      There's only a few minor differences, one being the release. It's not all that much difference than drawing with your fingers. The biggest thing is that the cams hold some of the draw weight at full draw. So on an 80 pound bow you will only be holding 65ish pounds at full draw

      @johnkenneth9293 well then explain all knowing guru. What's the major differences? Draw technique? I'm already aware? Draw weight? Also already aware, traditional bows are much harder to draw in comparison, but they will give you crazy back muscles. Please provide me a comprehensive breakdown of all the differences between traditional and compound bows so I may be saved from my ignorance.

    • @ChickenScrape
      @ChickenScrape 3 วันที่ผ่านมา

      I did the same thing first time using a release. Need to keep your finger behind the trigger until you are full draw. Use it like a safety until you are on target. Then move it around and slowly pull on it. Keep your release short so you are pulling the trigger more like a gun trigger not just your tip of your finger. That causes target panic and trigger punching. First time I pulled a bow back with a release the arrow shot right into the ground. LOL

    • @JW-bw8nj
      @JW-bw8nj 6 วันที่ผ่านมา

      The guy in this video (Cam) is using an index finger release. Compound bow shooting is different than shooting a traditional bow. An archer shooting a traditional bow will typically wear a glove or tab and pull the bow string back with their fingers, but compound bow shooters will almost always use a mechanical release to pull the string back.

      Looks like a hamskea limb driven arrow rest. There's a "fork" that will pick the arrow up from the shelf when you draw and fall away when you release. If you meant the other way...the arrow is usually between 11 and 13/16ths from the riser. Hope that answers your question

      @mikeford963 10 หลายเดือนก่อน

      Kisser buttons are a waste of time. If you have a solid anchor with your release hand, the string hits the middle of your nose, and you can see through the peep without having to move your head, you don't need a kisser.

      @@jamietwigg4845 That may have a lot to do with the string angle off the cams. And one reason many archers don't have the string touching their nose is their draw length is too long. Usually 3/4" to a full inch.

    That was NOT A SLOW SQUEEZE. It was a punch plain and simple. Yea, I know you got a good rep for hunting shots but when hunting you have from like. 6” diameter kill zone on a deer to a 12-14” easy on an elk. Which allows for great error when punching. But getting into a 3” 2 or 3 arrow group at 40 yards is not very likely. After all those years of being around JD it’s crazy you haven’t seen how his techniques are basically fool proof. Anyway, good luck to you and shoot straight! 👍👍

      @@davidholmberg5769 I too was a puncher for probably 15 years until I was shown there’s a better method. O my good days it was money but the bad days were crap. Yes, I could hit a 6” diameter spot to 50 yards most of the time. Which is generally a kill hit provided it was hitting where I wanted it. But, I learned to use the back muscles and let them work. World of difference in control of the shot. I could actually KEEP my focus down range where it’s supposed to be.

      Lets not gloss over how much tension he has in bow hand too. That hand should be 100% relaxed. No pressure on any of the fingers, and especially none on the thumb!!
