Cory Henry and Larnell Lewis jamming is absolute insanity. It's like kung fu. It's a whole being greater than the sum of its parts when both of those parts are geniuses of the highest order.
RIP to Shaun Martin. He just passed away at the age of 45. He was one of the keys players for Snarky (and long time performer with Kirk Franklin). In this video, he was the man who reacted with such a stank face he took his headset off in disbelief at what Cory was playing. Unbelievable musician. If you would like to see him featured, I highly recommend checking out Sleeper from the same album. It’s a feature with him using vocoder and it’s pretty funky and epic, too. The album on the whole is pretty amazing and has some pretty cool background info if you do some research. My favorite tracks are Shofukan, What About Me?, Sleeper, Outlier, and Lingus. Great album!
Everyone in this video is a world-class musician. My favorite is the drummer, but the jaw dropper is Corey Henry, the solo keyboardist. That solo will be studied and admired for the next 100 years. Groundbreaker.
And Michael League finished writing the whole set over the weekend after they all arrived. They are all badass! I highly recommend watching the behind-the-scenes documentary.
Cori Henry's solo is like really strong good smooth liquor. You take the sip, but you have no idea it's about to sneak up on you. Halfway through you're completely drunk and by the time it's over you have to keep yourself from blacking out.
They are one of the best group on the planet. You would really freak out if you knew that they put that entire album together in 4 days...not to mention that the drummer Larnell Lewis was filling in and had to learn all the charts on an intentional flight to the recording session. Watch the documentary they made of how they made the album.
You are HILARIOUS!!! I really enjoyed your reaction! I too have never heard anything like this in my entire life! This kind of music from these amazing musicians is mind blowing! My entire body was tired from moving in all kinds of...eyes rolling, head bobbing, arms moving, hip shaking, shoulder shifting directions! lol I enjoyed every minute of it!
Live, these guys are just about as good as it gets. They have a large company of musicians who come in and out of the group to allow time for their other projects. All are fantastic, but it allows for each concert to be different. All the solos are improvised, and Each player does not know who is going to do what solo until a few bars before they come in, when Michael gives them the sign. Makes sure everyone is focused and sharp, and gives the performance a great vibrancy. Most performances are recorded, and made available for purchase, often under 24 hours. Since the roster changes and the soloists change every night, each performance is fantastic. I saw Snarky in Memphis a few years ago, and the recording I bought of it sounds studio quality, just with a lot of hootin' and hollerin' from the crowd.
The people in the room knew they had to keep their reactions mostly quiet because it was being recorded. Look at the guys in the booth lose their shit though.
That was hysterical!!! Believe it or not, Snarky Puppy with Jacob Collier doing Don't you know, will make you fall off that couch. Imagine that kind of music with vocals that are better!!!
So glad you are reacting to this! I've seen them play this live, it's crazy. You need to listen to their album Silvia, especially their song 'the curtain'.
Bro, you should change the title to musician reacts, cuz, I can see you are so impressed with Cory Henry's musicianship here! If you want something by Snarky Puppy with vocals, I highly recommend "Don't You Know" featuring Jacob Collier and Big Ed Lee from Family Dinner Volume 2. It's an absolute bop! Amazing reaction!!!
I love that you finally found Snarky Puppy ! I have been a sub since you had a handful of subs and always knew that it would be up your alley since you love dirty loops.
Imagine them getting together with Dirty Loops, we would jump out of our skins :-) Loved your reaction, especially when you didn't even speak, your facial expressions are gold!
Your reaction to Michael's line at around the 03:05 mark is exactly the same reaction I had.. and continued to have throughout the song.. but you gained a subscriber on that alone lol
Try to watch and react to Snarky Puppy ft. Lalah Hathaway with the song 'Something'. Really like Your reactionvideos, that is great fun and sometimes make me laugh of joy. Greetings from Denmark.
To me it sounds like a combination of Disco, Funk and Jazz. Whatever it is it sounds great. For two mind blowing instrumental performances check out 2Cellos "The Trooper Overture" and Tina S. "Beethoven Moonlight Sonata 3rd Movement". And for a fun instrumental piece watch "Cello Wars" by The Piano Guys.
You should try some Domi and JD Beck stuff too. There is a video of Domi as a 17 year old playing this Cory Henry solo by sight that is fun, but I like the Zildjen session where she takes more of an ensemble role and JD is more out front.

Perfectly described.

Aw man, RIP. He left a great legacy.

The composer and leader of the band is the bassist Michael League
Larnell Lewis is a beast!!! He kills on What About Me!!!
Larnell was a last-minute call-in. He had less than 48 hours notice for this gig.
The drummer here Larnell Lewis learned almost every song they played at this show on a flight between America and the Netherlands!! That's bad ass!!
And Michael League finished writing the whole set over the weekend after they all arrived. They are all badass! I highly recommend watching the behind-the-scenes documentary.
This is the greatest react Ive ever seen, ever.
Thanks for the pure joy.
I will never not click on a Lingus reaction. They are ridiculous.
This song is why I laugh when people say good music stopped in the 80s.
Well.. Rick Beato says so😅

Perfect explanation 😂😂😂
Watching someone become a Cory Henry fan in real time.

I already know Cory Henry is about to change your life and I’m not even at that part.
*edit because words and stuff are hard
I love your reaction! These are top tier musicians absolutely!
The people in the room knew they had to keep their reactions mostly quiet because it was being recorded. Look at the guys in the booth lose their shit though.
I love watching them lose it on every track from this session :-)
man, that was some of the funkiest music I've ever heard.
LOL...best reaction...sooo real and funny
Crackin' up, love your reactions, dig your vibe, new subscriber :) Yeah, this performance is next level absurd!
I get tears listening to Snarky Puppy… they move me that much. No choice about it
You thoroughly crushed this reaction!
Based off this you would also like Love is the Message. It was recorded live at Abbey Road by some of the best jazz musicians in the London scene.
That doesn't get enough love
Mansur and Yusseff just killed that one, Yeez
Yes. Definitely listen to “something”. A must. That performance won a Grammy.
Welcome to the Snarky Puppy family.

Great reaction. Felt the same way the first time I heard it.
That was hysterical!!! Believe it or not, Snarky Puppy with Jacob Collier doing Don't you know, will make you fall off that couch. Imagine that kind of music with vocals that are better!!!

A grown man clutching a doll in order to cope with Cory’s solo. I love it 😆

Your reaction to Michael's line at around the 03:05 mark is exactly the same reaction I had.. and continued to have throughout the song.. but you gained a subscriber on that alone lol

React to 1612 by Vulfpeck. It’s so funky and it’s low volume. Come on.
Yes!!!! I second this! I also recommend the live version at The Late Show!
You and me Brad both!
Try to watch and react to Snarky Puppy ft. Lalah Hathaway with the song 'Something'. Really like Your reactionvideos, that is great fun and sometimes make me laugh of joy. Greetings from Denmark.

Best 'stank face' I've seen to date 8:25 onwards😂
Welcome to the Snarky Puppy club. I found Jacob Collier from his collaboration with them. You need to jump in and enjoy all of their video.
To me it sounds like a combination of Disco, Funk and Jazz. Whatever it is it sounds great. For two mind blowing instrumental performances check out 2Cellos "The Trooper Overture" and Tina S.
