Wish I had seen this before I started bowhunting in the beginning of October. Would've helped a lot. Either way, I put in the work, 3 or 4 times a week with 2 hour drives upstate until I dropped my first buck with a bow 6 weeks after getting my starter Diamond Edge Infinite Pro bow in the mail. About 2 weeks ago, I seriously upgraded to a Mathews Z2 and now my groups are touching @ 20 yards on my first day shooting it. Can't wait for the '17 season with this thing. Great tutorial by the way. Thanks. I still learned from it.

Its really nice to watch an instructional video where the host(s) are relaxed, actually informative, and prepared. I am just getting into archery and doing my homework. Great video Craig. I'm 59 years old and preparing for my very first archery hunt with my son. I've been an avid rifle hunter for the past 40+ years. My son finally convinced me to try archery hunting just for the heck of it, so here we go! I'm sure if I had seen a video like yours years ago I wouldn't have been as intimidated by the thought of trying to sling some arrows at an animal. You prolly weren't alive back then. HAHAHA.
Anyway, thanks for the great tips. Maybe I'll check back in with you after my first couple of rounds of shooting my bow and let you know how your tips helped this old dog.

Had the bow set up at a pro shop. It performed just fine th-cam.com/users/postUgkxQEKUoxLWwayEDZR0NKB-5limn4MBU-2L . And I would say this is a good starting now that I could pass down to my son when he is older.But the package was missing the release and a nock was missing from one arrow.Dealing with customer support was terrible. They suggested I buy a new release rather than correct their own quality control issue because it’s to expensive for the. to ship it out from China.Update: manufacturer got back to me and resolved the issue. I retract the above statement.

Notice how this archer lines up his draw arm elbow with the point of his arrow for proper alignment and form at end of his shot sequence. He is able to repeat the shot sequence each time in almost the exact same way each time. The repeatable shot sequence helps accuracy a great deal. Enjoy!

great video! i got my first compound a week ago, a used and pretty antiquated bow, but functional to get myself started, and was hangin with my buddy who was teaching me the basics, but i was just coming up short a lot. this explained a few of my mistakes, really appreciate it!

Great vid! I train people especially with firearms to do a light jog until they are winded and then shoot. Very good way to emulate the heart racing you get when excited by buck fever lol

I bought my first bow this past weekend.. I m in love with archery.. IMO it’s even funner
than shooting .. I was gonna go in and get the PSE infinity but the guy at the shop convinced me to get a diamond edge or diamond deploy.. after trying out both I went with the diamond deploy... so fun.. I spent like 3 hours on Sunday shooting at an outdoor range by where I m at!!
Diamond is a great bow for beginners! And will last awhile even while you get more experienced. Glad you're enjoying it!

Thank you so much my friend! Step 4 especially helped me as I’ve taken a lot of skin off my arm several times. I bought an arm guard, but it would still lightly bruise. Since watching this however I’ve only struck my lower arm once (and that was user error.)
One question I have is what poundage is your bow? I keep the loose grip, but the bow doesn’t roll forward...
