believe.
Biblical! Lots of doubting Thomases.
Let’s say FSD works well they roll out the robotaxi on 8/8. Does nothing for the stock. The ramp is long. Scaling trust adoption is a decade process.
how can anyone support this after it was promised to be done by 2017 than 2020... and at least in Europe the car is not able to recognize speed limits ...
Wait until it starts communicating. A cop pulls it over and it has to ask permission to leave.
I know my owners 4th amendment rights, you have no permission to search me. 🤣🤣🤣
"Better Call Grok"
Car proceeds to lawyer up 😂
I am so unbelievably disappointed in what Musk is doing to Tesla
He has gutted the company of talent and its expansion while betting the entire company on a technology he has promised for 10 years
His divisive rhetoric and stupid - "Ready, Shoot, Aim" - policy decisions remind me of the way the Austin factory has gone
The build it
They tear it up
They change it
Then do it again
It's impossible to execute when the entire company's direction changes at a moment's notice at the whim of an unstable man
It's really depressing
What happens if the car hits someone with no driver? You should be debating if Tesla takes liability for this! Personally, I wouldn't use the feature unless Tesla takes liability....this is the biggest issue! There is also the adversarial issue - people jumping in front of a Tesla parking itself so they can sue you! You are skirting the biggest issue I think....
New video, old information! You are getting diluted.
If nothing is happening, I prefer it if you don't make any video.
Yet another click bait title. In real life, when the final piece of the puzzle is "fixed" the puzzle is actually "complete." FSD is years from a govt-approved, wide-release, Level 4/5 functionality.
What utter garbage, Elon has told us that 13.6 is the only version with a hope of working
you try to solve fsd. Then we’ll see who’s real garbage
Elon didn’t say 12.6 was working, only what tests and simulations they were running with it
Wow
Wow! Regarding Gigibites 🧊🥌
