I love the ‘detailed look’ approach you have to life! Thank you for the close ups and comparison in this video. My tried and tested tip for keeping your scissors sharp is to take a A4 size of aluminium foil (kitchen foil), actually the size can be whatever you want. Fold it over in half and half again ( and even again if you’re so inclined) and just use your dull scissors to cut the edges repeatedly. Make sure you make one smooth cut/movement from base to tip of scissors cutting foil repeatedly then voila! (or foila) nice SHARP scissors!
Awesome item to put on the list! I hope it improves your propagation, otherwise try using distilled water, and in a place that isn't too cold with good light source!
I have one and I love it. light, smooth and ergonomic, my hand hardly gets tired while trimming. fluorine coating is nice too because it prevents sticky resin gunk it up
I just bought a pair of chikamasa btut hey are the spring loaded ones, they look more like Pruning shears and have blue handles. I got them for £11.50 from Amazon and when they come on Saturday I'll test them out with some buds I have to finish trimming! I'm glad these ones work so well, I hope mine are this sharp!
Absent Minded I think it's a good option, sometimes your plant might be too busy tho and the scissors is safer and easier to get to where you need to cut. But if you can reach what you want to cut with a razor blade then it's a good option too!
I never thought touch about scissors when propagating but now that I saw this video I see how important it can be. Great video!

Good advice, this comment was flagged as spam by youtube for some reason so sorry for late reply!
Super interesting, love the close ups, now I know why sometimes cuttings don't take!
ive got an new video that goes more in depth on cutting
This explains why my propagation numbers are so poor. This is going on my wish list for mothers’s day. Thank you!

@@TechplantChannel the one with the razor blade? Absolutely love your channel man 💗
im currently propagating some crassula. i fear that they all wont make it now that i used a very bad scissor
If your in the USA buy fiskars scissors form Amazon UK they are all made in Finland and are very good quality unlike the Chinese made ones.
Nice Ill check em out
Wouldn't razor blades be the best option for cutting plants?
