    3 in 1 oil works great and cheaper...

    Tyre prep is always a great watch.
    A 50/50 mix of NSR light oil and lighter fluid works great, give the mix a good shake, it'll take a few hours to dissolve and mix properly. Grip lasts a few races.
    Tea Tree oil works very well, as does Olbas Oil but grip only really lasts a minute or two.
    Long term treatment...3 in 1 oil applied every day for a week.
    Koala Klaws works very quickly but grip is short lived.

    Bebe Baby Creme or Nivea creme for rubber tires. Cheap, easy to get, long lasting, works great!!!! No need to leave it for a day, will work within minutes!!

      I need to try this, do you need to apply every race?

    • @slotcardude68
      @slotcardude68 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@SlotCar2021 to your likes. Apply once, let it rest for a minute or two, drive the first 2 laps slowly (very slippery!!!!), should improve constantly. Clean with a tape after like 20-30 laps. Also works on foam tires.
      Does NOT work on new rubber tires (surface must be broken), on Polyurethan or Silicone tires.

    I haven't tried it on slot cars yet simply because I can't find any at the moment, but I used to use 99% rubbing alcohol on rc car tires and it make them stick like glue on a hardwood floor. The rubber in both types of tires is similar so it should work great on slot cars.

    I used to use Oil of Wintergreen, to soften slot car tires.

    • @trackfanstv
      @trackfanstv  ปีที่แล้ว

      Interesting, I've never heard of the technique or, oil of wintergreen so, I'll be checking that out later. Where would you get oil of wintergreen out of interest please?

      @@trackfanstv I used to find it at the drug store...you may have to ask for it.

      Oil of wintergreen is banned at most UK slot car clubs - I think it is believed to be carcinogenic. The noticeable smell makes it easy to detect.

    What is the reason for putting the lighter fluid on after the treatment fluid? If I was doing it it would be the lighter fluid first then the traction fluid.

    • @trackfanstv
      @trackfanstv  ปีที่แล้ว

      It's just how I've always done this, I'm not sure that it would matter if you did the lighter fluid first in honesty chap.
